I pray and believe this teaching book has been a blessing to you. Now, I would like to ask you to not only read this prayer, but pray this prayer from your heart right now. Father God, I know today I need your help to live in this life. I believe in your Son, Jesus Christ, and I ask you to come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. I believe Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died on the cross for me and went to hell for three days on my behalf. Because He arose and is alive, I can now live. Jesus, take full possession of my life and have your way in my life. Amen Name Date For more information on other great teaching books and cassette tape series write: Robin Harmia International Ministries PO Box University Place, Wa (360) rharmia@yahoo.com INTRODUCTION Have you ever wanted a true friend? Have you wanted someone who would walk closer to you than your brother, sister, children, parents and friends in the world? Do you want someone who will guide you and teach you the way to go? Someone who you can tell your most secret of secrets to and they will never miss guide you in what you shall do? Do you want someone who will not gossip about you and tell everyone how bad you are and how you have messed up in life? Do you want someone who will be beside you every minute of every day and night? In this book I will show you there is a person who can be a friend to you closer than anyone else on earth. He will walk beside you twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. He will never gossip or drag your name through the mud. He will guide you and help you to help others in need. If you want to know more about this wonderful friend, then enjoy learning about Him in the following chapters of this book. It will greatly bless you and you will learn to fellowship with a true friend. 48 5
Chapter 1 PEOPLE NEED FRIENDS step of the way. You have a friend who will walk with you. Will you reach out and fellowship with Him? Will you offer Him a place in your heart today? The choice is yours. Everyone wants to have a good friend. You want your husband or wife to be your friend. You want other people to be your friend. However, do you know you need to have a friend who is closer than your brother, sister, mother, father or your best friend on earth. You can have a friend who walks inside your heart. I am not just talking about Jesus living inside of you, I am talking about a friend who is closer than any other person you have ever known. He will never leave or forsakes you. Your friend will help you to overcome every circumstance in your life. You need this friend to walk beside you daily. Do you know the biggest killer in the world is loneliness? Over 99.9% of people who die every year, die of loneliness. Most people who commit suicide, kill themselves because they have nobody to turn to or even talk with. The friend I am about to introduce you to is a friend you can turn to twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. You can talk to Him just like you could a person on the telephone. He is always there. You will never get a busy signal or be told to wait while He talks to someone else. You are very important to Him. He will always have time for anything you want to say. 6 47
However, if you do reading and praying together, you will stay balanced. God is a balanced God. He keeps everything in balance. He wants people to be blessed and helped. If you don t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I want you to ask Jesus Christ into your heart because He loves you. If you don t have a friend and are really lonesome, then invite the Holy Ghost into your heart. He knows you are hurting and wants to come into your life to help you. He can counsel you. He can show you things including ways of escape, when the devil has tried to trap you. God will fill you with His Holy Ghost. He will give you a prayer language, so you can pray to the Father twenty four hours a day. There will be no interruptions because you have a hot line to heaven. If you by chance have fallen short of the kingdom of God, missed the mark or you have backslidden, reach out and renew your life to Jesus. I really don t like to say people have fallen short from God. I would rather use the term backslidden because backslidden really means you took a choice and walked away from God. The trial which came against you was not of God, but you made a choice and walked away from God. You decided to yield to depression or the situation, instead of getting closer to God. You need to repent and come back to the arms of the Lord. God is waiting for you to just reach out and receive Him. The Holy Ghost will help you every He will talk to you if you are on the job or driving down the road. He will talk to you on the darkest of nights, the brightest of days, the happiest of moments for you or the worst of any situation you can imagine. You can talk to this friend any time or any place. The friend I am introducing you to lives in your heart. This friend is very important for you to have inside of you. Just like Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior, lives inside your heart, your friend also lives in your heart. He was sent here by Jesus for this dispensation in your life. He is the one who causes you to be empowered and walk in victory. Now I want to introduce you to your friend. His name is the Holy Spirit. He is a person who does the work of the Father God. He will never leave you. He lives inside of you and will minister God s anointing to you as you learn to walk with Him. 46 7
