6 Kęstutis Miliauskas (The Headmaster) 1. Where were you born? Why is your birthplace so dear (special) to you? I was born in Alytus region, Santaika village. That is the place where I grew up with my parents and brother (unfortunately they have already passed away). 2. What is the most beautiful place in Lithuania? There are many beautiful places, but my favourite is Nida for its dunes. Also, the mound of Kernavė. 3. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? Probably Christmas Eve, which is the most beautiful family holiday. 4. What is your favourite Lithuanian band or song? I have to admit, I am not a great music lover or expert. I like classical music more. So, I would name Merūnas. 5. What Lithuanian dishes do you like most? Cold beetroot soup. I could eat it all year round. 6. Who is your favourite historical personality (hero)? Former president V. Adamkus. It was a great pleasure to meet him during his run-up to the elections. 7. Which Lithuanian personality (celebrity) would you like to have dinner with? There are a lot of interesting personalities, but I prefer to have dinner alone- less stress. 8. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb There are many nice words, so I can t choose only 3 of them. If we speak about proverbs or sayings, the first which struck my mind is Don t praise the day before the sunset (,,Negirk dienos be vakaro ) 9. What are 3 main character traits common for all the Lithuanians? I think that diligence (darbštumas) is common to all the nations, not only for Lithuanians. Different people have different character traits. 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I d like to wish prosperity for Lithuania and tolerance to everyone (klestėjimo ir pakantumo).
