1 Having trouble viewing this ? St. Peter's Lutheran School A Ministry of St. Peter's Lutheran Church Pieces of the Rock October 14, Vol 24, Issue 8 Children of God: Overflowing with His Love. 1 John 3:1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Mission Statement St. Peter's Lutheran School follows Christ's command to Feed My Lambs through a challenging and well-rounded education centered on God's Word. Fit 2 Serve This year the teachers are doing a Bible Study using the devotional book called Fit 2 Serve. It is so good to be able to get together and share with each other using God's Word as our guide. As with anything, this Bible Study shows us that it takes effort to make ourselves the best individuals and, therefore, teachers that we can become. We look at three areas of fitness or wellness in our lives. These areas are physical wellness, intellectual wellness, and spiritual wellness. Each time we come together, we are asked to write down what we have done in each of these areas to keep our lives in balance and, therefore, making us as "healthy" as possible. We are also asked to look at the patterns in our lives that help us achieve wellness, and also some patterns that may need changing to help this happen. It is not easy in any of our lives no matter what we do to keep these areas of wellness in balance, but with God's help we receive encouragement and the joy to keep on trying. We know that no matter what, God accepts us as his children and we have access to his undeserved grace. One of our favorite passages has been, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God." Romans 5:1-2. God calls all of us as parents and teachers to be responsible for our own wellness so that we can be the best examples for our children to imitate. Children of God - Chapel Offerings In This Issue Mission Statement The chapel offerings for the year are designated to support Lutheran World Relief and Human Care of the Lutheran
