All are invited to join us to study: The Dangerous Dozen: 12 Christian who Challenged the status quo but taught us to live like Jesus We are gearing up for the annual Lenten Fish Fry scheduled to begin the Friday after Ash Wednesday, February 12. Organizational meetings will be held in Davis Hall Wednesday, January 13 at 11AM and Wednesday, January 27 at 11AM For 2016, our monthly Lunch Bunch will meet on the second Thursday each month at various locations! Beginning: When: Thursday, January 14, 2016 Time: 12:30 pm Where: Marlow s Tavern, 881 Ridgewalk Pkwy., Suite 108, Woodstock, GA 30188, Details: Marlow s is between 5 Guys and Which Wich on the Parkway, NOT inside the outlet mall area. Confirmation Classes for Youth: All classes will run from 4-5 PM on Sunday afternoon. The projected dates are as follows: 5. January January January 31 Please advise if any of these dates cause a hardship. The class will use at least three texts: 1. The Holy Bible 2. The Book of Common Prayer 3. My Faith, My Life by Jenifer Gamber ($10- $15 on Amazon. The class will follow this text. Confirmation/ Reception Classes for Adults will be scheduled accordingly and will make use of the adult version of the Jenifer Gamber text, Your Faith, Your Life.

Real Love Group Sunday s at 4PM in Davis The next few sundays we will be talking about how we can do a better job feeling love and getting loving support so that we can be more loving. Diocesan Event coming up: Dr. Amy-Jill Levine on "Sacred Words: Universal Messages" Friday, January 8 Saturday, January 9; All Day Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church and Temple Sinai Sandy Springs, GA. Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, Vanderbilt University professor of New Testament and Jewish studies, is guest speaker for a weekend of teaching and worship at Holy. Innocents' Episcopal Church and neighboring Temple Sinai in Sandy Springs. All are invited to participate. Check out the diocesan website for more details.

This past Sunday was our first time back since the holidays. It was a very laid back day. We mostly planned for our youth Sunday coming up Sunday January 24, We began to plan the Sunday by specifying all the things each of us will be doing and we also chose the music we will be singing that Sunday. Some important things to keep in mind, registration for New Beginnings #35 and Happening #65 are open. It's important to register soon because those dates are coming fast!! I will be at Camp Mikell for both of these weekends and I would love to see our youth there! Keep in mind these are the last retreats for this Calendar year. After this, the next retreats won't be until late this year in the fall. Hyvenson Joseph who will speak about a ministry known as Food For the Poor which provides direct relief to the poor throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Fr. Joseph, a native of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was ordained a priest in 2004 in the Diocese of Southeast Florida. He currently serves as priest-in-charge at St. Philips s Episcopal Church in Pompano Beach, Florida. Having seen firsthand the work of Food for the Poor in his own native land, Fr. Joseph will share his own personal witness about this particular mission to care for the destitute and a means of living out the gospel mandate to love one another. Today, our interdenominational Christian ministry serves the poor in 17 countries throughout the Caribbean and Latin America. Thanks to our faithful donors, we are able to provide food, housing, healthcare, education, fresh water, emergency relief, microenterprise solutions and much more. We are proud to have maintained fundraising and administrative costs of less than 5% of our expenses; more than 95% of all donations go directly to programs that help the poor. Our faith inspires us to be an organization built on compassion, and motivated by love. Our mission is to bring relief to the poorest of the poor in the countries where we serve.
