6 Have you ever been on a journey? My name s Dave, and I ve been on a lot of journeys in my life. Everywhere around the world, I ve seen how God helps people who are in need. He uses people, places, and things to show Himself to others. In this story, you ll follow a little box on a very long journey. As the box moves on, I challenge you to look closely and try to see how God was part of the journey all along. Enjoy your journey!

7 Somewhere in the world, a little boy was hungry. He prayed to God for help.

9 Somewhere else in the world, another little boy listened as his teacher told about poor children. He wanted to help, so he asked for an empty box

10 and the box moved on.

11 The boy asked his mother if he could help a poor child. Together, they went to the market and filled their box with good food...

12 and the box moved on.

13 The boy and his mother and father prayed for the child who would receive their box. Then, they donated the box

14 and the box moved on.

15 At the warehouse, volunteers and workers made the box ready for shipment

16 and the box moved on.

17 A truck driver drove the sea container to the port.

18 The sea container was loaded onto a large ship.

19 The ship sailed on the ocean to a far away country

20 and the box moved on.

21 In the far away country, a pastor carried the box to a village where many poor children live

22 and the box moved on.

23 He carried the box to the home of a little boy.

24 The pastor told him about God s love for each of His children.

25 The box stayed put

26 and the boy thanked God.

27 Seek and Find Did you look closely and see the ways God brought the box to the little boy? Flip back through the book and find the images from these hints and clues. Let s go volunteer today! They ve got so much for us to do! Our hard work will feel like play, Serving kids like me and you! A caterpillar grow and grows Snug inside his warm cocoon. Like when Jesus Christ arose, New life will appear real soon. One day, friends came from afar, Telling kids about God above. They sang. They gave. They played guitar, And left a fuzzy friend to love. Today you may be small in size And sad that you re not 10 feet tall But you are special in God s eyes And with Him, you can reach it all. Sixty-six books, all leather bound, Declare God s love for you and me, And how the lost can now be found, Cause Jesus came to set us free. In your head or softly speaking, With closed eyes and folded hands, Thanking, praising, asking, seeking, God will hear and understand. There s a bible verse I know, (I think it is my favorite one) About how much God loved us so, And gave His one and only son.

28 When you have a heavy load That s filled with something good to share, Thank God for an open road That goes from here to over there. Someone brought a box of food. It made him strong and tasted yummy. With every single bite he chewed, He thanked God for his full tummy. The sky above, the deep below, We glide across the ocean blue, Some friends swim by to say, Hello! As we keep sailing, swift and true. Round and round with wheels a spinning, A pastor on a bike rolls past. You can see the gift he s bringing Will feed the hungry boy at last. BONUS: There are so many Food Paks moving to and fro in the pages of this book! How many can you find? Pastor brought this food today For the boy and his kind mother. He helped them learn to obey, By loving God and loving others.

29 Dear Reader, You may have noticed that the box in this story is pretty special. It plays a key role in meeting the needs of a little boy and his family. But the box is truly just a small piece of a much bigger story. You see, the main character of this story is actually God. God hears the faithful prayer of the suffering little boy. He inspires another little boy to help. He motivates individuals to give their time and money to move boxes all over the world. He places humble leaders in local churches and breaks their hearts for the needs in their communities. So, truly the story is not about the box. It s about what God has done and is doing to meet the needs and change the lives of every child (young or old) who comes to Him and humbly asks. That s why Children s Hunger Fund exists.
