2 GENERAL INFORMATION Why a Conference Focusing on Healing in Family Systems? In spite of our cultural focus on individualism, the truth is we were born, live, and will die within relational systems, the primary one being our family. The healing we often seek is that of relationships, especially family relationships. This conference will address the psychological, spiritual and physical components of family healing that include intergenerational, individual and relational transformation which affects our present health and the life of future generations. Plenary speakers and presenters will provide the grounding for family healing, address the impact of broken relationships on physical, emotional and spiritual health, identify blocks to familial healing, share prayer models for relational healing, and give witness to the transformative power of relational healing. The International Conference The conference is uniquely structured to integrate opportunities for professional learning, healing, and spiritual growth along with the development of lasting relationships. Conference activities include plenary presentations, workshops, a speaker panel discussion, and a specialty group gathering. The annual Member Meeting is open to all attendees. Each day begins with optional prayer, praise and worship. There is daily celebration of the Eucharist. The two healing services reflect various Christian healing traditions and offer the opportunity for individual prayer. Saturday night is party time. All are invited to stay for the Sunday closing liturgies. ACTheals ACTheals is an international, ecumenical association celebrating its 40th Anniversary of providing educational, spiritual and social benefits to Christian healthcare professionals, clergy, and associates. ACT s resources and support enable them to personally experience the healing power of Jesus Christ; integrate their professional skills, spiritual development, healing ministry and theological understanding; and to extend healing presence, heart, and mind of Jesus Christ through their work and ministry under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. ACT invites Christian men and women throughout the world seeking to know and make known the healing love of Jesus Christ and the healing power of the Holy Spirit to join us. Music Ministry Carl Granieri and his team, Hearts Afire 4 God, will again be providing music for the conference and the Saturday evening party. Carl is currently the Parish Music Director in St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Naples, FL, where he shares his talents with the school band and the parish. He has been in parish ministry for over 24 years. Carl and his team are professional musicians of the highest caliber. The positive comments they receive on conference evaluations attest to their ability to deeply touch the spirit and move the body. Hearts Afire 4 God offers upbeat welcoming music, reverent traditional music, spirit filed, sensitive music for healing and joyful Christian entertainment. Breaking Bread The Meal Plan provides the best opportunity to meet and talk with conference presenters, and make new friends while catching up with old ones. With a full schedule it is also the easiest, most efficient way to move from meals to meetings and still have time for personal needs. The Meal Plan includes 3 lunches and 3 dinners, beginning with dinner on Thursday and ending with lunch on Sunday, for only $150. 3 PRE-CONFERENCE PROGRAM The Process of the Healing of Families Seminar Fr. Yozefu-B. Ssemakula (Fr. Joseph) In this introductory workshop Fr. Joseph will speak about what is done in his weekend seminar; the how, why and the way that they lead the families represented through a process of praying effectively for the healing of their families. Participants learn to distinguish between the true Cross of Christ that we have to carry, and the false cross, which is an oppression of God s children. He believes that the strongest weapon satan has against us is our ignorance, and that understanding is one key to healing. The seminar equips people with how to pray effectively to end recurrent problems in their personal and family life in a step-by-step prayer approach for deliverance that is simple, effective and powerful. Generational Healing in Healthcare Practice Douglas Schoeninger PhD, & Judy Shelly, DMin Why does this pattern keep happening over and over again? Perhaps it is a long history of depression in a client s family tree, a healthcare organization with a long legacy of power abuse, or a whole profession that carries a low self-image. Healthcare professionals and systems face these challenges both personally and professionally. Generational healing is an intercessory prayer process that frees individuals, families, organizations and communities from the burdens they carry passed on from the transgressions and wounds of previous generations. It also liberates the gifts and blessing that have been passed down. This seminar presents a comprehensive method for this intercessory process. We teach specifically how to do it and at the same time provide the biblical foundations and essential resources, criteria, preparation and theory for engaging generational intercession in healthcare practice. A practicum session provides participants an opportunity to practice this process. Fr. Joseph is the renowned author of the critically acclaimed book, The Healing of Families. He was born and ordained to the Catholic priesthood in Kampala, Uganda. He came to the USA in 2007, is currently serving in the diocese of Pensacola Tallahassee, Florida and is a PhD student in clinical Psychology in Washington, DC. Through prayer, study and practice he developed his method of family healing prayer which he presents in his world-wide ministry and in his book. Douglas Schoeninger, PhD, a clinical psychologist and President of the Institute for Christian Healing, practices psychotherapy that integrates prayer and spirituality as healing resources and focuses on healing with an intergenerational perspective. He has authored many articles and books. Judith Allen Shelly, DMin, served with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for 40 years focusing on the spiritual dimension of nursing. She edited the Journal of Christian Nursing and is the author of over 20 books. Douglas and Judy are co-authors of Generational Healing: Restoring Wounded Families, Churches, Organizations and Beyond (submitted for publication).

