4 4 The average human being of today gives a great deal of thought and applies a great amount of energy to attain the high levels of material welfare. But not withstanding even success in this endeavor, there is yet much unhappiness, discontent and misery pervading the lives of the people. It is the result of unbalanced application of effort. The human existence consists of two planes of existence the material and the spiritual and both these are important for the harmonious well-being of the individual. If either is neglected for the other, such a life becomes unnatural. Our ancient forefathers neglected the material existence, negating it almost totally and therefore they paid the penalty of living in poverty and sickness. We the modern ones today tend to ignore the spiritual life almost completely and this neglect results in horrors of man-made diseases and sufferings. Hence neglect of either sphere of existence is wrong and will give us incomplete and unproductive lives. Such an unbalanced living will be one of dissatisfaction, misery, insecurity and frustration, giving one a feeling that one has lost the way, the goal and the purpose of existence. To correct this sorry state of affairs, we have to bring back balance into our living by aspiring to develop and grow simultaneously in the twin realms of matter and spirit. We must pay equal attention to material life and spiritual life. Sahaj Marg system of modified Raja Yoga under Shri Ram Chandra Mission, says that as a bird needs two wings to fly, so a human being needs the two wings of existence the spiritual and the material, to lead a natural and harmonious life. Sahaj Marg (Natural way) is the system of practical training in spirituality. It is in essence the well known old Raja Yoga, remodeled and simplified to suit and help the man of present day world to achieve inner perfection or divinization. It goes on in conjunction with the normal worldly living of the common man with due regard to his duties and responsibilities of life, so that both the phases of life, the worldly and the Divine, may develop equally bright. This system is specially developed for the average householder. It teaches that normalization of all functions lead to saintliness. Every faculty in-built in man has its legitimate function and must be used in the performance of that function. Therefore, celibacy is not prescribed but a normalization of the generative function is brought about. The Master or the Guru of this system states that prior to creation everything was in a state of perfect T.R. Baskaran Cell : SAHAJ MARG A Way of Balanced Existence TRB Diamonds & Silvers Designer Diamond Jewellery Supply of Loose Diamonds Job Works No. 28-A, Palmal Cross Street, Panthadi 6th & 7th Cross, Near Thirumalai Naickar Palace, Madurai trbdiamonds@yahoo.com Website : trbdiamonds.com June 2018 balance and the world came about as a result of an initial imbalance which developed into greater and greater imbalances as Creation progressed through a maze of complexities. Sahaj Marg sets the goal of achieving this balance or original condition in which all senses and faculties are in a state of perfect balance and moderation. Mind is the key instrument in a human being and by proper regulation of the mind through meditation under practical guidance and support of the spritual Master, one can evolve to the highest. The regulation of the mind is brought about through meditation in this system. Sahaj Marg recommends meditation on the heart as the easiest way of achieving perfect union with the Godly condition of absolute balance. This meditation is supplemented by a cleaning practice which paves way for easier results. The most important feature of the system is the TRANSMISSION given by the Master. He transmits His own yogic life-energy, his own spiritual attainments from His own centre of existence to the centre of existence of the practicant of the system. This transmission is something unique and enormously efficacious in its application. It is something which is tangible and capable of being felt by anybody who practises meditation under this system for a brief period. This Transmission gives the practicant the possibility of growing without limitations. It erases, by Master's Power, all the past impressions (called Samskaras) which we have built up within us. When the past impressions are removed, material existence falls into its proper place, as does every facet of existence. By receiving this Transmission we are able to acquire a state of Being, in our own life time in a short period, which restores our inner balance and moderation in every phase of human activity. When we enter into this state, we bring into our life the purity which makes the balance i.e., balance thinking etc. In fact in a way, the true normal behaviour emerges when all our senses and faculties are in a state of moderation and we live, function and have an existence in that balanced state. The Sahaj Marg system of yogic practice is open to all people (above 18 years of age) irrespective of caste, creed, colour or sex. Shri Ram Chandra Mission has centres all over the Country and abroad. The Mission welcomes everyone to take part in this experiment of self evolution and see for himself/herself the enormous benefit of self transformation brought about by the Master through His transmission. Your willingness is the only qualification that is expected of here. For further details, kindly contact : SHRI RAM CHANDRA MISSION Babuji Memorial Ashram, Manappakkam, CHENNAI Courtesy: T.S. 9 June 2018 GOMATHA SAMRAKSHANAM Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara Here is the list of key points from Deivathin