These are the Minutes of the Sixty-third Annual Session of the Missouri Conference of the Methodist Protestant Church, Held at Blades Chapel, in Greene County; Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; August 7, 8, 9, 10, E. R. Stribling served as President and J. F. Howe served as Secretary of the session. The Methodist Protestant Church broke away from the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1830 over the question of the church s episcopal structure. It would not rejoin the larger parent denomination until the Methodist Episcopal Church, the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and the Methodist Protestant Church united as The Methodist Church in In 1929 the Missouri Conference of the Methodist Protestant Church had thirty-two member congregations (not all of them active), mostly in southwestern Missouri, with about 1500 members. The largest congregation, at Preston, had 232 members. The annual session for 1929 was held at Blades Chapel near Republic in Greene County, Missouri. This booklet includes the official minutes of the session, a roster of pastors and delegates, reports of standing committees, and a statistical table that lists all the member congregations with membership and financial data. r October 2005 Van L.