Chapter 2 LISTENING TO YOUR HEART As you learn to walk with the Holy Spirit, you must learn to listen to your heart. In other words, you must listen to your heart and do what your heart says. You must have the Holy Spirit as your friend, so you can listen to your heart. If you don t know the friend I am talking about or don t have Him living inside of you, you cannot walk under the guidance of your Father God and Jesus. The Holy Spirit is the person who will guide you the way God has for your life. Do you know how to make friends with the Holy Spirit? You make friends with Him just like you make friends on earth. If I had a person I wanted to be friends with in this town, I would spend time with them. I would get to know them. I would talk to them. The same principle is true with the Holy Spirit. In order to become a friend with Him, you must spend time getting to know Him. You have to talk to Him and get to know each other. You can partake of each other s personality and enjoy receiving the anointing from God to minister through you. As you get closer to the Holy Spirit, your life will interchange with His because you will become so close you will start to take on His identity. Now, you are starting to know each other. When we have a friend like this who lives and you must get up from your chair, walk over to me and ask if I will give you fifty cents. When I am under the anointing or your pastor, you need to take a stand and come forward to receive the anointing of the Holy Ghost on your life. God doesn t have to use a special person to minister the baptism of the Holy Ghost. God had to use a donkey in the Old Testament to get someone s attention. He can minister the anointing to you through anyone who is a yielded vessel. He will minister to you even if He has to use a donkey to life up his hoof and put it on your head in order for you to get you baptized in the Holy Spirit. It doesn t have to be me to minister the baptism of the Holy Ghost to you. It doesn t even have to be your pastor. It can be whosoever. What I am saying is the gifts of God are for the body of Christ. If you don t have what you need from God, you need to get it. If you are not full of the Holy Ghost and haven t been praying in tongues or reading the Word of God, you need to get blessed by doing it now. You need get energized again. You need to stir yourself up, so you can get in the place to hear from God. Most people get in financial difficulty or in problems, when they are not reading the Bible and praying daily. You will never make a bad decision, if you are in the Word or in prayer daily. Do you notice reading the Word of God and praying go together? If you pray too much and don t read the Bible, you will be flakey on one end. If you read the Bible too much and don t pray, you will get flakey on the other end. 8 45
working inside of you, there are benefits for you. It is not a benefit for God to have the Holy Ghost. God never said, I am going to give you the Holy Ghost, so I can benefit. He said He would send the Holy Ghost, so we would benefit. Psalms 103:2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. God wants you to benefit. He wants you to remember what He has done for you. The benefits are for you and not for Him. He doesn t need the benefits. He is God. The world needs the benefits. He made the benefits available to people who want them. Luke 11:13 If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? The Holy Ghost is waiting for you to ask Him into your heart. If I had only fifty cents on me and you asked me for it, I would give it to you. However, before I would give you the fifty cents, you would have to look me straight in the face and say, Rob, do you have fifty cents? You couldn t just sit on your chair and think, I will just think about this situation and maybe Rob will come over here and hand me fifty cents. No, you must ask. When you ask, it means the person has to reply and do something. In other words it means walks with us everywhere we go, we start to learn His habits. We start walking like He walks. We start talking like He talks. It is very important we have this friend because He will always be there when everybody else leaves you. Have you ever felt lonely in a group of people? Have you ever been alone even thought you were married? You may have lots of friends, but sometimes when you are in the mist of all those people, you still feel alone. Remember, there is someone who is closer to you than a friend. He is you best friend, the Holy Spirit. When you allow this friend to walk with you and have your life, you will have a friend who will help you in every situation. Here is a great example of what I am talking about. Suppose you had a twelve room house, when you were born again and asked Jesus Christ into your heart. However, at that time you only let Jesus come into six out of the twelve rooms. You said,, Lord, you cannot go into the other six rooms. The other six rooms are mine and you are to stay out. I don t want you in those rooms. How do you think the Lord would feel? Suppose when you become a friend to somebody else or get married, they want to know everything about you. They want to know all the things that are in twelve rooms in your home. They don t want you to hide six rooms of your life in the corner, and say, You can t enter into the special six rooms because you might hurt me. I will let you know what is in those other six rooms someday, but now I am afraid it will hurt too much 44 9
