2 A Note from Pastor Jeff. What are we thankful for? Do we count our blessings? I was visiting some people in the church and they told me some stories for which they were thankful. They told me about the terrible storm that took out 60 pine trees on their property and their house was spared. One house nearby in a wooded area had 11 trees fall on their house! They were thankful to God to escape untouched by the wind that reached 110 miles an hour. Do we thank God for times when we physically escaped danger? The same family noticed one day a whole flock of turkeys gathering in their yard as if to remind us that God still provides what we need in abundance. What are we thankful for this year? Are we thankful that the church is back in shape thanks to the hard work of many of you? Are we thankful for our families or this beautiful weather we have had? Ask your family what they are thankful for and do not let them forget that our blessings ultimately come from God! Thank you for all of the hard work done to make the turkey dinner work and be successful! You are a great congregation! Happy thanksgiving and may God bless you! Pastor Jeff is usually in the office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. He likes to make visits in the afternoon. He is anxious to meet all of you. He can be reached at the church , or on his cell phone His is jld1517@yahoo.com Thanksgiving Prayer O God, in your Son Jesus Christ you richly bless us with all that we need, bread from the earth and the bread of heaven, which gives life to the world. Grant us one thing more: grateful hearts to sing your praise, in this world and the world to come God clothes the grass of the field and feeds the birds of the air. On behalf of the church and the world, we offer our prayers more from our need to be transformed by our awareness of them than from any need of God to be reminded of them. Free us from all fear and worry that, trusting in your goodness, we may always praise your mighty deeds and give you thanks for the bounty of your gifts. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen Thanksgiving Blessing Mix Recipe Ingredients: 2 cups Bugles brand corn snacks 2 cups small pretzels 1 cup candy corn 1 cup dried fruit bits or raisins 1 cup peanuts or sunflower seeds 1 cup M&Ms-brand chocolate candy 16 Hershey's-brand chocolate kisses

Thanks to all who stepped up and helped by paying their share. Committee reports were reviewed. They have begun to work on future programs. They are also beginning to make plans for the Advent Season. No motions were presented by committee this month. Fellowship & Hospitality/Mission & Evangelism (Norma Lance & Barb Jurs) Committee continues working on mission projects some of which are Hands of Love, Angel Tree for Christmas and Undie Sunday. Watch for more information on these projects. Several new policies on rental fees etc. have been approved and adopted with copies will be available if needed. The committee is also considering posting a sign-up sheet for donations to be used during fellowship. Please consider picking up and extra package of cookies or a bag of chips etc. and offering them for use to serve our congregation during our fellowship times on Sunday. A motion from committee to support their listed missions was approved. Stewardship, Finance & Administration/Building & Grounds (Dale Straughen, Jerry Moosmiller, Jerry Hayden & Allen Nethery) Committee has started working on their Stewardship Campaign for They will be doing Minutes for Stewardship during the month of October with Pledge Cards to be handed out on October 30 th and Dedication Sunday on November 6 th. OLD BUSINESS: The Nominating Committee has begun their work and have sent out letters to 5 members to fill 3 year Elder terms, 1 member to fill a 3 year Deacon term and 1 member to fill a 1 year Youth Elder term. Jerry Hayden will be staying on to complete the final year of a 1 year term and Maxine Green will stay on for a second 3 year term as Deacon. If you are asked please consider accepting a nomination. Just as it takes A Village To Raise A Child it takes A Session To Run The Business of the Church. The session and committees dedicate a great amount of time and effort to keep things going. It is a lot of dedication but the end result is very fulfilling. Our congregation is grateful for all the time and effort they put in. Please support your session in any way to can! NEW BUSINESS: The Go For It was given to purchase new shelving for the library. It was found that some of the old shelving had mold damage from wet during the storm. Insurance claim will cover the cost. New shelving will soon be installed and our Library will be back in order. Please continue to pray for and support our ministry teams. We look ahead to moving forward under the leadership of Pastor Jeff and know that Good Things Are In Store for Range Line Church. Submitted by Janet Moore Clerk of Session
4 Commitment to the Future Being good stewards is all about taking care of things. Mainly it is about taking care of the gifts we have received from God. Every day members of our Church practice Stewardship in many ways. Members are good stewards by keeping the Church clean, maintaining the grounds, donating coats to children in need, donating to the food pantry, organizing a Bible Study, and a hundred other acts big and small. This year we are asking all members to take care of the Church s financial needs in the same way. We have a proud past, and an even brighter future at Range Line Presbyterian Church. Be a part of that future by committing to support your Church on Dedication Sunday, November 6, The Stewardship Committee 2012 PLEDGE CARD I/We joyfully offer this pledge to support Range Line Community Presbyterian Church and its ministries in If circumstances change in the coming year, please feel free to contact Barb Jurs, Treasurer with any adjustments. Bring them to the church anytime. HANDS OF LOVE Terry Little originally from Eagle Creek is associated with an orphanage in Africa called Hands of Love which currently has about 95 children. ANGEL TREE We will once again have an angel tree in the narthex for families in our community. It will be going up around Thanksgiving. MISSION 52 Also remember our ongoing Mission 52. There are envelopes in the pews for that offering, which if you just gave $1.00 a week would pay your share of the per capita and mission pledge that we send to the Presbytery of Wabash Valley for their work and also Synod and General Assembly. UNDIE SUNDAY What s this?? Watch for an announcement about this unique mission project. Your Mission committee is full of ideas to help our community and our world. Please pick and choose which projects you are able to help out with. The Fellowship Hall looks wonderful!! THANK YOU to all the Presbyterian Women who had a hand (literally) in this project. Many, many hours of baking, rolling, selling, going to market, scraping the old floor, cleaning chairs, retipping the chairs, etc. went into earning the money and getting the floor prepared for this beautiful room. Thank you also to an anonymous donor for the gift of $5000 towards the flooring! Let s all take good care of it now. The session has revised the policy for renting the hall. If you know of someone that is interested, let the church office know. The canopy rafters are up...we ll soon have our cover back before the snow falls! Thanks Joe & Brackett! There have been a few church mice preparing the floor, cleaning up after, cleaning the church, doing lots of odd jobs without being noticed. THANK YOU.you know who you are! It s good to have the choir back and the adult Sunday school class! We know there are kids out there. One Sunday there were nine here! Let s make an effort to get your kids/grandkids to Sunday School...it DOES make a DIFFERENCE! I love putting the GOOD NEWS in...if you have something to contribute...put it in the blue box in the narthex!

8 Veterans Day - A Verse Not just this day, but all days you're thought of in so many ways. Not just this day, but all days You've not been forgotten. Each time free words are spoken, each day we wake in peace; each time each child is taught what it means to be free; Someone somewhere remembers your courage and tears. Someone knows he can't know all the things you have seen. Not just this day, but all days when we can still say that that Star Spangled Banner yet waves; though no words can express what so deeply is felt we think of you on this day and all days THE MESSENGER RANGE LINE PRESBYTERIAN CLAY STREET HEBRON, IN To everyone at the home of:
