The Lord Jesus Christ invites all baptized Christians to the fellowship of his Table. Take a glass from the tray in the center aisle. Gather around the altar and kneel or stand as you wish. If you are unable to go up the steps to the chancel, remain on the floor level and the servers will come to you. To indicate your preference for grape juice, simply place your hand over your glass as the chalice approaches. Silence is Golden. People prepare for worship in different ways some spend a few minutes in prayer, others in quiet contemplation or listening to the music prelude. As you enter the sanctuary prior to the worship service, please be mindful of your noise level. Reach out and share an invitation with someone who could use a place to worship and feel welcomed. Christian Education: Classes are available for all ages every Sunday at 9:00 a. m. Adults: Pastor Amanda is teaching Augsburg s New Adult Lesson Series: Animate. Children: The children s God s Work, Our Hands project for November and December is the ELCA God s Gifts Global Missions project. We are collecting money to buy ten chicks. All adults may join us by picking up a barn bank for your personal giving, or to add to the children s collection. Please place items for LWR Health Kits in the green box in the Narthex. A printed list of items needed is provided at the Information Counter. Newsletter Deadline for the December issue is today. Please your information / articles to the church office or leave it in Diane s mailbox. 2 There will be Quilting again on Thursday, Nov. 20, 9:00 a.m. to noon. Gifts for the Elderly. Beginning Nov. 23 the ROC tree will be in the narthex; we are again collecting small gifts to be distributed to the elderly in Oklahoma City who are often forgotten at Christmas time. Check the suggested gift list on the information counter. Beginning Nov. 23 there will be an Alternative Giving table in the narthex with Good Gifts catalogs from the ELCA and catalogs from Heifer Project International, along with gift cards to give to recipients. Consider giving a chick, or a duck, or a pig as a gift this year! Refrigerator Replacement The commercial refrigerator in the kitchen ceased to work after the Fall Festival. Repairs had an estimated cost of $2000 due to its age. The Church Council authorized the replacement at an estimated cost of $3000. A member has volunteered to match contributions towards the replacement costs. If you wish to make a contribution towards the replacement you are invited to do so. To make a contribution make your check out to OLLC and put refrigerator in the memo section. You can put your check in the offering plate or drop it by the church office. It is hoped to purchase the new refrigerator soon. We will have a "Welcome Night" for guests and seekers on November 17th at 7:00 p. m. If you have been our guest in the past and would like to become more involved, or you are just curious about the ministry of Our Lord's, please join us to learn about the ministry God is lifting up through us, what it means to be a member, and have an evening of fellowship! Invite others, and make sure to let people know! A personal phone call or text message can truly help somebody feel welcome! RSVP to Pastor Amanda is appreciated for food count. Thanksgiving Eve: November 26 Soup Supper 5:15 p.m. 6:15 p.m. (Soup will be provided) Thanksgiving worship Service 6:30 p.m. Pie and Coffee Fellowship at 7:15 p.m. (Bring your favorite pie to share.) It's time to sign up for the Annual Christmas Buffet! Sign up to bring a dish to share or contribute to the cost of ham and turkeys. Punch and fellowship begin at 5:30 p. m., dinner is at about 6:00 p. m., and a short program will follow dinner. Join the fun! Thrivent Care in Community Program During 2014 groups completed two fund-raising activities benefiting the community and supported by matching funds from the Oklahoma County Thrivent Chapter through their Care in Community Program. The first activity raised over $600 and was matched with $200by Thrivent and benefited Habitat for Humanity. The second project was the Fall Festival which raised over $3300 and was matched by $1000 by Thrivent with the Oaks Indian Mission being the recipient of the funds. The Care in Community Program will be continued for 2015, but at a reduced level. However OLLC can, and should, submit proposals for more than one project for These requests must be submitted to the chapter prior to June 1, 2015 to be considered for matching funds. So if your committee or group has projects that would benefit from matching funds, please submit the project as early as possible. Another source of funding of Social Ministry projects is a new program involving Action Teams. This has been addressed in earlier bulletins. Church Council Report The Church Council met for its monthly meeting on Nov. 9 th. Pastor Amanda, Bill Lockard and Debbie Gudgel attended a Bishop s Summit on Nov. 7-8 concerning an impending Capital Campaign. Pastor Amanda, Jenny Myers and Fred Grosz attended the Conference 2 meeting held at Resurrection Lutheran in Yukon on Nov. 9 th. The Standing Committees have been active with a number of activities completed or planned. The Resources Committee is addressing a water leak in the old sanctuary and the Bradford Pear trees are being trimmed. The Witness Committee is working on revising the church brochure and preparing a welcome package. The Worship Committee has prepared the Christmas Eve Service and has scheduled decorating the sanctuary. The Children s Sunday School is undergoing some interesting and exciting projects. The Council approved the purchase of a new refrigerator to replace the one in the kitchen which is not functioning. An ad hoc Committee to determine the requirements that OLLC will look for in an Administrative Assistant to replace Diane Dewing will meet on Nov. 18 th at 6:30 p. m. A Welcome Night for guests and potential new members will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 17 th. Please invite others and attend if you are able.