to let you in. No, this is not the way a friendship or marriage should work. When a husband or a wife engage in a relationships, they want to know what is in the whole house, not just half of the house. They want to know the temperament of the other person. They want to know the moods and how to handle the situations in order to make the relationship last. Each person measures up the other person to check them out. As the relationship grows, they will each know how to handle the other person if that person has a rough day. They will be able to lend a supporting and helping hand to lift the other person out of the miry mud and put their feet back on solid ground. Chapter 13 HE CARES FOR YOU I am talking about a friend who cares about people. He cares about how you feel. He cares if you are sick, diseased, lame, blind or broken hearted. The Holy Ghost is inside of you working on things you have wrong with your physical body. He is not the One who heals. God is the healer, but the Holy Spirit can help you to receive your healing by walking in fellowship with Him. Not too long ago, a lady came to one of my services. I had taught her how to receive the Holy Ghost, but she said she was not ready yet. She had a physical problem when I met her, but the last two years she had a lot of pain from the problem. She believed for her healing, but the healing had not manifested. Sometimes it takes time for God to do things. Most people want things to happen instantly. When you get the Holy Ghost, it does comes instantly. This was what the lady had to learn. She had to start walking and fellowshipping with her friend. Acts 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. When you have the Holy Ghost living and 10 43
Do you know why we as believers don t get the things accomplished we want to get accomplished? It is because we never gather together and pray in the Holy Ghost in unity. We need to unite in spirit together in the spirit in prayer. Their isn t such a thing as an intercessory prayer time. However, you can pray in prayer groups, praying in the spirit which is intercession. The Bible calls this type of prayer, praying in a group. Today, we used the word intercession or intercessory prayer time. Some people call this type of praying, petition prayers or group prayers. You don t have to go to a certain prayer room to pray together. People need to gather together about thirty minutes before the church service starts and pray in the Holy Ghost. When they do this, they will see miracles happening in the service. By praying before the service, they are inviting the Holy Spirit to enter into their service and flow through the people. Healing will happen. The sick will be healed, the lame will walk and the blind will see, all because of prayer. You just have to bring the sick and lame into the service and God will do His part. The preacher just has to be willing to let the Holy Ghost flow through him and the Holy Ghost will do the rest. Chapter 3 TO HAVE A FRIEND, YOU MUST BE A FRIEND The friend you have inside of you, when you became born again, also needs to know you. He wants to know your moods and for you to know His moods. He has one mood which will always lift up Jesus and the Father. Jesus is a friend. He said if I call you a friend, you are no longer a servant. John 15:14 and Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth; but I have called you friend; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Jesus knew a servant would be a person who just went about doing the business of God, but a friend would take intense care of the business of God. There is a difference between just being a servant and being a friend. One person does it because he is told to do it and the other person does it because he found a friend who is true and does it with joy. What He was saying was everything I have 42 11
heard from Father, I have let you have the ability to illuminate in your life, if you want to become a friend with Me. If you will follow what I tell you to do, here is My handbook for you to follow. It is called the Word of God, the Bible. I love you so much, I was sent into this world to give you everlasting life. I want to be your friend and live in your heart. This is what Jesus Christ is telling us when He came to live inside of us. John 3: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. A person who has never had Jesus Christ in their heart, is already condemned. The only thing that person who doesn t have Jesus Christ can do is sin all they want. The sin is not what is going to take them to hell. They will go to hell because they did not take Jesus Christ into their heart as their Lord and Savior. When a person does not have Jesus in their Chapter 12 BE FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST Acts 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. It is good to be full of the Holy Ghost. The Scripture was saying, Look over everyone in the congregation and see if you can find seven good men who are honest and pray every day. They need to be men who are in the Word of God and stay in the presence of God. They also need to be full of the Holy Ghost. Why would you want to put someone over a department who wasn t filled with the Holy Ghost? If they are not filled with the Holy Ghost, they are going to make carnal decisions. The disciples were told to pick evangelists who were diligent in prayer and the Word of God. The men who were to be chosen should also stay full of the Holy Ghost. They were to be full of the friend of God, who was the Holy Ghost who lived and abided inside of them. They needed to have the Holy Ghost direct their path to do what God has for their life
21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for every mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. heart, they can t have any relationship with the Father God. They can t lift their hands up to praise and worship God. They are afraid to lift their hands up in the presence of God. They are afraid to stay in the presence of God because they don t understand it. When you worship God out of your heart, you worship Him out of your spirit and out of the Spirit of Truth abiding in you. The true spirit of worship to God comes out of your heart because Jesus Christ is a friend to you in your life. Jesus told his disciples He would have to leave them. He said, I am going to have to leave because it is better for Me to leave, so I can send you the comforter. John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you
