2 A true history of a great saint His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami This book is dedicated to the people of The World as an encouragement to live as one big family and work towards eternal peace inspired by His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, the founder Spiritual Teacher of The International Society For Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami. 3 Introduction Disciples about His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami: I. Krishna Mangala Swami is a vibrant soul who's taken on multiple roles. He is a spiritual guru who spreads the words and love of Lord Krishna with a great amount of dedication, a loyal friend providing endless support and encouragement, and best of all a loving spiritual father to many of his sons and daughters, including myself. I have personally met Maharaja only once, at my mother's house in Malang, East Java, Indonesia where he showered us with his warmth and modesty before reciting about his experiences with Srila Prabhupada and the importance of spreading Krishna Consciousness to save the conditioned souls in our world. Further on, by Lord Krishna's mercy, I have been given the opportunities to feel his humble presence through darshans and correspondence. Since the day we met, my life has gradually transformed from struggles to a sense of peace. From this great soul I've come to realize the true qualities of a pure devotee of Krishna - constantly loving, humble, forgiving, honest and very open open to our questions, stories, troubles, longings, and hunger for Lord's Krishna's spiritual spark. Krishna Mangala Swami has shown us all the true inspiration that is almost nonexistent in this chaotic planet. I sincerely pray that such a meeting with him would happen frequently. No doubt that this book which draws his life and teachings will be beneficial to all of us who have continuously questioned our purpose in this world but have not attained adequate fulfilling answers. After many years of missing the all comforting friendship and association of a sadhu at last Sri Krsna mercifully brought me into contact with HH Krishna Mangala Maharaja. I am very glad for having made his contact. Maharaja is such a perfect sadhu that We can hardly believe it. All the good qualities of Krsna s pure devotees are with him. Most notable are his humility, kindness and his capacity to befriend all kinds of people. One person described him as being, The most down to earth person I have ever met. I have had difficulty in convincing many to meet Maharaja, but every single person who actually met him was very satisfied and ended up liking him a great deal. Due to my constant travelling, the exchanges I have with Maharaja are mostly via his frequent communications. Whatever Maharaja writes it has the qualities of transcendence-eternality, full cognisance and joyfulness. Mostly what we read, after a few minutes it becomes stale and tasteless. But whatever Maharaja has said, the more we read it the more we feel peace, happiness and love. The more we meditate on his words, the deeper they get and the greater our satisfaction. Sometimes I ask difficult questions of Maharaja about how to best interact with or advise a particular person. Yet every time his answer is completely satisfactory - in accordance with the scriptures, full of wisdom, selfless, and most importantly, very loving. His answers are always perfect. More than that Maharaja has a capacity to understand things very deeply. I demonstrated this one time to a senior Godbrother of mine. I asked; How could he have known that? He immediately replied, Paramatma, indicating that Maharaja can communicate directly with Sri Krsna. It cannot but be because his answers are always sublime they have the qualities of transcendence.

