5 ABOUT Stairway COLLEGE Stairway College is for people of all ages and every generation who are passionate about carrying and expressing His presence to the world around us. You will be drawn into deeper places of intimacy, higher places of worship, new places of experience and rich encounters with God. Stairway Church began in 1990 as Christian City Church Camberwell. Planted by Peter and Lyn McHugh and a small team from Sydney. We marvel at the way our own congregation are embracing who they are in Jesus, co-labouring with Him and releasing the kingdom in their daily lives for the benefit of those around them. 12 Ministry Stream core Subjects GOD SPACES KEYS TO PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION God Spaces is a prophetic process to discern what God is wanting to tell you, show you, or give you. You will experience healing, release, revelation and more as you go to where God is rather than where He is not. You will learn to use God Spaces in all areas of life your business, marriage, family, study, your future, and more. This course will expand your creativity in God and develop your relationship with Him as you are equipped to use God Spaces to minister to yourself and others. INTIMACY WITH GOD God longs to reveal Himself as a Father who is both friend and counsellor in every aspect of our lives. Discover how to access the sounds and sights of heaven and express them to those around you through the creative arts. You will experience a rich atmosphere of His presence, Holy Spirit encounters, excellent artistic training and intimacy with Jesus. You will be moved and transformed by the empowering presence of God. So why choose the Arts stream? Be empowered in prophetic worship, songwriting, the theology of worship, working in a team and leadership skills. The College s facilitators are creative artists in their own rights, and/or staff of Stairway Church who understand and work with the creative artist in the ministry environment. 16 ARTS Stream core Subjects REDEEMING A SOUND DISCOVER PROPHETIC WORSHIP Grow in your sensitivity to the heartbeat of heaven. This highly practical course explores prophetic worship, redemption and transformation. It is for those passionate about seeing the transformation of people, cities and nations through prophetic worship. Understand the significance of redeeming a sound and be equipped to be a world changer and learn how to flow with the Holy Spirit to release what God is saying through music. Topics include: Creating an atmosphere that brings breakthrough and transformation; THE GOD ARTIST New and creative ways to express our worship abound in heaven. God longs to impart them to us here and now, so we can worship Him anew. Learn the fundamentals of worship, the purpose of art in the church and how to use art prophetically. This course will help you become a ʻGod Artistʼ in any creative arena. Your understanding of worship will be developed and expanded, and your creative side will be drawn out - it s in all of us. For generations Godʼs people have been inspired by songwriters and psalmists who passionately express the Fatherʼs heart. This course is designed for you to learn how to connect with heaven s heartbeat and proclaim it! You will engage with the presence of God and develop heart felt lyrics, psalms, melodies, riffs and arrangements to inspire our generation. Chris Little elective LEADING IN THE CREATIVE ARTS Leading and empowering creative people means more than being the lead singer in a Sunday service. There are non creative related responsibilities such as: people to guide, teams to build, conflicts to resolve, services to arrange, meetings and much more. This course will give you practical tools which will help you overcome the tension of being a leader and being an artist. Come and be empowered to nurture the leader within you. 18 MASTERCLASS MASTERCLASS SUBJECTS Introducing Stairway College Masterclass subjects. These advanced courses build upon the established Stairway College accredited subjects in the Ministry and Arts streams. Experience the more of God as you develop deeper revelation of Kingdom Culture. Pre-requisites: Each Masterclass subject has at least one corresponding accredited subject that is a prerequisite. It is important to be aware that Masterclass subjects are not associated with accreditation. Topics covered include: Keys to enable people of other cultures experience a supernatural God Loving and engaging with a radically different culture Explore current mission expressions globally You will benefit from the large range of practical elements including being part of a short term trip (approximately two weeks) to a majority world country. Undertaking this course will empower you to partner with God and join a world wide presentation of the kingdom gospel. PREREQUISITE: Any Ministry or Arts stream subject. 