Chapter 4 RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT The Holy Spirit is a friend who walks inside your heart after you accept Jesus Christ into your heart. He is the comforter, helper and friend Jesus sent to His followers after He left the earth to sit at the right hand of God. Before you can have the Holy Spirit come into your heart, you must first accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior in your heart. Not everyone receives the Holy Spirit like I did. It was miraculous when I was filled with Holy Ghost. When some people get filled with the Holy Ghost, they get caught in the spirit or some supernatural things happen. A good example is Kenneth Hagin. When he was a young man, he went out of his body and started descending into hell. The Spirit of God spoke something in another language and he started going back upwards towards heaven. That was an experience, which was an out of the body experience. Not everybody has those experiences. I had an experience when I received the Holy Ghost, but not everyone has the same experiences. Each person may have a different experience. It does not make one way right and the other way wrong. The Holy Ghost ministers to each person as He sees fit. He knows our hearts and wants to be invited into our lives. Spirit, energizes us and will last forever. As long as we keep the alternator going to generate power to our battery, it stays charged up. If the alternator quits going, our battery starts dying. Do you know when your battery starts dying? It is when you don t stay full of the Holy Spirit. People start to bother and irritate you. Everyone starts to irritate you including your husband or your wife. This all happens because you have not been spending time in the Word and you haven t been in the presence of God. It is very important we stay filled with the Holy Ghost, so as the body of Christ, we will stay out of strife with one another. When there is strife in the church, it is usually because the body of Christ has not been praying. We no longer have love for one another. Romans 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. If you are praying in the Holy Ghost, you will be building up yourself in your most Holy Faith and keeping yourself in the love of God. You can t build yourself up in your most Holy Faith, if you are not baptized in the Holy Ghost. Jude 20 and But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost
Holy Ghost. If you pray in your English langrage, you will come to a place where you will want to pray to God the Father and you won t have words to pray. You need to be baptized in the Holy Ghost, so you can pray in another language. The Holy Ghost will give you to words and utterances to say. He gives you the perfect way to pray to the Father and to get the results needed in your life. You will never be able to pray the complete victory in English, because your English language has a limited words span. However, the language God places in your heart, with the Holy Ghost, is unlimited. The Holy Spirit releases all the power and authority to your spirit to pray the perfect prayer. The devil cannot understand what you are saying when you pray in tongues. I hear people say all the time, Well, the devil can understand my prayers. He knows what I am asking the Lord to do for me. No, the devil cannot understand your prayers, if you are praying in tongues. He can never understand you, when you are praying in your heavenly language. Even if the devil did understand you, he couldn t stop your prayers from being answered anyhow. There is too much power behind your prayers because they are energized by God. We need to be energized by God. We need to be so super energized, we are better than any battery. We are to be better than any light there is in the world. The world s energy doesn t last very long, but the Spirit of God, which is the Holy God has to get people s attention because He is trying to get them saved. I had the call of God on my life when I was seven years old. However, I didn t feel the Holy Ghost until April 18, At the time I was filled I couldn t even read. I would read a passage in the Bible like this. I would say, If I blank, blank, blank and have blank, blank, your blank, blank, blank, blank and have you blank, blank, blank, and blank, blank to blank, blank, blank, blank to blank, blank one blank, blank and blank. Reading didn t make any sense to me. Would that make any sense to you, if I read a Scripture to you that way? I learned everything by sight in school. They kept on passing me from grade to grade in school, so I could keep up with my age group. I think they knew I could not read, but it was not important enough to keep me back from passing into the next grade at school until I learned to read. I never learned to read until I was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1983, a year before I even knew how to read the Bible. God knew how to get my attention. My wife and I were living in our home in Centralia, Washington on April 18, The event happened about 8:30 in the evening. All of a sudden, the front door came flying open in our house and our walls were turned pink. Our walls were yellow in the house, so when they turned pink, it was really shocking to us. My wife and another couple, who were visiting us at the time, said, It is God coming into the 38 15
