9 THE COMMITTEE ON CONGREGATIONAL NURTURE REPORT TO PRESBYTERY FEBRUARY 4, 2017 The Committee on Congregational Nurture met in Willmar on January 21 st during the CHARTING THE COURSE 2017 Gathering. The Committee worked to assimilate new members into the committee. We reviewed our purpose, our mission, our ministry. We then aligned ourselves to serve you, the Presbytery of Minnesota Valleys, during Our goals for 2017 include the forging of meaningful relationships with the congregations of the presbytery, their pastoral leaders and those who are continuing members of this presbytery. During the course of the year, each congregation and their pastoral leaders, will receive a personal, face-to-face meeting. When possible, we will strive to attend worship services and/or special congregational functions. The pastoral leader and clerk of session of each congregation will be contacted regularly throughout the year. The Committee on Congregational Nurture serves as the deacons of the Presbytery. We are concerned about the health and welfare of each of our congregations and our spiritual leaders. We ARE NOT spying on those whom we serve. The information that you share with us is held in strict confidence by the members of this Committee. Appropriate information and requests for desired resources and particular services will be shared with the other entities of the Presbytery only with the approval of those who share this information with us. We are eager to walk with you as you minister in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. We are more than happy to seek out those resources which you discover that you need in order to carry out your mission. It is our privilege to encourage the building of relationships between our congregations and the larger church; which is a benefit for us as we live out our connectional unity together as members of the Body of Christ. We look forward to celebrating your ministries with you and seek to keep you, your congregations, and your ministries in our prayers. In addition to the two hybrid face-to-face meetings in conjunction with our May 16 and August 15 Presbytery Meetings, we will utilize the efficiency of having ZOOM Video Conference Meetings on March 23 rd, October 26 th and December 7 th.
