We have come to praise the almighty God, who answers the forces of hatred and pain with the power of healing. 3 P A C T L P Ava Retzer Holy, and crea ng God, you are above all, beneath all, around all, and within all: the whole of crea on is filled with your glory. And yet, you are always forever beyond our grasp, you are beyond our comprehension and you are beyond our understanding. You are s llness and peace when we are fran c; your word is a truth when circumstances are twisted by untruth; your movement is freedom when we are paralyzed by fear; and your presence is love when we feel lost and alone. And so, we give you our singing, our thinking, our prayers, and our work in praise of you, Creator, Christ and Spirit, one God, to be forever loved, fully adored, and eternally sought. Having recalled who you are, O God, we remember and confess who we have been: Loving and forgiving God, we confess the grief we cling to, the shallowness of our love and the shortsightedness of our vision. We have been silent when we should have spoken and we confess that we have said things we should not have; we have been deaf to good news and blind to the needs of the people around us. Forgive who we have been, amend who are and direct who we shall be. These things we pray in Jesus name. Amen. A P Do not fear: guilt has departed, and our sins are blo ed out. 5 Many thanks to Deanna MacGregor for her musical contribu on on the flute today. Today we extend a special welcome to The Rev. Daniel Cho, Moderator, 144th General Assembly. Daniel Cho grew up in Toronto a er his family emigrated from South Korea in Being a second-genera on Korean-Canadian provided him a unique lens through which to experience the faith-culture-genera on connec on. A er his undergraduate and theological studies in the United States, Daniel returned to complete seminary at Knox College and con nued pastoring among the youth. For the next ten years he worked with teens and young adults in congrega ons, retreats and conferences. He returned to these roots as a main preacher at Canada Youth 2018 at Brock University. For thirty years now he has advocated for the rich ethnic diversity of the church and the fostering of closer connec ons among us. Currently Daniel is Senior Minister of St. Mark s Presbyterian Church in Don Mills, ON. Daniel enjoys music, running and mar al arts training. His wife, Esther, works in healthcare as a services coordinator and they have three adult children twin daughters and a son. Daniel is an unabashed Star Trek fan and a lover of sweets. Following Worship Refreshments will be served in the Family Room. Moving Into A New Now - Faith For The Later Years by Mildred Tengbom. Stained Glass Window Update - The mandatory repairs con nue on the stained glass windows in the Sanctuary. Two of the three panes in the window in the balcony at the rear of the Sanctuary have been removed and it is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks before the original glass is returned.