21 internships FIRST YEAR INTERNSHIPS Designed to further expand upon your in class training; internships give you hands on experience in a church ministry setting. As a first year intern you will: - Complete your studies as a full time student eight subjects in one year. - Be involved in a ministry team in your home church. - Be mentored by a key leader of your local church who is experienced in ministry, leadership and life in God. SECOND YEAR INTERNSHIPS DEVELOPING KINGDOM CULTURE A Stairway College second year internship will give you an opportunity to develop deeper kingdom culture in your life. Our heart is to see an army of people empowered and equipped to express His Presence in our world. As a second year intern you will experience acceleration as you boldly step into all God has for you. You will be empowered and equipped to minister with power in your community, your church, our city and our nation. As a second year intern you will: - Complete two Masterclass subjects to further enhance your kingdom revelation and spiritual equipping (see page 16). - Be involved in a ministry team at Stairway Church. - Be mentored by a staff member of Stairway Church who is experienced in ministry, leadership and life in God. Our internships are personlised. We recognise that God has made you to be unique and it is for this reason that the internship will be personalised to meet the individual needs of both the intern and the mentor. Enrolments close on the dates listed on page 5. According to State Department Education Requirements, entry as an accredited student (ie. those who study to gain certification) requires completion of Year 10 or higher level of study. These requirements may be waived for mature aged students (age 21+). There are no academic admission requirements for non accredited students. ACCREDITATION AND AWARDS Stairway College is a Training Centre for the Australian Centre for Advanced Studies Inc (ACAS) in providing Nationally Recognised Training (NRT) for the Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology (30772QLD). ACAS is a Nationally Recognised Training Organisation in Western Australia and is listed on the National Training Information Service. Provider No ABN: Statements of Attainment will be provided to all students completing units of competency upon request. Students who complete the requirements of the certificate will be awarded with the Certificate IV in Christian Ministry and Theology (30772QLD) by ACAS in association with Stairway College. POLICIES & PROCEDURES STUDENT ORIENTATION Stairway College is committed to your development and growth. It is important that you attend orientation to ensure you get the most from your training. Orientation is held at the beginning of each term/ intensive. Orientation will cover: An introduction Stairway College Operation of Stairway College, Student Support & Learning Centre information Outline of Stairway College s policies regarding equity, bullying, OH&S, RPL, mutual recognition, fees and refunds Introduction of key staff Further information on these topics can be found in the Student Handbook, which is a must-read for all Stairway College students. STUDENT RECORDS A student can access their personal records through the College office by appointment. ASSESSMENT Either the subject facilitator, or another qualified, experienced assessor appointed by the College will assess participants submissions. If a participant is assessed as Not Yet Competent (NYC), the assessor will give clear reason as to why, and instruction on what s required to achieve competency. If the participant is repeatedly assessed as NYC, the assessor Will provide ACAS with a written report along with the assessment tool. A student may dispute their NYC assessment through a written application to ACAS (as detailed in the grievance procedure). CANCELLATION Cancellation prior to commencement will incur a $30 administration fee. Additional fees are applicable if cancellation is received after the first class and if cancelling more than one subject. See the College website for details. COLLEGE POLICIES MUTUAL RECOGNITION Upon application, discussion and interviews, credits are granted based on certificates issued by other RTOʼs as either mutual recognition or RPL. Applications can be made through the Director of Studies. RECOGNISED PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) RPL is available for all qualifications given by ACAS. RPL is a process through which a student applies to have an existing competency recognised within a qualification. The process will take roughly 2-4 weeks. To apply to RPL and for more information, contact the Director of Studies. DISPUTES Stairway College is committed to relationships. The College will do all it can to resolve any disputes that arise. All parties involved are expected to maintain confidentiality. Students and staff should initially attempt to resolve a conflict at the level at which it occurred. If it cannot be resolved at this level, an independent mediator will review the matter. The decision of the mediator will be communicated to both parties in writing and is final. Stairway College will ensure that all programs and courses are relevant, accessible, fair and inclusive for all who agree with the philosophy and training levels of the College, abiding by the College s code of practice. PRIVACY POLICY Stairway College acknowledges and respects the privacy of all individuals. Information gathered by the College shall be subject to the following: the individual knows of and consents to the collection of information the information shall be used for the purpose for which it was collected no third-party disclosure without the individuals consent (unless required by law or for the individuals safety) MEDIA On occasion Stairway College classes will be recorded via various media, including photography and filming. Images of the people in attendance or participating in the classes may be used on our website, in resources and for other promotional purposes.
