CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION GOD S WORK of SORROW and ASSURANCE: L: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. L: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. C: But if we confess our sins, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Silence for reflection on God s Word and for self-examination. To those who believe in Jesus Christ He gives the power to become the children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit. SUNDAY RITE OF COMMISSIONING: P: Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, Dr. Giessler will soon depart for Uganda, in Africa, to preach at a large refugee camp and teach a three-week Bible seminar. P: Dr. Giessler, do you believe it is God who has called you to serve in Uganda? Dr. G: Yes. P: Will you strive for excellence in your missionary service? Dr. G: Yes, with the help of God. Page 2

Dear LORD, we ask for your blessings upon Dr. Giessler as he serves You in Africa. Keep him safe in his travels, healthy in body, soul, and spirit, free from all harm and danger, at peace in every circumstance, strong in his voice, and accurate with Your Word! We also pray for all who receive his teaching, that they would understand, personally benefit, and share what they learn with others; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. A: Amen. Children! 5 SERMON: Is Sin Deceiving You? Hebrews 3:12-19 ESV 1. Warning: 12 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 2.
