3 But for the first time in history, we can identify the people groups that remain untouched by the gospel. We can get there in our generation! But that 'last part of the journey may be the hardest. t will take all of us-our churches, our missionaries, our national partners, our Great Commission partners. Southern Baptists must continue to increase their giving to support missionaries through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. They must pray strategically. And they must own the Great Commission as never before to see that all peoples know Him. May the peoples praise you, o GOD; may all the peoples praise you. (Psalm 67:3, NV) Southern Baptists have followed God's lead to focus attention on bringing all the world's peoples to Him. They have prayed. They have given to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering so missionaries can plant their lives on the field. Many churches have taken on a more direct role to reach people groups. Some have equipped other churches to join them on the journey. And God has responded to the faithfulness of His people: There is much to celebrate! Thai prisoners have the opportunity to experience a new kind of freedom. Cuban Baptists are being trained to disciple new believers in thousands of churches. Hearts are opening in China, even in isolated mountain villages. A respected national doctor is leading believers to plant churches in Turkey. Young people in Zambia are turning away from a worldly lifestyle that often leads to ADS. Ay~W~The.Y~Yet1 Not-yet: Page 6 ABOUT THOSE CHRSTMAS PARTES... Please telephone the church office when your class or organization schedules the Christmas party and we will print the information in weekly updates. Also, remember to turn in an event planning arrangement form if you will need special set up of tables, chairs, etc. CHRSTMAS LOVE OFFERNG Christmas is an appropriate time to expre1;s our gratitude and appreciation to the staff ttjrough a designated love offering. Please pick up a love offering envelope at the nformation Desk in the foyer outside the Worship Center or in the Community Life Center. ---~-» ch~4&?/uu 8~{J/~21' ~(J~ Make this a family time of preparation for the advent season as you bring your children and teenagers to decorate the Worship Center and Christmas Tree.
4 SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES OBTAN HGH ATTENDANCE October 3rd was C4 Sunday when each Sunday School class organized for outreach by setting a goal of 165 in high attendance. The C4 Day, October 3rd High Attendance was 153! The 153 is the highest attendance this Sunday School year! We are fortunate to have good Bible teachers for adult classes who teach and coordinate the class. We are blessed to have willing class leaders who went the extra mile to make sure all members of the classes and potential members were contacted and felt welcome and needed for the C4 Sunday. Thanks to everyone who made C4 Sunday a success. Especially the leaders in Adult 4 Young Adults and men who cooked the barbecue and the women and Hospitality Committee who carried the load for the noon meal. The Outreach Coordinators are important for a class to function properly. Most of our adult classes have two or more Outreach Leaders who form the Outreach team. The Care/Prayer Coordinator works with the Care Group Leaders who form the nreach team. Group Leaders help the class family to stay together and to grow by giving careful attention tot heir task. The class Secretary, by effective use of records, enables Group Leaders, Outreach Leaders and teachers to have necessary information. Most classes have a Fellowship Coordinator. A Leadership Handbook containing team leadership officers and responsibilities of each class Leadership Officer, a Class Directory, and Church Directory are available in each class room. Because each class organized at least one month in advance of October 3rd C4 Sunday, the result was a high attendance, enthusiasm and enjoyment in serving. The same results can be produced each and every Sunday as the class functions as a vital living organism designed for outreach and ministry SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS GOALS FOR C 4 SUNDAY OCTOBER 3rd CLASS GOAL ATTENDANCE Preschool Birth -3' 3 -~ ;0' Preschool 4 & Grades 1, 2, Grades 4, Grades 6, 7, 8 20, S 13 Grades 9, 10, Adult 3 & 4 (26.;~0) Adult 2 Women (35-62) Adult 2 Coed (51-69) ; " Adult 1 Coed = (70+) Adult 1 Men (70+) 8 4 Adult 1 Women 1(70+) General Officers 7 14 TOTALS Page 5

6 f You're Thankful, Say So! magine a Worship service in which people gather from all over the world for the sole purpose of thanking God for His goodness and grace. And imagine the Worship leaders standing at the platform in the Worship service and leading the vast congregation to sing joyful songs of 'thanksgiving. And then, moving he direction of the service toward testimonies, the Worship leaders ask: "Who would be willing to express your gratitude to God? f the Lord's been good to you stand up and say so!" That's how Psalm 107 begins. And it continues with the worship leader encouraging us to show God how thankful we are for what He has done for us. f you thank God for rescuing you, SAY SO! (Psalm 107:4-5). God showed you the way home when you finally turned to Him. You owe God a debt of gratitude because He put you on the right path. How do you show Him that you are thankful." f you thank God for liberating you, SAY S,O! (Psalm 107:10-16). God set us free by paying the price for our liberty with the life of His Son. How do you express your gratitude to Him for the freedom you have in Christ? f you thank God for restoring you, SAY SO! (Psalm 107:17-22). The split second that saved you came from God's hand, and you know it. You have never forgotten how your life has been different because God restored your life to you, What have you done to demonstrate to Him how grateful you are to Him for giving your life back to you? f you thank God for protecting you, SAY SO! Psalm 107:23-32). Storms come in different shapes and sizes. Some of them may be literal, and others may be relational, financial, or medical. But all of them share one common feature: they scare us because they leave us helpless. All we can do is cry out to God for help. You probably recall when you begged Him for help, and He protected you. He calmed your storm and guided you to safety. How have you shown Him your gratitude? This Thanksgiving season it's your turn to stand up and testify about God's grace to you in Christ Jesus. f God has reached into your life and made an eternal difference, then express your gratitude to Him. f the Lord has redeemed you stand up and say so! invite you to worship on November 7th, 14th, and 21st. as we will' focus on Psalm 107 as our call to worship and several will have the opportunity to stand up and say so in personal testimonies with grateful hearts. This is the time to say what God has done. With a grateful heart to be your pastor, Pastor Moore PS: This year Crestview will host the Windcrest NValzem Road Community Thanksgiving Service. Let's join hands with other believers in the community and give thanks November 18th at 7:00pm. 7 ADVENT CELEBRATON BEGNS NOVEMBER 28TH Advent begins the last Sunday of November. The November 28th Worship service will kickoff the four Sundays of Advent. Many Crestview members have discovered the joy of observing Advent. f you have-. n't, we encourage you to try it. Your life will be enriched. Advent is a Latin word meaning to come. Christians should prepare themselves both mentally and spiritually for Jesus to come into the world. We celebrate the birth of Christ on Christmas day, but our preparation begins with Advent. Advent is the first season of the Christian year, and it begins four Sundays before Christmas Day.,t is easy for the rea'i meaning of Christmas to be forgotten in the rush of the holiday season. The beauty and wisdom of Advent is the opportunity it gives us to stand back and experience the many spiritual joys of Christmas. How marvelous it is to consider that Christian families all over the world are drawn closer during Advent because of God's loving gift-jesus Christ. The first candle in the Advent wreath at church will be lit Sunday, November 28th. t would be a great time to plan for your family of all generations to attend and to invite your neighbors and friends to begin Advent season with you in worship. ~ ~ To order a Poinsettia n Honor or n Memory Ofsomeone, fill out this form and turn it in at the church office or place it in an offering plate along with your designated check made payable to Crestview Baptist Church. f you are purchasing a plant with cash, please use an envelope with your designation clearly marked.
