8 The LEAD Journey: strategic steps for transformation We believe that your leadership, your congregational team, and your ministry s future include your neighborhood. The Journey is a path of transformation that leads from where you are right now to a new place as an indispensable Christian community, through an intentional process of listening and collaborating. LEAD is known across the country for excellence in accompanying leaders and congregations as they do the hard work of revitalizing their congregation over time. We know that this is at least a three-year journey. TO THERE 3. The church rethinks the way it operates in order to welcome new people with new imagination through the Dig Down Process. 4. The church deepens its relationship with the neighbors as it understands that it is the neighborhood, through the Work Out Process. 2. The neighbor-view inspires new values and purpose through the Wake Up Process. FROM HERE 1. The church meets and loves its neighbors through the Tune In Process.

10 NEW Invitation We are launching the Courageous Community WATCH FOR IT: thecourageouscommunity.org. A new website filled with digital resources. Not just a pile of webinars. This is a strategic community. You asked for it. We are delivering in the Fall of 2018 An all-new subscription-based resource center that invites you into a community of wise, curious leaders like yourself. The Back Story: This grew out of the work LEAD did with leaders recovering from Hurricane Harvey. God is with us in hard times, often revealing new gifts and places we are sent to serve. Building on our strength Camp Hope Day Camp Ministries This proven model for adult-mentored, student-led ministry brings the relationships that happen at camp into your own congregation. Children become missionaries to their own homes as they learn to share stories of faith and life. After almost thirty years, Camp Hope is still: The best strategy for growing student leaders Unprecedented in expanding Biblical literacy Focused on serving the neighborhood We care about today and tomorrow. Growing student leaders is crucial to our church. We are ready to expand to serve a wider ethnic community. Partner with us to make this happen!

12 2018 Goals Let LEAD's results speak by telling our clients stories of transformation Action Research Quotes and Stories Videos Create new markets through research, networks, and partners First call pastors New synods and judicatories Outdoor ministries Strategic planning Maximize LEAD content by repackaging our current IP to make services more accessible Digital resources Seasonal resources Website review Marketing efforts Increase excellence in client support Anticipate their needs Strengthen connectivity Provide quality administration Become a stand-alone 501 C3 organization Organizational growth Board development Nonprofit status Scale thoughtfully LEAD is giving us a new way of thinking about church leadership. Rather than the business model we have used from the workplace, we are introduced to a collaborative, relational way of leading together. This really changes things for everyone. The Pastor is not the only spiritual leader anymore. Pastor Pat Payne, Delaware-Maryland Synod I am surprised by the deep theological questions and conversations coming from my leaders as we have deeper conversations about scripture than ever before. Pastor Drew Yackel, Southeastern Minnesota Synod We have a lot more confidence in ourselves as leaders. We have learned a lot about ourselves and a about our community through the LEAD Journey. We really needed the coaching to get where we are today. Pastor Scott Cigich, Texas-Louisiana Synod We wanted to ignore our resale shop before the LEAD Journey. Now we realize this is our gateway into the very community God has called us into partnership with. We are rethinking everything. Pastor Sara Yotter, Delaware-Maryland Synod

This has been an effective way to maximize gifts and manage expenses. Future growth will require additional full-time staff as well as the possibility of new contract staff. This Leap of Faith staffing model is contingent on grants and donors filling the gap until we can expand our client base. The page to the right is one vision for expanding staff.
