R. 2, Vd:Nalge P.S 3 Abstract: There are seven sutures called sapta sevanya out of which five are located in skull, one below the tongue and last between anus and scrotum in male while vulva and anus in female. I. Methods and Findings Methods : 1) By study the sushrut samhita. 2) Observing 30 delivery patients from hospital 3) By studing other Ayurvedic samhitas and reference books and collecting the information about the (suture)) sevanya. II. Findings 1. According to sushruta the sapta sevanya are studied according to importance for surgery point of view According to sushruta there are seven sutures or sevanya out of which six are common in male and feamale but the seventh suture is different because this suture located over the perineum where the external genital organs located as we know the external genital organ of male and female are different. The suture located in male between anus and scrotum while in female it is located between anus and vulva, All suture are as important as each but the commonest suture which can injured easily during labour in female is the seventh suture hence more important to preserve it during labour.we observed 30 cases of labour. In 21 labour patients doctor took epsiotomy,remaining 9 out of which 2 labour are normal and in 7 labour patiens there is perineal tear.we observed in which patients episiotomy was taken pains were comparatively more.in normal labour patients pains were negligible. 2 As mentioned above the location of seventh suture in male is between anus and scrotum and in female it is between vulva and anus.this particular suture in female is very short as compare to male. III. Conclusion Sapta sevany s are five suture of skull, one at tongue, one at perineal site, As seen the location of the suture,the structures related with these sutures are sensitive.even minor injury creates major complications hence during surgery every body should take care and preserve them. Some author or samhitakar told that sevany and simanta are same but it is not true because number of simanta are 18, according to Asthang Sangrha sharir sthan or according to Bhoj simanth they are 14 in number. They are only five suture of skull in simanth or sutures of skull also called as simanth. 5 When I completed the research about septa sevany s I discussed it with our HOD and conclusion is Septa sevany s include five suture of skull namely 1) two parietal 2) one lambdoid 3) one sagittal 4) one coronal The sixth sevani include frenulum of tongue(frenulum linguae) and seveth sevani means in male it is the suturefrom anus to scrotum and in female it is the suture from anus to vulva.
