2 The experience of community is much more significant than many of us realize.

4 ~~ Jean Vanier, Community and Growth When the husband or wife asks too much of the other and wants the other to fulfill all their emotional needs, there is serious danger of marital breakdown. And that is what we are witnessing today: families are breaking up. Stark individualism increases and a terrible loneliness sets in which finds a certain relief in working harder for more money and more success, and in more distractions, yet still cut off from relationship. But these ultimately push people into an even deeper l loneliness. And so they fall into a vicious circle alternating between inner pain and efforts to escape it."

6 Ephesians 4: So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

17 Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."

18 Fourth principle of growth in community- Model important behaviors and the heart underneath

19 Lev Vygotsky s Theories of Learning Vygotsky suggested that knowledge is constructed in the midst of our interactions with others and is shaped by the skills and abilities valued in a particular culture. He argued that language is the main tool that promotes thinking, develops reasoning, and supports cultural activities like reading and writing. Vygotsky noticed that children solve problems with their speech, as well as with their eyes and hands. They talk aloud to guide their own thinking processes. Eventually, as children mature, the words they speak aloud to solve problems and to ask for guidance become internalized.

27 Therese of Lisieux It was so obvious that I didn't love my sisters as God loves them. I realize now, that perfect love means putting up with other people's shortcomings, feeling no surprise at their weaknesses, finding encouragement even in the slightest evidence of good qualities in them.