house I said, God doesn t have to open doors to walk into our house. He can come in any house, any place, and any way He wants to. A few minutes later our children said, Something is burning. My wife and the other couple went running throughout the house looking to see what is burning. I went with them at first. I couldn t find anything burning, so I went back into the kitchen to sit down in a chair. All of a sudden while I was sitting at the table, the whole room turned a pinkish red color. I saw a ball of fire in mid air, which had a tongue inside of it. Then suddenly it came on me and it started coming out of me. Instantly I started singing in the Spirit. I started speaking in the Spirit. I started interpreting in the Spirit. I was singing, speaking and interpreting one thing right after another thing. I didn t know what had just happened. However, I did know one thing. My language came out clear. I used to slur every other word when I spoke, but when the ball of fire hit me, my words became clear. It was like my tongue had been loosed and freed. When my wife came into the room, I was at a lost for words to explain what had happened to me. She had been standing at the door way, but could not enter the room. She tried to enter into the room, but the Presence wouldn t let her in. She saw what was happening, but could not come into the kitchen. Finally when she entered the room, she said, Your eyes looked like they were saucers. Whatever you saw, were you scared of it? At Peter had been filled with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. However, he needed to be refilled or recharged daily. He wanted everyone to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, but which means he is made whole. In the above Scripture, Peter was talking about the man at the Gate Beautiful. He said if you inquire of what good deeds he was doing, it was not by man but by the Holy Ghost and Jesus. It was because he was full of the Holy Ghost. Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. We need to be able to be stay full of the Holy Ghost daily. When we speak boldly to somebody, we need to speak according to what the Spirit of God has to say. When we are talking to the Holy Spirit, we need to remember we are speaking with the friend of God who lives and abides within our hearts. We don t need to line ourselves up with the world; but up with the Holy Ghost and the Word of God. Do you know you can pray all day long. You say, How can I pray all day long? You cannot pray all day long, if you are not baptized in the 16 37
with the Holy Ghost. They wanted fresh anointing every day. They wanted fresh manna every day. You say, How do you know the disciples wanted fresh anointing each day? As you read farther in the Bible, you will see Peter preached by the Holy Ghost and three thousand people were saved. Peter stayed with the Holy Ghost. Peter was zealous for God. He may have made a lot of mistakes and failed at times before he was filled with the Holy Ghost. However, after the Holy Ghost started working through him, he could have never failed. Before Peter received the Holy Ghost, in the eyes of God, he couldn t be a success. He was a failure. He might have done all he could do in the flesh, but nothing was good enough for God. After the Holy Ghost started walking with him, he wasn t failing God never causes failure. Nobody in the kingdom of God ever fails. When you think you failed, you are only really finding out the way that doesn t work. You are just doing it your way, instead of the kingdom of God s way. Many people get baptized in the Holy Ghost. They receive a real zeal for God. I don t believe we should ever let our fire burn down, but it happens in many Christian s lives. first I couldn t answer her. I didn t realize at the time, but when you get into the physical presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, it not only brings you fear, but it also brings you to your knees. There is a reference for the almighty God. I had been searching for God for years. I wanted a deeper relationship with Him, but I just didn t know how to receive it. When I was filled with the Holy Ghost, I was instantly delivered of alcoholism. I was still smoking and was not delivered of cigarettes until several years later. Some things God delivers us from instantly. Other things He wants us to play a part in getting us delivered from them. Before I was delivered of being an alcoholic, I hated to drink. I drank alcohol because my wife and friends did it. I was lonely like every other person who goes to the bars. I believed I would not be alone as long as I drank. I knew I could be around people and I wouldn t be alone, but I was still alone in my heart. However, after I was filled with the Holy Spirit, I was never alone. Something had happened inside of me on this special day. My life was changed forever instantly. Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel
Chapter 5 THE COMFORTER Chapter 11 TONGUES Jesus told his disciples He would send them a comforter after He went to be with Father God. At the time, they did not understand what He meant. Jesus was getting to go to the cross when He was explaining things to them. Many of the disciples were wondering and troubled in their heart as to what was going to happen after He left the earth. John 14:1 and 2 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you. Jesus was preparing His disciples for His departure. He was telling them who was going to come to them. He said He would sent a Comforter. He said He is the One who will come and counsel you. He will be your helper, intercessor, advocate and strengthener. John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever. Acts 2:1 4 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. The Bible says on the day of Pentecost, the people in the Upper Room spoke with an unknown language as the Holy Ghost gave them the utterance. In other words, they were not speaking in their own language, but with a language they did not know how to speak. The language the Holy Ghost gave them was clear, understandable to others and the disciples spoke with an articulate speech. This was the initial act of the baptism of the Holy Ghost. However, the disciples did not stop right there. They kept on fellowshipping and work 18 35
