1 Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church Asheville, North Carolina November 25, 2018 Christ the King "Religion is meant to transform anxiety into peace, arrogance into humility, envy into compassion, to awaken the pure souls in humans and their love for the Source, which is God." ~ Radhanath Swami Bell Peal Prelude Fanfare on Coronation Janet Linker * Call to Worship (adapted from Psalm 93) God is king. The Lord is robed in majesty. God has established the world and it shall never be moved. God is queen. The Lord is wondrous and everlasting. God is more majestic than the thunders of mighty waters. 3 * Affirmation of Faith (adapted from A Brief Statement of Faith) We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch for God s new heaven and new earth, praying, Come, Lord Jesus! Offering (Please place prayer cards in the offering plate for the Prayers of the People) Offertory Cantilène on Coronation Janet Linker * Doxology * Prayer of Dedication Prayers of the People The Lord s Prayer Miraculous God, Accept these gifts offered to you. May all that we give be used for your holy purpose in bringing justice, mercy and joy to your world. Amen. Each section of the prayer will conclude: God, in your grace Please respond: Hear our prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
