1 Answer Key for Students Old Testament Survey Course OT3 To the Promised Land MOUNT ZION BIBLE INSTITUTE You have been encouraged to use your own words while formulating answers from the reading text. We are looking for your own thoughts and words in order to demonstrate your understanding of what you have read. In this answer key, we have often quoted from the text directly, in order to have an accurate standard of comparison for your answers in your own words. Therefore, your answers are acceptable whenever they are in general agreement with the text; we do not require or want an exact match with our answers provided herein. Some questions ask for a personal response. We suggest you review these with your pastor or other mature Christian that you know. Answers or words not from the reading text are set in brackets. Lesson 8 Covenant Nation Disciplined: Numbers 1. 1) to organize the people for entering into the conquest of the promised land, and 2) to show us how God trains or disciplines His people so that they will be ready to receive what He has promised. 2. Secondly, the Law is protective. 1) It removes from society those who threaten society. 2) It limits sin by creating a fear of punishment in those who do not know God. And 3) it protects men from selfishness. It provides for the poor and encourages doing good to others The Majesty and Glory of God as revealed in Creation. 2. This love is both the motive and result of obedience. As we love Him, we want to please Him in every way; as His children, we want to please our Father. b.