By the time they got back into Word and praying in tongues, it was too late. The door was closed. It is important for believers to stay full of the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. The word comforter means Holy Spirit. It can also mean counselor, if you need help. He can be your helper. I used to build houses for people. When I built houses, I would sometimes come to a complicated problem I couldn t figure it out in my brain. I would start praying in the Holy Ghost. All of a sudden, the answer would come to me. I would know how to solve the problem. The Holy Ghost spoke to me and gave me the solution to the situation. I have a friend who lives and abides within me. He guides and directs me in all the things and affairs of my life. He directs me in the affairs of the kingdom of God. If you don t have the Holy Spirit, you need to know Him. If you don t have the friend, you need to have Him as your friend. If you don t have Jesus Christ in your heart, you need Him first. The Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter, will abide with you forever. John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him no, neither knoweth him; but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you. This Scriptures means you have to have Jesus in your heart. He dwells with you and shall be with you
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. the marriage with the bridegroom. The oil in the parable Jesus told was the Holy Ghost. The ten virgins are His believers who pray every day. However, if you are not filled with the Holy Ghost, you will run out of oil and soon dry up. You cannot pray twenty four hours, seven days a week for very long without the Holy Ghost and praying in tongues. The wise virgins keep their fire of the Holy Ghost alive daily by praying in tongues and keep the fire of revival burning brightly in their hearts. They read the Word of God and fellowship with the Holy Spirit daily. At the return of Jesus Christ, the five virgins who forgot to pray in the Spirit of God, were left outside. They missed the coming of the Lord. They had set aside the gift of the Holy Spirit and let it die or grow dim. The five foolish were told the bridegroom was coming, but they were not prepared to meet him with their lamp glowing and shinning brightly for His return. They had forgotten their Bible, when they started their trip. Their oil was almost gone. They had become empty and lost their fire for the Lord. They forgot to get extra oil in case they had to wait a long time. They were not prepared for His arrival. They forgot the kindling for the fire to burn brightly inside of them. They forgot to keep themselves burning and stirred up for revival. The five foolish virgins had to go get refilled again. They had to get back into the Word of God again. They had to start praying again. They had to get rekindled and on fire for the Lord. They had to stir themselves up for revival
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day not the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Do you have yourself ready to meet the Lord, who is the bridegroom? Is you lamp full of the oil from the Holy Ghost? Are you overflowing with the Spirit of God? These questions are not just for the people who do not know Jesus as their Savior or have the Holy Ghost in their heart. The questions are for believers to think about and make sure they are filled and ready at all times. If you have set the Holy Ghost off to the side, then you are not ready. If you have put Him on a shelf or in a bottle to wait for another time to fellowship with Him, you are not ready to go into Chapter 6 WALK WITH THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH God has a plan and a purpose for every individual s life. He can reveal it to you through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. Not everybody is called to be in the ministry, but every one is called to be in the kingdom of God. Everybody is called to have Jesus Christ in their heart. Hell wasn t made for man. Heaven was made for man. Hell was made to shun. It was made for the devil. There are many tricks of the devil. Many Christians make all kinds of excuses to keep from going to church. They stop themselves from the blessings of God because they don t want to hear the Spirit of Truth. They don t want to hear the Word of Truth. They don t want to walk in the light of the Word. John 3:19 and And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest this deeds should be reproved
Men want to walk in the darkness of sins because they don t want their sins to be known. They are afraid to come to the light of the truth. I want my sins made known. I want to change when I sin. I want the friend who walks inside of me to reveal things I do wrong, so I can change and be more effective for God s service. When I become more effective for God, more people get saved and come into the kingdom of God. If you become more effective for God, the people you come in contact with will become more effective also. The way you become more effective is to be operating under the guidance of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost who lives and abides beside you will give you words or reveal things from the Father and Jesus. He is your Comforter. However, before the Comforter could come to earth to help us, Jesus had to leave. the Spirit of Truth to come to them. It is the same promise for us today. When we receive the Holy Spirit into our lives, we will have someone who will guide, teach and show us the way to go. We will be led into doing God s will for this earth. Our lives will change because of the Holy Spirit living and working through us. When we get baptized in the Holy Ghost, there is going to be evidence of it. Do you remember the story in the Bible about the ten virgins. Five of them took oil for their lanterns, but the other five did not take any extra oil. All ten of them had lanterns, but only five of them took their oil. Matthew 25: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them. 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to the meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps
