Read the passage and answer the questions that follow:- Rana Sanga, the ruler of Mewar, died when his son, Udaisingh was just a baby. After the death of the queen, the baby became motherless. Before her death the queen called Panna, Udai Singh s nurse. She put the baby into her lapand said, Panna, I leave the future King of Mewar in your charge. Promise that you will let no harm come to him. Panna, the faithful nurse, brought up Udai Singh with her own son who was of the same age. Since Udai Singh was a child, the chief nobles of the state made another prince named Banbir the caretaker ruler of Mewar till Udai Singh would grow up. Banbir was not a good man. He was not satisfied as a caretaker ruler. In his heart he wished to be the real king of Mewar. He made a plan to kill Udai Singh. One night the little prince was fast asleep in his bed, while Panna s own child was in her lap. She was singing softly to put him to sleep. Suddenly, she heard a great noise in the palace. Just then a servant came running in to inform that Banbir was coming to kill the prince. It was a terrible blow for Panna, but she was not afraid. She had to save the life of the prince. Without wasting a moment, she took the little prince and him in the fruit basket. She then asked the servant to take the basket outside and hide it among the trees. With a heavy heart, she dressed her own son in prince s clothes. She kissed him and placed him on the cot. Just then Banbir entered the room with a sword in his hand and killed the poor child. Panna was heart broken, but she never forgot her duty. Panna and the servant took the prince to a safe place. Such was the brave and noble deed of the faithful nurse, Panna, who gave up her own son to save the life of Udai Singh. Answer the questions:- i. What promise did the queen take on her death bed from Panna? ii. What did Panna do to save the life of Udai Singh? iii. Why Did Banbir wish to kill Udai Singh? iv. Learn, practice and revise the syllabus of Module -2 (from course book and notebook) 2. Do a page of handwriting everyday in the Cursive Writing Book for a fortnight. 3. Learn the poems Boats sails on the rivers and Good books from course book.

Write a paragraph on why she is still remembered. f) Draw any four road signs and write what they mean. PREPARATION Read Lessons- 3, 4 and 5 and learn Lessons - 3 and 5 for Module Test-II.
