1 St. John Journey NOVEMber November brings the Christian Year to a close with All Saints Sunday on November 4 and Christ the King Sunday on November 25. In between are two Sundays 11/11 and 11/18. This year we are lifting up Veterans on November 11 and on November 18 we are gathering in the Fellowship Hall for Worship at 10:00 AM. You are invited to bring your favorite Breakfast Dish to share as we gather around the table and give thanks for the many blessings God has and continues to bestow on us. Make your plans to be a part of these and all Worship services in November. I want to thank all of you who have made financial commitments for I continue to brag (I know it is a sin) on all of you and your outpouring of generosity in both money and time. It is very impressive how St. John reaches out to those in need and in their times of need. We need to reach out into the community and bring some folks back with us to Sunday worship. You are the EVANGELIST, you are the ones who can reach out in love and invite your friends and your neighbors to come with you to church, with you. Combined on Nov. 14th NO rehearsal on Nov. 21st Beginning Nov. 28, Combined Choir Rehearsals through December 19th We just received notice that our quilts from 2017 have been sent to Lutheran World Relief's partner North Star Foundation in Ukraine. Quoting from the letter states "The recipients are particularly vulnerable for a variety of reasons related to poverty including those are homeless, orphans, single mothers, refugees, and disaster survivors." We are looking for more volunteers to help us assemble these quilts. The basic skill needed to help is to tie knots in thick threads and participate in fellowship on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 to 12:00. We welcome any assistance. 3 P a ge 3 S t. John Journey FINANCIAL REPORT St. John s income and expenses were nearly balanced in September. Our projected shortfall for the year has shrunk from $11,700 to $9,700. An update on St. John s Stewardship Campaign: We have received 30 pledges for a total of $160,324. Thanks so much to those of you who have pledged so very generously! We are now about $10,000 from our goal and hoping to receive another 5-10 pledges. If you have not pledged yet, please do so soon; preferably by November 4, which is Consecration Sunday. Your pledge will be very much appreciated, regardless of the amount. Please come out and bring a friend or neighbor! The Finance Team 3

6 Annual Congregation Meeting December 9th, 10:00AM Please put December 9th on your calendars for the Annual Congregation Meeting to discuss and approve St. John s budget for We will meet in the sanctuary at 10:00AM between worship services. I am now in rehab to gain proper range of motion and strength. I really appreciate all the members of my church family. Edie Hiltebeitel ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR WCLC St. John will prepare a Thanksgiving meal and deliver it to Washington County Lifesaving Crew on Monday, November 19th. We need volunteers to donate cooked 12 pound turkeys and have them at the church before 5PM that day. We also need stuffing mix, instant potatoes, and jars of gravy. Monetary donations to cover costs of these items can be made also. Please check with church office for more details. Children s Activity Bags and Church Library 1. Volunteers are needed to help with the Children Activity bags: 1. supplies are needed, and 2. they need to be checked weekly in order to be refreshed. There are more activity bags in addition to ones on the hanging rack. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP WITH THIS MINISTRY THEN PLEASE SEND ROBIN HOMESLEY AN OR NOTE. DON'T TELL HER, BECAUSE SHE IS NOT REMEMBERING MUCH THESE DAYS. 2.
