In 2013, our Strategic Plan: A Church for All People, called for us to: Reorganize ministeriums into new conferences and establish new opportunities for our deans to lead and serve. These pages contain maps and lists of our conferences. Clergy meet monthly in conference groups and key lay leaders also have the opportunity to gather once or twice a year, so that they too have a sense of the church working together. Special points of interest: A Sense of Mission There are seven conferences ranging from 12 to 22 congregations in size. Each conference has a dean, appointed by the bishop and ratified by the conference. Deans receive a small stipend for their work. Lay leaders are a key in uniting us as one body. Congregations with a part time pastor, or no pastor, don t typically participate in the monthly conference meetings, and therefore have been disconnected in the past. Our conferences include lay leaders from each congregation in two meetings each year, one in the spring and one in the fall. meet for mission purposes. We work together on mission, leadership development, campus ministry, stewardship, and global and local mission. These mission-driven conferences are designed to revitalize our regional collaboration, while allowing congregations a chance to connect beyond their walls.
