We ve conquered outer space but not inner space, have more degrees but less sense, talked too much and listened too little, loved seldom and hated too often.

The irony of our time is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, bigger cities and less friends, wider roads but narrower viewpoints. We have larger houses and smaller families, more money but less time, more knowledge but less judgement, more experts yet more problems. We ve learned how to make a living but not a life, added years to life not life to years, been to the moon and back but not crossed the street to meet a neighbour. We ve conquered outer space but not inner space, have more degrees but less sense, talked too much and listened too little, loved seldom and hated too often. We ve cleaned the air but polluted the soul, written more but learnt less, planned more but accomplished less, learned to rush but not to wait. We laugh little, drive fast, stay up late, get tired, read little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. These are the days of fast foods and poor digestion, big men with small characters, steep profits and shallow relationships, disposable nappies and throwaway morality. That can be the sum total of a man s life. The colour and meaning of LIFE can be lost because we lose our perspective about what really matters. Doing LIFE well doesn t just happen. REALMEN 08 conference LIFE will help men adjust their worlds so as to enjoy the journey and do LIFE well. Look forward to seeing you there. It will be LIFE transforming. GREG FRENCH is an Assistant Senior Minister at Christian City Church Oxford Falls and oversees the Pastoral Connect and REALMEN Ministries. Greg s vision and heart for REALMEN Ministry is to identify with men where they are at in their lives, to equip them with practical strategies and to position them for success. Yet as busy, hard working men, we don t take the time to do it. What does it mean to live out this adventure? How do I do it? Isn t working hard and accumulating possessions the measure of success? The greatest thing we can do each day is to live the life created for us. This is how we fulfill our purpose on this planet, to glorify God as a positive role model carving a path for others to follow. Sir Winston Churchill said There are two great days in every person s life, the day they are born and the day they realise why. The why of a man s life is so much more important than the hows. A life well lived harnesses life and focuses man towards his purpose and passion. Some men leave a mark on the world in their time, others leave a mark for all time anonymous. Be a man of purpose, someone who fulfills their God given potential making a difference for all time.

Danny provides a source of inspiration and leadership to other churches as a member of the National Executive of the Assemblies of God in Australia and through his involvement in the multi-denominational, Australian Christian Churches. Renowned for his passion for people and his desire to see leaders grow in God, Danny s pastoral oversight extends from individuals in the church, to pastors on the other side of the world.

STEVE JANES Ps Steve Janes together with his wife Jill are the Senior Ministers of CCC Monash, a vibrant and growing church in Canberra s southern suburbs.

Getting married at 20 and 16 respectively, fi ve months pregnant with their fi rst baby was not the dream start they had imagined.

Their message is one of redemption no matter how rocky and diffi cult the start, with God it can be turned around!

He was the founder and Director of Youth Alive, attracting crowds of over 15 000 people at each event.

5 STEVE JANES Ps Steve Janes together with his wife Jill are the Senior Ministers of CCC Monash, a vibrant and growing church in Canberra s southern suburbs. In their early days, Steve and Jill were top candidates to win the least likely to succeed in marriage award. PAT MESITI Pat Mesiti travels globally addressing infl uential leaders in businesses, corporate meetings and churches, empowering them to prosper and infl uence their community. He was the founder and Director of Youth Alive, attracting crowds of over people at each event. Pat has experience the highs and lows of life and his story will move and motivate you to do life well. JASON STEVENS Jason is not your average sports star. Though he played the game of rugby league at the highest level for 14 seasons, representing both NSW and Australia on numerous occasions, it s his work off the fi eld that has contributed to him being described by Australia s number one newspaper as the changing face of rugby league. Jason has excelled academically; completing a Bachelor of Commerce degree at The University of New South Wales, and has thrown himself into many worthwhile charitable projects.

GETTING THERE Situated in Sydney on the beautiful Northern Beaches, Christian City Church is only 30 minutes drive from Sydney International Airport terminal and 20 minutes drive from the heart of the CBD. Free parking is available on site ACCOMMODATION Hotel accommodation is available within reasonable distance from the conference venue. The Northern Beaches peninsula and the city are minutes drive. CONFERENCE CHECK-IN Registrations will be held on Friday from 6pm and on Saturday from 8am in the Theatre, which is located in the Theatre Building next to the Main Auditorium.
