1 Laimutė Arlauskaitė (a teacher of history) I was born in Patamulšis village in Prienai region. It s my birthplace. The most beautiful place in Lithuania is the national park in Aukštaitija, also known as the land of lakes. 3. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? -Lithuanians, be yourselves, don t pretend, perform all tasks well and have substantial food.

What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb My favourite saying is Lithuania is my dearest motherland 1 Jealousy, patience, tolerance / endurance. (pavydas, kantrybė, pakantumas). 20. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I wish the Lithuanians would be strong and would cherish what they have already achieved.

I love the history of this town. 2 - The most beautiful place in Lithuania is a small lake surrounded by forests in Varėna district. 23. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? - Christmas Eve and Christmas when all the family members are together. 2 - Tenderness performed by V. What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb - As you make your bed, so you must lie on it (,,Kaip pasiklosi, taip išsimiegosi ) 2 - Perseverance, diligence, moderation. (Atkaklumas, darbštumas, santūrumas) 30. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? - To celebrate other Centenaries in the future.

6 Kęstutis Miliauskas (The Headmaster) I was born in Alytus region, Santaika village. That is the place where I grew up with my parents and brother (unfortunately they have already passed away). There are many beautiful places, but my favourite is Nida for its dunes. Also, the mound of Kernavė. 3. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? Probably Christmas Eve, which is the most beautiful family holiday. I have to admit, I am not a great music lover or expert. I like classical music more. So, I would name Merūnas. Cold beetroot soup. I could eat it all year round. Former president V. Adamkus. It was a great pleasure to meet him during his run-up to the elections. There are a lot of interesting personalities, but I prefer to have dinner alone- less stress. 8. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb There are many nice words, so I can t choose only 3 of them. If we speak about proverbs or sayings, the first which struck my mind is Don t praise the day before the sunset (,,Negirk dienos be vakaro ) I think that diligence (darbštumas) is common to all the nations, not only for Lithuanians. Different people have different character traits. 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I d like to wish prosperity for Lithuania and tolerance to everyone (klestėjimo ir pakantumo).

What is your favourite Lithuanian band or song? Hiperbolė O aš taip myliu. 5. What Lithuanian dishes do you like most? I like potato dumplings (cepelinai) 6. Who is your favourite historical personality (hero)? My favourite historical personality is J.Basanavičius. 7. Which Lithuanian personality (celebrity) would you like to have dinner with? I would like to have dinner with Lithuanian president D. Grybauskaitė. 8. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb Love, mother, sun. Not all is gold that glitters. 9. What are 3 main character traits common for all the Lithuanians? Diligence (darbštumas ), economy ( taupumas ), joy ( linksmumas ). 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I wish to be positive.

What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? -I wish strength and unity!

For me this place is special because I have been living here for the past 50 years The most beautiful place in Lithuania is Druskininkai. 33. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? Christmas Eve and Christmas. 3 My favourite group is Hiperbolė. 3 Buckwheat pie (grikinė babka). 3 Lithuanian Duke Gediminas. 3 With the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė. 38. What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb Thank you (ačiū), meadow (pieva), sea (jūra), flowers (gėlės). 3 Pessimism (pesimizmas), anger (pyktis), lack of respect (pagarbos trūkumas). 40. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I would like to wish to all the Lithuanians to have more positivity, to love our country and not to immigrate.

My three favourite words are love, happiness, health. 4 Most Lithuanians are angry (pikti), dissatisfied (nepatenkinti), cheerless (niūrūs). 50. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? Everyone should be for Lithuania. All people should smile and feel happy.

Christmas Eve and Christmas, because my family gather to celebrate. 5 Band Fojė. 5 Pig intestines stuffed with grated potatoes (vėdarai). 5 Alfredas Bumblauskas (a historian). 5 Valdas Adamkus (the ex-president of Lithuania). 58. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb Love, family, friendship. 5 Jealousy, obstinacy, talking scandal (pavydas, užsispyrimas, apkalbos). 60. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? To unite, to close up and be content with what we have.

12 Olivija Brindzienė (a vice headmistress) 6 I was born in Seirijai, Lazdijai district. This place is special, because there are a lot of lakes around. 6 Dzūkija, especially Druskininkai. 63. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? The16 th of February. 6 Band Rondo and Grįžtu namo by A. Vilčinskas. 6 Potato pie (bulvių plokštainis). 6 Saliamonas Banaitis, a signatory of the Act of Independence. 6 M. Mikutavičius as he is also from Dzūkija. 68. What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb - Lithuania, freedom, sensibility (Lietuva, laisvė, atjauta) 6 Sincerity, hospitality, the ability to sympathize (nuoširdumas, svetingumas, gebėjimas užjausti). 70. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I wish more positivity for Lithuania and I think we should enjoy the things we have.

Easter Gytis Paškevičius Mano kraštas and Andrius Mamontovas Potato pie (kugelis) Petras Vileišis (a prominent Lithuanian engineer, political activist, and philanthropist) Liudas Ramanauskas (Alytus radio). 8. What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb I love Lithuania (,,Aš myliu Lietuvą ) I think the Lithuanians are lively, but at the same time they are reserved, modest, hardworking and creative (linksmi, uždari, kuklūs, darbštūs, kūrybingi) 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I would like to wish that after the celebration of the Centenary, we would live and be happy the next century, we would put much effort, so that the life in Lithuania would become better and nobody would think that other countries are better to live in.

14 Irena Kliminskienė (a teacher of Chemistry) I was born in Siberia, in Krasnoyarsk. I don t love my homeland, because my parents were deported to that place. The Curonian Spit. 3. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb Homeland, thank you, oak. Diligence (darbštumas), pessimism (pesimizmas), modesty (kuklumas). 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? I wish peace, prosperity and optimism.

15 Zenonas Špiegis (a teacher of Physical Education) I was born in Tauragė, this place is special because it is my motherland. The most beautiful place in Lithuania is Ignalina district. 3. Which Lithuanian festival is your favourite? The most favourite holiday is Christmas. I don t have my favourite band, but the singer would be Gytis Paškevičius. All his songs are beautiful. The most favourite Lithuanian dish is Tauragietiškas kugelis. It s made of potatoes and.pettitoes. Vytautas the Great. I would like to have lunch with Arvydas Sabonis. 8. What are 3 dearest words in our language? What is your favourite Lithuanian proverb To pay good for good (už gera geru). Modesty (kuklumas), love to motherland, love to family (meilė gimtinei ir šeimai). 10. What would you wish to Lithuania and the Lithuanians on the Centenary? Diligence and goal reaching!