4 CONFERENCE SPEAKERS Judith McNutt, MA Renovation of the Heart Judith will be speaking on healing and forgiveness in the family, the power of the family blessing and joy capacity. At a time when many families are hurting and experiencing great stress due to the breakdown of relationships, this teaching will show how the Body of Christ can be a force for God s healing presence in the world. Through this teaching, there will be an invitation to discover how your relationships can be healed and restored by Jesus transforming love. Judith MacNutt, President of Christian Healing Ministries, Inc., is a licensed psychotherapist in Florida. She discovered the need for prayer with her clients as a clinical counselor. In 1977, Judith established Christian Counseling Services, integrating her work as a psychotherapist with healing prayer. In 1980 she married Francis MacNutt and together they founded Christian Healing Ministries. Judith is the author of Angels Are For Real. Rene Pelleya-Kouri, MD Christian Healing in the Market Place: The Allopathic Medical Office God has found a way for Dr. Rene to pray for most of his patients as the patient/md relationship develops the patient become aware that he truly cares for them. In that bond of trust he is able to talk about religion and healing. During the last 12 years, thousands of his patients have received Jesus as Lord and Savior, many have received healing, deliverance and improvement of sickness of Spirit, soul and body. He will give a short testimony of his life and discuss his daily activities in the medical office, with emphasis on physical healing prayer which is Chapter 3 of his book, Praying Doctors Jesus in the Office. Dr. Rene is an Internal Medicine Physician practicing in Miami, Florida. Born in Havana, Cuba, he came to the USA when he was 14 years old. A graduate of the University Of Miami School Of Medicine with degrees in Internal Medicine and Nephrology, he was also involved in the fields of Addiction medicine and Alternative medicine. Dr. Rene was trained on all levels at Christian Healing Ministries in Jacksonville, Florida. He is invited to give testimony, and to minister healing and deliverance world-wide. Fr. Robert Sears SJ, PhD The Trinitarian Ground of Healing of Families Fr. Bob, a longtime member of ACT and now pastpresident, did his doctoral work on the integration of psychotherapy and the theology of the Holy Spirit as breathed forth from the joint love of the Father and Son in the Trinity. God has created us in the Image of the Trinity as a family, and has restored us by adopting us into his Holy Family, giving us Jesus Heavenly Father and Mary his mother as our own through Baptism. Fr. Bob has studied family systems theories and has been trained in Psychodrama and Family Constellations Therapy and is now seeing the implications of our divine adoption for our ultimate healing. Father Bob, former Superior of Gonzaga Jesuit Community at Loyola University Chicago, is a theologian specializing in the relationship between psychotherapy and the theology of the Holy Spirit. A counselor, spiritual director, and former professor at the Institute for Pastoral Studies, Loyola University Chicago, he has taught and written extensively on such topics as Adult Faith Development and generational healing, Jung, Family Systems, and Ignatian Spirituality.

EDUQUEST the California provider will charge a $5 per CEU the conference and all those receiving credits must attend the entire conference and complete a post test and evaluation.
