2 1) Satan is Released from the abyss. Isaiah 14:13-14 (NLT) For you said to yourself, 'I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God's stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. [14] I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.' Revelation 20:3 + 7 (NLT) 3 The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he must be released for a little while. 7 When the thousand years end, Satan will be let out of his prison. A) Final Rebellion: People refuse to surrender to Jesus as LORD one last time. Rev. 20: 8 (NLT) He will go out to deceive the nations from every corner of the earth B) Final Battle: satan and people try and overtake God. Rev. 20: 8 (NLT) He will go out to deceive the nations from every corner of the earth, which are called Gog and Magog. He will gather them together for battle a mighty host, as numberless as sand along the shore. C) Final Blow: The LORD goes undefeated with yet another and a final Victory! Rev. 20:9 (NLT) And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God's people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them. Rev. 20:10 (NIV) And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 2) Great White Throne Judgment: Where God Issues His final and Eternal Judgment. (This is NOT for Raptured Christians, Tribulation Christians or Millennial Christians nor Israelites who believed in the Messiah who would come). Remember, for believers any judgment against us was fulfilled by Jesus crucifixion and resurrection. Colossians 2:13-15 (NLT) 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. *Who is Judged At This Final Judgment? A) Fallen angels/demons. Matthew 25:41 (NLT) "Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his demons! B) All Unsaved people throughout History. Revelation 20:11-13 (NLT) 11 And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. C) What about Millennial Saints? Luke 16:19-23NLT) 19 Jesus said, There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. 20 At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. 21 As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man s table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores. 22 Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also 2

3 died and was buried, 23 and his soul went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side. Luke 16:22-23 (NIV) 22 "The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In hell, where he was in torment Luke 16:22-23 (KJV) 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments Luke 16:22-23 (NKJV) 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 And in Hades (the realm of the dead), being in torment, Luke 16:22-23 (NASB) 22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment Luke 16:24-31 (NLT) 24 The rich man shouted, Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames. 25 But Abraham said to him, Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there. 27 Then the rich man said, Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father s home. 28 For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don t end up in this place of torment. 29 But Abraham said, Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote. 30 The rich man replied, No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God. 31 But Abraham said, If they won t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won t listen even if someone rises from the dead. Luke 23:42-43 (NLT) Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom." [43] And Jesus replied, "I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise." 2 Cor. 5:8 (NLT) Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. Rev. 1:18 (NIV) I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. 3) Various Temporary Holding Places Of The Souls Of All Who Have Ever Died Up To Great White Throne Judgment: A) Sheol: Old Testament and Hebrew word to primarily describe the grave, the underworld or the place of the dead. Sheol is generally NOT distinguishing between Godly or Ungodly dead souls. Psalm 139:8 (AMP) 8 If I ascend up into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol (the place of the dead), behold, You are there. B) Hades: New Testament and a Greek word to translate the Hebrew word sheol. Hades also means the underworld, the realm of the dead also called grave. C) Sheol and Hades: Are both words used in the Bible to describe two things; the actual grave for Physical bodies (regardless if saved or unsaved) and they are both also used to describe the place of the ungodly souls of the dead. HOWEVER, hades the New Testament word DOES further explain these places because hades has a more definitive definition of distinguishing it as the place for ungodly dead souls. 3

Revelation 20:14 (KJV) 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire Revelation 20:14 (NASB) 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire D) Hell/Hades: Hell is the word Hades in Greek. Therefore, this is the side of Sheol and Hades that is for the souls of the ungodly and/or non-believing dead. E) Abraham s Bosom / Paradise: Is the side of Sheol/Hades (simply meaning condition of having died) that is reserved only for the souls of the righteous or believing dead. Luke 23:43 (NLT) 43 And Jesus replied, I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise. 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 (NLT) 2 I was caught up to the third heaven 4 that I was caught up to paradise F) Heaven: This is Heaven as we know it now (The Presents of God) and is also referred to as Abraham s Bosom / Paradise. Keep in mind that at some point in time, these names for God s presents will be remembered as the old Heaven because God will have made a New Heaven. ** Heaven/Abraham s Bosom/Paradise: is currently where the conscious Souls of the righteous dead reside on this good side of death. This is where the souls of both Jews who held to faith in God for a Messiah to come (yet who died in that belief before Jesus came), and likewise, where Believers/Christians who have died currently are. G) Tartaros= A current, yet temporary detention or holding place primarily for demons (not human souls) awaiting judgment. It is thought of as the deepest part or pit or abyss of Hades/Hell. Jude 1:6 (NLT) 6 And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment. 2 Peter 2:4 (NLT) 4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment. Romans 2:5 (NLT) 5 But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God s righteous judgment will be revealed. Philip. 2:10-11 (NIV) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, [11] and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 4) Books Opened. Revelation 20:12-13 (NLT) 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. Matthew 12:36-37 (NLT) 36 And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you. A) Book Of Your Life. 4

