1 Pray for a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. Imagine a world where kids have the chance to build, explore, and discover that each of them were individually hand crafted by our Creator God, uniquely designed for His amazing purposes. Maker Fun Factory will spark creativity with interactive decorations and experiences all designed to help them explore, learn, and grow. Each day one memorable Bible Point is reinforced throughout each station making it easy to remember and apply long after VBS is over. We want kids to know that God has very special plans for each of his children and to get excited in learning more about His plans for their lives. This June, Wayside will be hosting Vacation Bible School with a curriculum entitled Maker Fun Factory Created by God, Built for a Purpose. We invite you to use this Prayer Guide to pray for our team and every facet of VBS, June 12-16, Together, we can experience the blessings of God as He changes hearts and lives to better understand His love and to be more sensitive to follow His plans. 2 Please pray that the VBS Lead Team will have wisdom and unity as they plan and prepare: No detail would be overlooked during the planning phase. The team will stay focused on God s plans and purposes as they seek His guidance in every aspect of the process. There will be an abundance of volunteers, especially crew guides. All VBS workers will depend on and be sensitive to the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

3 Bible Point: God made you. Key Bible Verse: "Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex." (Psalm 139:14) Bible Story: God lovingly creates people. (Psalm 139; Genesis 1:26-2:4) Prayer Requests All aspects of the first day will run smoothly. Children registering on Monday will be placed quickly. Everyone leading and helping with VBS will be filled with joy and enthusiasm. The children will be excited to come to VBS and will feel welcomed, included, and valued. The nurseries will be happy and peaceful all week. God will protect the health and well-being of everyone involved with VBS, and each person will be able to attend every day. Children will learn that God lovingly created each person for a very special purpose. Children will begin to understand that we can always trust God to lead us because He is always with us to help and guide us according to His perfect plans for our lives. Bible Point: God is for you. Key Bible Verse: "If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" (Romans 8:31) Bible Story: Rahab believes in God's mighty power. (Joshua 1-2) Arrival and dismissal will run smoothly. The Holy Spirit will lead in everything that is said and done, giving light, wisdom, flexibility, and joy. Volunteers will know God better and love Him more through their serving. Children will understand that we never have to be afraid because Jesus is all-powerful and always with us. As the children take part in Sound Wave Sing and Play daily, they will be excited about the music, the words, and the lessons they are learning about the Lord. The Bible lessons will be easily understood each day. Leaders and helpers will be sensitive to the needs of each child. Children will be excited to share the Bible stories and truths with their family and friends when they get home. The Bible Memory Buddies will help the children to memorize the verses for each day.

4 Bible Point: God is always with you. Key Bible Verse: "The Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9) Bible Story: God is with Gideon. (Judges 6:11-7:25) Prayer Requests The kids will begin to understand that when we follow God s plan, He will bless us. Each leader and helper will have joy and enthusiasm. God will give wisdom in presenting the Bible lesson and how to answer the children s questions. All of the stories, songs, activities, and snacks will help the children to learn and remember that God has very special plans for our lives and is with us wherever we go. Children will be excited about supporting Children s Hunger Fund by working and raising money to provide food boxes for children in the United States and around the world. Children will be encouraged by the KidVid Cinema videos showing real stories of children and how they trusted God. Bible Point: God will always love you. Key Bible Verse: "Your unfailing love will last forever." (Psalm 89:2) Bible Story: Jesus dies and comes back to life. (Luke 22:66-24:12) The Gospel presentation in the small groups and assembly will be strong and easily understood. Children will learn that Jesus willingly suffered and died to take the punishment for our sins; that He arose from the dead because He is all powerful; and that He lives forever so that we can know Him and experience His love and blessings forever. Unbelieving children will trust Jesus to be their Savior. Believing children will grow in their faith and desire to follow Jesus plan for their lives daily. Children will understand that when they confess their sins to Jesus, He will forgive them. God will give discernment to those counseling the children who make salvation decisions. Children will discuss ways that they can share Jesus love with other people they know.

5 Bible Point: God made you for a reason. Key Bible Verse: "'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord." (Jeremiah 29:11) Bible Story: Abigail brings peace. (1 Samuel 25) Each child will leave VBS knowing that Jesus loves them unconditionally; that He has very special plans for their lives; and that He will stay with them forever to guide, provide, and protect them. Children will have a new awareness that whenever they are upset or nervous about anything, they can quietly ask Jesus to help them and He will bring peace to their hearts as they trust Him. Each child will learn that when Jesus asks us to do something, He will give us His power and guidance to complete the task so we will trust Him more and know that He is our perfect guide. The kids will learn that when we are not following God s plans, He will sometimes use others to show us our mistakes and He will always guide us back to His plan. God will give discernment to those counseling the children who make salvation decisions. Lives will be changed, according to Jesus plan, and the children will be excited to share Jesus love with others. God will help the children remember the Bible verses and God s promises for life. The new, young believers will have someone to help them to continue growing in the Lord. Unchurched families will desire to find a church home and grow in their faith. There will be unchurched families who visit Wayside because of VBS; that they will feel welcomed; and that some will choose to become part of the Wayside family. Volunteers will sense God s pleasure with their efforts, and He will bless them. Volunteers will feel appreciated and desire to participate next year. Thank you for being a vital part of our VBS team. With your prayer support, we have shared the love of Christ with every child who came to VBS. We know that God is faithful to answer our prayers in ways that we could never think or imagine, and we trust the Lord to continue to guide us and provide for the needs of these children daily. We are grateful for your prayer support and pray that the Lord will bless you abundantly.