4 Repeatedly Maharaja has shown miracles in his understanding and perfect advice. Maharaja also has an inconceivable ability to bless. Once Maharaja asked me to convey his blessings to my mother and sisters as I was about to visit them. I questioned; How can you bless them when you have never met them? Maharaja replied that it is the quality of a brahmana to bless all, even unknown or unseen people. More than that, when at last I did somewhat comply and express Maharaja s good wishes to just one of my sisters she immediately became full of emotion and said; You please tell your Maharaja that on hearing his words my chest is heaving and I am becoming glassy eyed. I have observed the same kind of result many times. Maharaja also can see things and know things which are simply impossible to be known. This surely can only be because of his being in communication with Sri Krsna. Maharaja described the kirtana I did with the above mentioned sister and another of her friends, even though he has never met any of them, nor has he ever been to my country, what to speak of being there to witness what took place. He recently explained the unusual behavior of one devotee telling that it is the result of his childhood experiences and that he needs more love and attention to help him overcome his disturbed background. But Maharaja has never met the person, what to speak of talking with him for hours which would be needed to discover such a deep and hidden truth. I was again amazed. It is our great fortune to meet such a pure sadhu, a representative of Sri Krsna, and the more we can interact with Maharaja especially in the matter of following his loving advice in our lives, the more is our eternal benefit. I hope all reading this book will feel the greatness of Maharaja and will become increasingly inclined to accept him in their lives and hearts. 5 III. Please accept my humble obeisance. All glories to Guru and Gauranga. I bow to your lotus feet. If you decide to start to live your life in Krishna consciousness it seems to be easy in the beginning. You chant and you read the scriptures and you feel close to Sri Krishna. But then you read again and again that you only can reach Sri Krishna s Goloka Dhama by the help and the guidance of a bonafide master. And it's not up to you to find this spiritual master, it s Krishna in His never-ending mercy who leads the Guru to yourself. And so it was in my case. One day I came in contact with HH Krishna Mangala Swami. He was there, when I've needed him. From this moment it was like sun enlightens darkness. It was clear, he is my spiritual master, no doubt. I wanted to follow him. He has enriched my life. I'm sure, under his guidance it may be possible to go home - home back to Godhead. Although there is such a great distance on earth between him and me it's no problem to communicate with him. He is always reachable. He explains everything about Krishna with words that let my heart melt. Whatever I ask, he never gets angry. He is so hearty and patient. His warmth and affections for all living entities is very hard to describe. HH Krishna Mangala Swami is like a father for a little child for me on my spiritual way. He takes my hand and teaches me how to go, always benevolent. My confidence in him is boundless. When I read his blessings in the morning, I'm sure, my day will be good - and it happens. When I get darshan by his photos, I feel his presence, as if he would be with me in one room. I'm so grateful, that he entered into my life. 6 His Holiness K rishna Mangala Swami This is the true story of a very special spiritual master, who has taken birth in this material world to serve all living entities with immeasurable love, compassion and care. His thoughts and actions are always centered on The Almighty Lord. As many among the people of this world are unaware of his spiritual powers, this book is being published. By reading this booklet, one will become aware of the benefits that human kind stands to gain by serving him. He is like a great mountain filled with love, concern for a better world. He cares for everybody, irrespective of country, status, religious faith etc etc. His compassion towards all living entities is very unique. He is a spiritual master for everybody in the universe. Please read and communicate with him. He will receive you with open and loving arms. His feelings of brother and sisterhood is something amazing and great to experience. His touch of love will be soothing. He was born on the 30th of June, 1949 in Trichur, Kerala. But at infancy itself he had to leave Kerala to live in Bombay (Now Mumbai) as his late father Sri T.N.Venkateswaran settled down in Bombay's suburb of Andheri. His mother's name is Srimati K.S. Ranganayaki.

7 Parents late Srimati K.S. Ranganayaki and Sri T.N.Venkateswaran (with sister) The original given name of His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami was V. Narayanaswamy. He lived and studied in Andheri s famous colony Shree Ram Nagar". As a student he was very average. He had a great inclination to help everybody. Suiting his pet name Krishnamoorthy he was very attracted to Lord Sri Krishna from infancy itself. Because of his shy qualities many failed to notice this. But this quality came out of the hiding when his father used to take the family to Kerala. This continued until the early 1970's, when His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada used to visit Mumbai s Juhu area frequently in connection with building a huge temple of marble very close to the Juhu beach for the great pleasure of Lord Sri Krishna. Srila Prabhupada changed his life. He was also very much encouraged by his childhood friend Anantharaman. Thus began a professional spiritual journey which today is at the very highest peak and has richly benefitted many thousands spread across the world to whom His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami preaches vigorously, with mountains of love, compassion, care, brotherhood, sisterhood, both personally and by e mail. World Peace is his goal and he is very sincere and determined to achieve this. After Srila Prabhupada departed for Goloka Vrindavana, in 1977, he served his eternal spiritual

8 master His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami from Manipur. He had a very intimate relationship with HH Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami like a father and son. He spent years serving him both in Manipur and Kolkata with great sincerity and honesty. His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami gave him Dhiksha or spiritual initiation as per the Vedic Culture and named him "Krishna Mangala". His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami left this world in the year In the academic circles Damodara Swami is referred to as Dr. T.D.Singh. Dr. T.D.Singh got his spiritual initiation from Srila Prabhupada, the founder Acharya of the world famous ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness). Dr. T.D. Singh s initiated spiritual name is Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami. He had a Ph.d in physical organic chemistry from the United States of America and was immensely popular in the academic cirlces, which included Nobel Laureates, professors in various disciplines, great spiritual masters. At present Krishna Mangala Swami is settled in Nagamangalam, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), TamilpNadu, India. He is actively involved in working towards a peaceful and better world, through lectures, social work, preaching etc etc based on the teachings and books of His Divine Grace Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada and His Spiritual Master Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami. 9 His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada His thoughts and ideas The people of this world should always be happy and healthy. To achieve this fights, quarrels, wars and destructive weapons should take eternal rest. Books on quality education and writing instruments should be encouraged. Spiritual thoughts, peaceful atmosphere and discipline should grow. One must always think of good. One must be firm in thinking that good will happen. Everyone must be united irrespective of their countries, religious faiths to achieve world peace. His qualities He is an embodiment of love. Mixing with everyone very easily and lovingly. He has no enemies. High thinking, honest dealings. A symbol of truth. Simple living. Always connected to the Almighty Lord. Very very affectionate towards children, because they are tomorrow's leaders. For him everything is God's property. Selfless service for mankind.

