1 Dear Srila Govinda Maharaj, Please accept my humblest dandavats to the dust of Your Lotus Feet. On this Holy day of Your Vyasa Puja, I want to express my gratitude for allowing me the to serve in Your Mission. I understand that the legacy of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Sridhar Maharaj that You have come to show us is the purest and highest ideal for the soul. Many times, I wonder how a person as limited and full of faults such as myself could aspire for this great blessing. I think it is something very big and far from me because of my condition; that s why I thank You for allowing me to try to serve in Your mission. Just in those few moments that I try to serve You, I feel that my life stops being meaningless. I hope Your health is good, and that You are very happy in the company of the many of devotees from different parts of the world who are there with You on this holy celebration of Your Vyasa Puja. 2 My very dear Srila Govinda Maharaj, Please accept my most humble dandavats. During the days leading up to Your Vyasa Puja, I can feel great joy and happiness among the devotees. I got the desire to write You little offering for this purpose. But after these divine words of Srila Sridhar Maharaj, I just did not know what to write any more: gurvvabhista-supurakam guru-ganair asisa-sambhusitam cintyacintya-samasta-veda-nipunam sri-rupa-panthanugam govindabhidham ujjvalam vara-tanum bhakty anvitam sundaram vande visva-gurun cha divya-bhagavat-premno hi bija-pradam I worship the holy lotus feet of he who perfectly fulfills the most cherished wish of his divine master who is adorned resplendently with the blessings of his guru varga; who is adept in all Vedic conceptions, both conceivable and inconceivable; who is the faithful follower in the line of Sri Rupa; who is known as Srila Govinda Maharaj; whose beautiful divine figure revels in the mellows of divine love; who is the guru of the entire universe and the bestower of the seed of divine love for the Supreme Lord. With these expressions, coming from the most exalted devotee of the Supreme Lord, to His beloved disciple, what more could I possibly say? From the bottom of my heart I pray for You to stay forever with us as the captain of this great ship, shining as the Polar star and taking, just by Your kindness, these souls to a secure port. And it happened. My Master Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj made his appearance representing Sri Chaitanya-dev. This event is the reason for my rejoicing- to see him in my heart, to salute him in my heart and to thank him in my heart for his divine presence. Dearest Srila Gurudev, Please accept my humble obeisances at Your holy lotus feet, by whose mercy we may come to Sri Krishna Prema. I am missing You very much. By Your grace and mercy I am surrounded by Your sincere and dedicated servitors here in Soquel. I myself haven t a drop of devotion, but by the example of the devotees here I have hope of developing some love and affection for Sri Seva. Sripad Janardan Maharaj is always giving us nourishment through his kindness and his superior knowledge. He has been such a surrendered servitor from the days of Srila Swami Maharaj, Srila Guru Maharaj, and is now bowing his head at Your lotus feet. This shows his deep dedication and love for Sri Sri Guru and Gaurachandra. Mother Sureshswari is really our Mother here. She is always looking out for all and tirelessly serving morning, noon and night; cooking, collecting and making sure everyone who travels to India from here has a big lunch bag. Hasyapriya Prabhu has been our protector and is working non-stop in so many ways to keep Your Seva Ashram running smoothly. He words are always We just have to surrender. That he is showing by example. Swarangi didi has always been a friend and inspiration to me. Her dedication and creativity are remarkable. When I feel troubled, I go to her because I know she ll always steer me in the right direction, which is to Your lotus feet. Ramai Prabhu s unfaltering service and devotion to Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharvika Giridhari gives us all hope. In America we have Energizer batteries. In the advertisement it says they just keep going and going. Well Ramai just keeps going and going, on the current of Prema Bhakti. Kalindi didi has been here since the beginning of this Ashram and is always serving and chanting Your glories. She makes sure the Ashram dogs, Tres and Shyamali, are well taken care of. The new bramacharis, Jivanuga Prabhu and Dina Dayal Prabhu, have jumped right into service and are very happy to have this opportunity to surrender to Your lotus feet. The young men, women and children of this Ashram are showing how their own development of sincerity and dedication is keeping them close to Your lotus feet. Vidura Krishna das, Vyasa Dev das, Vaidehi dasi (Sarvabhavana s daughter), Vaidehi dasi (Kalindi s daughter), Dhruva das and Janavi devi dasi are all engaged in various forms of seva: from the young men and women s scripture class to cooking, puja, collecting and preaching programs.

7 There are also so many devotees who live in the community and are here regularly for seva and programs. Sarvabhavana Prabhu, Diksavati didi, their daughters Vrindavanesvari, Vaidehi and Annapurna are a stalwart family of long-time devotees who are always ready and engaged in seva. Srutasrava Prabhu, Sanatini Didi and their children Rasarajani dasi, Radhika dasi, Kalacandra das, Sarvananda das, Nilamani das and Devika dasi (Tink) are consistently giving their time here and in San Jose. Srutasrava Prabhu s lectures are beautiful, faithful and inspiring, Sanatini didi s cooking engages all the children in such a nice way. They all do so much for Your temples here in California and around the world. 8 Dear Gurudev, Please accept my sincere dandavat pranams to your lotus feet. The quality of the genuine Acharya is to be interested in the well-being of all people. He never exploits his disciples. He is an intimate servant of the Supreme Lord and he is always full of compassion towards the suffering of humanity. He knows that the world is suffering because there is not devotional service to the Supreme Lord. For this reason he tries at every moment to change the sinful activities of the people, to guide them towards devotional service to the Lord. He does not need help. He alone can liberate alone the world; but He is so merciful that he asks fallen souls like me to help Him. So through your mercy, dear Gurudev, I can be engaged in this wonderful sankirttan movement of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