5 Luke 8:17 (NLT) 17 For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all. B) Book of Life. John 14:6 (NLT) 6 Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. Romans 6:23 (NLT) 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10:9-10 & 13 (NLT) 9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. 13 For Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 (NLT) 9 The Lord isn t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. 5) Only Two Final Places For All Beings For All Eternity- Final conscious existing place of body and soul for each person who has ever existed. You are locked in to only one of these two with no chance of going from one to the other. A) Lake Of Fire- Reserved for Devil, Demons, Evil and anyone who ever died in having rejected the LORD. Rev. 20:13-14 (NIV) The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. [14] Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. John 14:1-4 (NLT) 1 Don t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going. Matthew 25:34 (NLT) Then the King will say to those on the right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Matthew 25:41 (NLT) "Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his demons! ~4 Faulty views on Hell/Lake of Fire and Punishment of sin~ 1) Universalism- Believes everyone will be saved in the end whether they knew Jesus or not. All religions lead to the same. *This is a Heretical (False) View proven false by John 3:16 and John 14:6 John 3:16 (NLT) 16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 2) Annihilationism- Believes when unbelievers die they cease to exist anymore. There is no hell. *This is a Heretical (False) View proven false by Matthew 25:46. Matthew 25:46 (NLT) 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life." 5

6 3) Restorationism- Is a form of universalism that believes there is a time of punishment but that hell is temporary. *This is a Heretical (False) View proven false by Matthew 25:46. Matthew 25:46 (NLT) 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life." 4) Second Probationism- Believes unbelievers will be offered a second chance to receive Christ after death. *This is a Heretical (False) View proven false by Hebrews 9:27 and Luke 16:27-31 Lazarus and the rich man. Hebrews 9:27 (NLT) And just as it is destined that each person dies only once and after that comes judgment, B) New Heaven, New Earth and New Jerusalem- The primary places reserved for Angels, Creatures of God and both Body and Soul of all who have ever existed that submitted too and trust the LORD. This is a forever conscious, physical and spiritual existence in the presence of God. Additionally, people are not confined to these places, it is just thought of home base. B.i) New Heaven- Actual Heaven is the dwelling place of God. Most agree the new heaven here means new heavens or new heavenlies as in the universe, planets and stars since the old ones. Revelation 20:11 (NLT) 11 And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. Psalm 102:25-26 (NLT) 25 Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. 26 They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them. 2 Peter 3:7-13 (NLT) And God has also commanded that the heavens and the earth will be consumed by fire on the day of judgment, when ungodly people will perish... [10] But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to judgment. [11] Since everything around us is going to melt away, what holy, godly lives you should be living! [12] You should look forward to that day and hurry it along the day when God will set the heavens on fire and the elements will melt away in the flames. [13] But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world where everyone is right with God. Rev. 21:1 (NLT) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared Revelation 21:1-2 (AMP) 1 THEN I saw a new sky (heaven) and a new earth, for the former sky and the former earth had passed away (vanished), and there no longer existed any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, all arrayed like a bride beautified and adorned for her husband; B.ii) New Earth- Earth FULLY restored or an actual brand new Earth made to be eternal- A Physical Place where we will Consciously, Physically and Spiritual exist for eternity. Rev. 21:1 (NLT) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. B.iii) New Jerusalem- The Eternal City and Capitol on the 6

7 New Earth where God s very presence will be with us here on the New Earth. Rev. 21:1-2 (NLT) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. [2] And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a beautiful bride prepared for her husband. Revelation 21:15-21 (NLT) 15 The angel who talked to me held in his hand a gold measuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 When he measured it, he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, its length and width and height were each 1,400 miles. 17 Then he measured the walls and found them to be 216 feet thick (according to the human standard used by the angel). 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city was pure gold, as clear as glass. 19 The wall of the city was built on foundation stones inlaid with twelve precious stones: the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were made of pearls each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass. Rev. 22:1-4 (NLT) And the angel showed me a pure river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, [2] coursing down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations. [3] No longer will anything be cursed. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. [4] And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. Rev. 21: (NLT) I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, the home of God is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. [4] He will remove all of their sorrows, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. For the old world and its evils are gone forever."[12] "See, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me 7