10 Honesty During the ancient days in India, lawyers sometimes would suggest his ancestores to lie in order to acquire properties, but his ancestors would refuse to do so, saying that we never lie as we are god conscious. Krishna Mangala Swami comes from that lineage. Once in the railway station called Churchgate in Mumbai a rich person forgot his luggage in the train. An employee of the railways, Khan, saw this luggage and gave it to the station master. In a while the owner claimed the luggage and was greatly relieved to find all the contents in tact. The contents included currency notes, passport and some other valuable documents. Pleased with the honesty of Khan the owner gifted him with 50,000 (approximately US $1,100) in cash. But Khan refused the offer, reasoning that, this money was not earned by him. So Allah would not pardon him Krishna Mangala Swami would often narrate this incident to the students and feel very proud of Khan. In Philippines one boy named Marcos would do small jobs like cleaning pots, polishing shoes etc for some American soldiers. Marcos was an orphan. One of the American soldiers who also had a similar upbringing like Marcos would tell the little boy everyday; SON NEVER EVER TELL LIES and always be honest! Marcos hearing this message strongly registered the same in his mind. On growing up Marcos applying this message into practise became a multi millionaire. Years rolled by. Marcos now a millionaire wanted to meet the American soldier to thank him. The soldier told Marcos that he gave the same message to whomever he met. But because Marcos took the message seriously he was benefitted. Narrating this true story His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami would often break down with tears of pride for Marcos. Compassion and care Once on a deepavali (a very popular festival of lights widely celebrated by Indians all over the world) day Krishna Mangala Swami set out to meet a good friend of his. While on the way he met a blind person. Feeling for his lack of sight, Krishna Mangala Swami lovingly held his hand and eventhough it took all day to help the blind person, he did it with a smile. After the job was done Krishna Mangala Swami went back home without even meeting his good friend. Instead he telephoned him to inform him of what happened!!! And sincerely apologized. Popular among the masses Krishna Mangala Swami spent one year in Russia. Delivered a series of lectures on Krishna Consciousness and the immense necessity of practising spirituality for a peaceful world. The depth of his lectures and his answers to questions left the Russians spellbound. They told him; Please stay in Russia, we will provide a Russian Passport and Citizenship. We will build a house on the banks of the river Volga for you. But Krishna Mangala Swami had commitments back home in India towards his spiritual master His Holiness Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami. The Russians,

11 many of them weeping, bid him a tearful farewell, stocking him with plenty of delicious Krishna Prasadam. Serving his Spiritual Master Back in India HH B.Damodara Swami gave Krishna Mangala Swami the responsibility of maintaining accounts for the magnificent temple that stands today in lmphal, the capital city of Manipur. After completing that assignment, Krishna Mangala Swami with the permission and blessings of HH Bhaktisvarupa Damodara Swami decided to settle down in Tamil Nadu a state he so dearly loved right from chilhood. A state where he feels very much at home. What his disciples say about Krishna Mangala Swami He is a pure hearted great saint. His greatest ability is to involve: everyone in the devotional path and remove all the obstacles that stand in the way. Many thousands have experienced his spiritual powers. Whoever comes into contact with him will most certainly be benefitted both spiritually and materially as well. To be blessed by him is a great fortune. By looking at his face and serving him, one will be relieved of the sinful reactions accumulated for seven generations. Everybody's ultimate destination He has the immense capacity to guide any body to Goloka Vrindavana. Goloka Vrindavana is the ultimate destination of all those who are born in this material world. It is the original home of all the living entities. There one can always associate with Lard Sri Krishna. The melodious vibration of His transcendental flute is always in the air. There is no birth, old age, disease and death. The air is always fresh and supremely fragrant. No accidents, fights, quarrels. No wars, no cheating. No lying. Everybody is equal there. Everybody is super rich. Everybody gets everything in plenty. There is only one occupation there - to eternally serve Krishna. Everybody is always joyful and healthy. Everyday is a festival day, fragrant flowers, incenses, music, dance, feast.

