Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. John 4:14 DeColores, Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ! This team has been called to prepare for Cursillo #158 during the season of Advent, and it was a powerful experience to prepare for the coming of Our Lord while preparing to serve Him during this weekend. In addition, the theme of healing has been prominent among the team members both in their ministries and in their own lives. Several members have experienced illness, injury and surgery, and have been strengthened by the healing of the Father. This team is strong in faith, gifted and called to this service, and ready for the weekend. When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, My grace all sufficient shall be thy supply; The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design Thy dross to consume, and thy gold to refine. (Robert Keene) The saint for the weekend is St. John, the Apostle, the disciple whom Jesus loved and gave the honor of caring for his mother, the disciple who stayed near Jesus through his crucifixion and death. As the team prepares for our last meeting before the weekend, we are joyfully in prayer for the participants The Lord is calling to Cursillo #158. We are thankful that the men and women s dorms at Camp St. Christopher have been refurbished and are beautiful and ready. We can t wait to see what The Lord has in store for the weekend. Thank you for your prayers and sacrificial gifts of time, talent and treasure in support of #158. I pray that you and all called to support and experience Cursillo #158 will be filled with the water He gives us; that we will never thirst; that, indeed through the water He gives, we will live the abundant life He intends for His children. In informal Spanish speech it is often said that someone who has influence has palanca. As for us Christians, the only real influence we can expect to have in the religious life of our friends, the participants on a Weekend, is through prayer. Prayer is the ultimate palanca. Perhaps the most effective palanca we can give to a participant is a short, loving note which says, for instance, that we are praying or fasting for that person as he lives through the Weekend. Please save any gifts that you might wish to give to your participant friends for their return. Only those small items that fit into a business size envelope are desired by the Palanca Chas. Kindly do not send food or drinks to camp as personal palanca.

Continue on Highway 162 for another 1.8 miles. Turn left onto Chapel Road and go 1.2 miles. St. Paul's is on the left. The Ministry Center is on the right. From the South: Take 17 North. Turn RIGHT onto SC-174 (towards Edisto) and continue for 2.6 miles. Stay STRAIGHT to go onto SC-162 (to Hollywood) and continue for 4.6 miles. Turn RIGHT onto CHAPEL RD. Our cemetery and Old St. Paul's are on the left. The Ministry Center and new Church are on the right.

5 FROM THE DIOCESAN LAY COORDINATOR: Bishop Appoints Next Diocesan Lay Coordinator Bishop Lawrence has appointed Jay Freeman to a one-year term as Observing Lay Coordinator to be followed by an expected three-year term beginning January, As the incumbent, I am very pleased to be working with Jay this year and look forward to his strong leadership in the years ahead. I especially wish to thank the nominating committee (John Hood, Eunice Logan, and Sam Dunham) for their work in providing the Bishop with a splendid slate of nominees. Schedule for 2011 Please mark your future calendars for these events next year: Cursillo Community Retreat: Jan 14-15; Weekend #162: Jan 27-30; Weekend #163: Apr 28-May 1; Weekend #164: July 21-24; and Weekend #165: Oct Weekend Lay Rectors Elected At the last Diocesan Ultreya two ladies were elected to serve as Weekend Lay Rectors. Sue Freeman will lead Weekend #161 and Callie Hub will lead #162. Leadership Training Opportunities Whether you wish to improve your leadership skills to serve more effectively at the parish, Ultreya, diocesan, or national level; or simply want to rekindle that wonderful Weekend spirit, there is a weekend just for you! Episcopal Cursillo Leaders Workshops (ECLW) are held from time-to-time throughout the Country. Anyone who might wish to serve as a Weekend Lay Rector is strongly urged to attend an ECLW. Among those held this year within reasonable driving range are these: March in Oviedo, FL (contact Maggie Thompson writemaggie@juno.com) and during the National Episcopal Cursillo meeting in Myrtle Beach, October Financial Matters As we fully embrace a new method of paying for candidates and team on our Weekends, our treasury can use your generous assistance. We are stepping out in faith on this venture and we count heavily on the support of those who have found their Cursillo experience to be a significant part of their renewed Christian walk.
