2 Melbourne is Australia s second largest city of 3.2 million people. Melbourne

3 1885 SN Haskell & Co came to start work in Melbourne no SDA church in the heart of the city of Melbourne till 2003 when Gateway Adventist Centre started Per capita Melbourne has the worst ratio of SDA to the population. 20 years ago there were 5 City apartments; Today there are 240 City apartments

4 1885 S N Haskell and team came from USA to start work in Melbourne Five families came from USA to Melbourne to start the SDA work in After (a) 2 evangelistic meetings, (b) literature distribution and (c) home Bible readings 90 people formed the first church. 6 years later Ellen White came in 1891 where there were 700 members in multiple churches. North Fiztroy SDA church is the oldest church in Australia but not in the heart of the city.

A network of care groups (small group ministry) and many overseas care groups New Church in the city of Melbourne that grew from 35 to 150 in 4 years. 2 nd Church started May 08 Training Centre to train young people to be soul-winners for Christ & courses to reach the community via needs-based courses Church sponsoring the Student Club (Adventist Student On Campus) at 3 University Campuses Gateway is an Outreach center 60 baptism in 5 years

6 Our Vision Gateway will be a soulwinning and training centre that multiplies churches in 3 years.

7 What motivates people in a church? In a church, as a volunteer organisation, we mobilise the people based on a shared VISION and shared VALUES.

13 Training God brought in 3 couples to train the young people STEP 3 Let the youth of today, the youth who are growing up with the Bible in their hands, become the recipients and the channels of its life-giving energy, and what streams of blessing would flow forth to the world! 18 End-time Strategy = CARE Groups "In visions of the night, representations passed before me of a great reformatory movement among God's people. Many were praising God. The sick were healed, and other miracles were wrought. A spirit of intercession was seen, even as was manifested before the great Day of Pentecost. Hundreds and thousands were seen visiting families and opening before them the word of God. Hearts were convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit, and a spirit of genuine conversion was manifest. 55 Gateway Adventist Centre Training Centre Course 1: Conversational English New to Australia? Welcome to a course that is designed to help you practise and learn English. Understand Australian terms. The focus of the course is on conversation and there will be ample opportunity to practise what you learnt. A small class approach to ensure maximum interaction with fluent and native speakers. Dates: Sundays (23 March 8 10 am 12 noon Speaker: Pr. Wee Fong Choo & Mr. Ben Rosenberg Pr. Choo is a retired teacher and pastor. He has been a principal for many years of a High School. Ben is a second year B. Ed student at Deakin University. * Cost - $10 per person to cover material cost. ** Course in progress and space is limited to 2 3 more students for this semester. 72 Soul Winning is for YOU! God could have reached His object in saving sinners without our aid; but in order for us to develop a character like Christ s, we must share in His work.