Chapter 10 THERE IS EVIDENCE Chapter 7 HE HAD TO GO John 16:12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Why did Jesus tell His disciples they could not bear to hear the rest of what He wanted to tell them? It was because they were not baptized in the Holy Ghost themselves. They didn t even have Jesus Christ as their Lord yet. They were just as fleshly as we were when we accepted Jesus Christ into our heart. They were not saved yet. The disciples had walked with Jesus for three and a half years, but they were not saved. They were not saved until after Jesus rose again. They had not been born again. They were not even filled with the Holy Ghost until the day of Pentecost. However, Jesus gave them and us a promise to send the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. Jesus told His disciples to believe and wait for John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. Jesus was telling His disciples about what He had to do in order for them to receive the Comforter. He was saying if He didn t die at Calvary for us and have the thirty nine slashes on His back, the Comforter could not come to help us. He was also saying if the nails had not been pounded into His hands, the crown of thorns smashed down on His head or if He wasn t beaten and His whiskers pulled out of His face, the Comforter could still not come to help and guide us. He was saying if He didn t go through all that misery and pain for us, then He could not send the Holy Ghost. To sum up the whole verse above, Jesus is saying, I have to go through the crucifixion for the whole world. I have to lay my life down, so I can send the Comforter. I am going to send a friend to you who will be closer to you than your mother, father, sister or brother. I will send a friend who will never leave you nor forsake you
He will always be by your side. When I was filled with the Holy Ghost, I needed a friend. My family, including my motherin-law and father-in-law and every relative I knew was crazy. They knew I had something special, but everyone thought it was just religion. I didn t have religion, I had real Christianity. I had Jesus and now I had the Holy Ghost. I had a friend who was closer than a friend. You know the devil fears and trembles because he knows his end. He believes in God. People can fear and believe in God, but not have God in their heart as their Lord and Savior. They haven t really received Jesus Christ as their Savior or had the baptism of the Holy Ghost
Chapter 9 HE BECAME OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS Chapter 8 SINS DON T CONDEMN YOU John 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more. We became righteous, when Jesus Christ came into our hearts. We no longer operate by our righteousness, which is filthy rags, but we operate by the righteousness which was purchased by the blood of Jesus. We have His righteousness on us now as believers. John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. Jesus was saying the devil is already judged. It doesn t matter what crazy things the devil pulls on earth, he is already judged and condemned. He can t repent and be saved because God has already judged him. I have heard preachers tell me, You know, I believe God is a merciful God. I believe God is going to give to Satan a second chance. I said, The Word of God says the devil is condemned and judged. He is not going to get a second chance. He already is judged. It is final. When I received the infilling of the Holy Ghost into my heart, my wife and I thought God was going to destroy the Northwest. Two weeks before the Holy Ghost came into my heart and into our home, Mount Saint Helens irrupted into an active volcano. We through God was going to wipe out every person and every living thing in the Northwest. The night I received the Holy Ghost, we packed our car with everything we could carry. We left the next day to get out of the state of Washington before God s power of destruction happened to the entire state. As we drove out of the state of Washington, all I knew was God wanted me to find something not made by man, but made by heaven. There isn t such a thing in this world, other than being a born again spirit filled Christian. God wanted me to be someone who walked in the Word of God. He was guiding me to a place where I could receive training in His Word and truth. As we drove across the United States, I come across a man named Kenneth Hagin. I picked up some of his books and said, This is it. This is what God is talking about. Kenneth Hagin is talking about the real Word of God. He is talking about the Word and it is alive today. This is the 28 25
truth and it is not made by man. This is something made by the Spirit of God. I was learning God was talking about individuals collective or across the whole world who make up the body of Christ having the Comforter. I tried going to different churches, but I was never satisfied because they were not preaching the Word of God by the Holy Ghost. Most of the churches didn t believe what they were preaching. They were only mouthing the Word of God, then saying things they thought were right. I felt impregnated with the Holy Spirit. I was so full of Him, things He would do and say would just fall out of me as I was talking to someone. It was evident He was real to me and to other people who were around me. If He is real to you, it will affect other people s lives. The Holy Ghost is real and is there to help you. The Holy Ghost is there to be a friend to comfort, guide and teach you. He came to the world to reprove it of sin and righteousness. because of one sin. You are condemned because you do not have Jesus Christ in your heart. John 16:8-9 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me. The word sin in the above Scripture is singular. It is sin, not sins. It didn t say sins, which is plural. You are not condemned 26 27