Kural Go Samrakshanam Chapters (32 chapters in Volume 7 and 1 chapter in Volume 3). Let s pray to Periyava to show us all a way to do Gho Samrakshanam consistently and do whatever we can do to revive this Dharma. Periyava Thiruvadigal Charanam. Ram Ram. 1. Our mother feeds us milk only for a year or two whereas Gomatha feeds us for our entire life time. Not only milk, she also provides, curd, ghee, buttermilk, dried cow dung cakes that is used for Homams / Yajnams. We also get Basma (Vibuthi) from dried cow dung cakes. Gomatha is very soft and tender by nature. Gomatha takes the form of Bhu Matha and Sri Matha as well. 2. Milk is allowed to be consumed by Sannyasis who according to Shastras are refrained from consuming any animal products, with the exception of Cow milk. It satisfies their twin objectives of not harming an animal for food and also increases their Sathvik (Good) qualities. The same holds true for normal people as well. 3. Everything in Gomatha is considered auspicious. Even the Go Meyam (Urine) and Go Meyam (Cow Dung) are considered auspicious and is part of Pancha Gavyam. 4. Performing Pancha Kavya abhishekam (Mixture of Milk, Curd, Ghee, Cow Urine, and Cow Dung) to Lord Shiva is considered very auspicious. Doing abhishekam using Cow horn to Lord Shiva is considered auspicious as well. We need to realize even the Cow dung and urine are very pure in nature that has a lot of divine and medicinal values. 5. Go Rosonai (Liver Fat) is used in Siddha Medicines. Her skin is used for making Mela (drums) played in temple worship/auspicious occasions. Of course, the above said should only be obtained after Gomatha passes away naturally Key Points on from Deivathin Kural and not by brutally killing her which is a grave sin with no atonement. 6. The dust that arises out of her walking is considered very auspicious as well. Godhooli Snaanam, which is one of the auspicious bath as mentioned by scriptures and Srimad Bhagawatham states Lord Krishna has enjoyed this several times. 7. One of the key reasons why one home in Bhopal was not affected a bit when millions died was because of the cow dung cakes that were used in performing daily Yajnas. After this incident, the Russian scientists accepted that Cow dung has very strong disinfectant and anti-pollutant capabilities. 8. Pancha Gavyam, made of five cow products (Milk, Curd, Ghee, Cow Dung, and Cow Urine) has immense scientific and spiritual capabilities. They are used for exterior as well as interior cleaning. They are used to cure bone related diseases. Cow Urine is used in preparation medicines for stomach aches. Milk is full of Calcium which helps our bones grow stronger and also help cure skin related diseases. The benefits of curd, ghee and buttermilk, if consumed the right levels are significant and are very well known to all of us. 9. According to scriptures, killing Gomatha is equivalent to killing our mother, the gravest of all sins with no atonement. Even a small harm caused to Gomatha is a great sin. 10. No Homams/Yajnas can happen in this world without Gomatha or her products. 11. Anushtanams (ritual) / Japams done in Go Shala (where Cow resides) provides billion times more benefits than done at home. 12. Cows when they cease to provide milk, still provide ingredients for organic manure. 13. Cow feeding can be made very simple by collecting all vegetable waste daily from our homes, hotels, and hostels on a Daily basis. All we need to do, show some heart to do this. 14. All 33 crore devathas reside in Gomatha. She is a walking temple by herself. All Punniya Theerthas (Sacred rivers) reside in her. 15. Ignoring Cow by not feeding properly and killing is a grave sin. She should be considered a National Treasure. 16. Gomatha is Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi herself. Goddess Sri Mahalakshmi resides in the rear part of the cow. In Sri Madam Go Puja is done daily before Ghaja puja. 17. Lighting Ghee Lamp in temples and home is considered very auspicious. This is yet another invaluable product that Gomatha provides us. 18. Ban of Cow Slaughter is very important and public should campaign for it. More importantly, Gomatha Samrakshanam by individuals should happen on a 9
10 10 June 2018 daily basis. Existing Go Salas should flourish and new Gosalas should be built to ensure not even one cow should go for slaughter. 19. Do not mix coffee (caffeine content) with milk. Abolish this practice forever. Even Afghanistan and Mughal rulers of India had strict ban on cow slaughter not too long ago. 20. Vedas, Sastras, Ithihasas, and Puranas emphasize the importance of Gomatha Samrakshanam, Seva, and worship umpteen number of times. Mullavi (Pallavi) Raama naama saritho jhugu ramyam deste kavitho! We should campaign intensely for Gomatha Samrakshanam and also involve people from other religions as well by patiently explaining the qualities of Mother Cow. 22. Protecting Mother Cow is Protecting the world. The world will be much more peaceful only when atrocities against Gomatha stops. If Mother Cow is put in distress the entire world will suffer as well. Cow Protection is extremely important for Loka Kshemam. 23. It is important we learn how to do Gomatha Samrakshanam from North Indian people who have immense love and respect for Go Samrakshanam. 24. There is NO GREATER PUNNIYAM than doing Gho Dhanam; Performing Gho Samrakshanam is Parama Punniyam, Parama Dharmam. Performing Gho Matha Samrakshanam is the biggest Lakshmi Puja as well. 25. It is my wish that all people irrespective of caste, creed, or religion unite together for this great cause of Gomatha Samrakshanam. Lokha Samastha Sukhino Bavanthu. Periyava Thiruvadigal Charanam!