12 Everybody lives in huge magnificent palaces. Everyone has vehicles and airplanes. Even ordinary conversation is a melody and ordinary walk an eyecatching dance. The Supreme Almighty Lord Nobody can ever even imagine the kind of wealth that Krishna owns. Nobody can be any where near as beautiful as Krishna. Nobody can be as intelligent as Krishna. Krishna is the strongest. As a boy of 6, He lifted the Govardana Mountain with His little finger effortlessly and held the mountain for one week!!!! In every respect Krishna is simply Supreme. Nobody is above Him. He is the Supreme Captain of the entire creation. Nobody can be a greater friend of all the living entities than Krishna. Nobody can take care of all the living entities like Krishna. Therefore the wise surrender to Krishna and enjoy the greatest protection one can ever imagine. The greatest enjoyment one can ever imagine. This is the supreme secret of a successful life for everyone in this world. Krishna created the World 1,57,68,000 crore or 15,76,80,000 million years back. His Holiness Krishna Mangala Swami s spiritual energy and blessings will reach any one, anywhere in the universe, by the incredible mercy of Lord Sri Krishna, because Swamiji is 100% totally surrendered to the will of Krishna. Swamiji s humble advise is everyone can enjoy this benefit by surrendering to Krishna, reading from The Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. These are like diamond mountains, directing mankind to Goloka Vrindavana, where instead of the stones that we find in this material world you will find diamonds. Let writing pens and books grow in popularity. Let the little children learn to respect elders and teachers. Let them be taught to speak sweetly. Let each mother, who gives birth to a child, take the responsibility to bring that child up with discipline and courtesy. Future plans Establish a monastry to spread the ideas of a United World of Peace. Organize meetings of people from all parts of the world to encourage them, for this to become a reality. Encourage the younger generation to actively work on this as they are tomorrow's leaders. To actively work on getting support and sponsors for all these to happen. Krishna Mangala Swami, who is a symbol of humility, a sincere soul very humbly begs for wide support from the people of this world. Essence of the Bhagavad Gita Whatever happened was good. Whatever is happening is also good. Whatever will happen that also will be good. What did you lose that you are crying for? What did you bring which you have lost? What did you create that is destroyed? Whatever you have taken is taken only from here. Whatever you have given is given only from here. Whatever is yours today will belong to somebody else tomorrow. And belong to someone else day after tomorrow. This inevitable change is the law of the universe. And the objective of MY creation. The Almighty Lord Sri Krishna. Ten Commandments to become a perfect Student Love God - Remember God always. Love your parents and serve them always.

14 Never tell lies, always be honest. Love and respect your teachers, always. Respect all human beings and animals. Develop the habit of keeping a small writing pad always and write whenever necessary, so that you never forget. Always be humble. Avoid anger. Be always disciplined. United We stand, Divided we fall. Gems and Diamonds from The Bhagavad Gita Lord Krishna explains: Chapter 10, Text 39: I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being moving or non moving that can exist without ME. Chapter 15, Text 15: I am seated in everyone s heart, and from ME come remembrance and knowledge. By all the Vedas, I am to be known. Indeed, I am the compiler of the Vedanta (Ultimate Supreme Knowledge) Chapter 18, Text 66: Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto ME. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. I shall protect you. Do not fear. Chapter 15, Texts 12 and 13: The splendor of the Sun, which dissipates the darkness of this World, comes from ME. I enter into each planet, and by MY energy they stay in orbit. I become the Moon and thereby supply the juice of life to all the vegetables. Chapter 7, Text 4: Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and the body - all these are MY energies. Chapter 10, Texts 32 and 41: Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the self, and among the logicians I am the conclusive truth. Know that all opulent, beautiful and glorious creations spring from but a spark of MY splendor. Chapter 7, Texts 26 and 7: As The Supreme Lord, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present and all things that are yet to come. I also know all the living entities. There is no truth superior to ME. Everything rests upon ME, as pearls are strimg on a thread. Chapter 18, Texts 57 and 58: In all activities just depend upon ME and work always under MY protection. In such devotional service, be fully conscious of ME. If you become conscious of ME, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by MY grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing ME, you will be lost.