3 HOLY COMMUNION Setting Ten Christ the King November 16, 2014 CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS The assembly stands. All may make the sign of the cross, the sign that is marked at baptism, as the presiding minister begins. In the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The presiding minister may lead one of the following or another prayer of preparation. God of all mercy and consolation, come to the help of your people, turning us from our sin to live for you alone. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit that we may confess our sin, receive your forgiveness, and grow into the fullness of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. The presiding minister announces God's forgiveness with these or similar words. In the mercy of almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for us, and for his sake God forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained minister of the church of Christ, and by his authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit. GATHERING SONG 821 Shout to the Lord During this time, the presiding minister and the assembly greet each other. The grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, And the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you. CREED Nicene Creed We believe! in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe! in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. 5 He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION An assisting minister invites the assembly into prayer with these or similar words. With the whole people of God in Christ Jesus, let us pray for the church, those in need, and all of God's creation. Prayers reflect the wideness of God's mercy for the whole world for the church universal, its ministry, and the mission of the gospel; for the well-being of creation; for peace and justice in the world, the nations and those in authority, the community; for the poor, oppressed, sick, bereaved, lonely; for all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit; for the congregation, and for special concerns. Additional prayers may come from the assembly. Prayers of thanksgiving for the faithful departed may include those who recently have died and those commemorated on the church's calendar. Each portion of the prayers ends with these or similar words: Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer. The presiding minister concludes the prayers with these or similar words. Into your hands, gracious God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy; through Jesus Christ, our Savior. 6

6 PEACE The presiding minister and the assembly greet each other in the peace of the risen Christ. The peace of Christ be with you always. And also with you. The people may greet one another with a sign of Christ's peace, and may say Peace be with you or similar words. The assembly is seated. Meal GREAT THANKSGIVING The presiding minister greets the assembly and invites all present to give thanks. The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise.we praise your name and join their unending hymn. OFFERING SONG #486 God Extends an Invitation An offering is gathered for the mission of the church, including the care of those in need. After the offering is gathered, the assembly stands. Bread, wine, money, and other gifts may be brought forward. After the table is set, the assisting minister may lead one of the following or a similar prayer. Holy God, gracious and merciful, you bring forth food from the earth and nourish your whole creation. Turn our hearts toward those who hunger in any way, that all may know your care; and prepare us now to feast on the bread of life, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. God of all creation, all you have made is good, and your love endures forever. You bring forth bread from the earth and fruit from the vine. Nourish us with these gifts, that we might be for the world signs of your gracious presence in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Blessed are you, O God, maker of all things. Through your goodness you have blessed us with these gifts: our selves, our time, and our possessions. Use us, and what we have gathered, in feeding the world with your love, through the one who gave himself for VI Holy God, mighty Lord, gracious Father: Endless is your mercy and eternal your reign. You have filled all creation with light and life; heaven and earth are full of your glory. 7 In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me. Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me. For as often as we eat of this bread and drink from this cup, we proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come again. COMMUNION The assembly may be seated. The bread may be broken for the communion. When giving the bread and cup, the communion ministers say The body of Christ, given for you. The blood of Christ, shed for you. and each person may respond Therefore, O God, with this bread and cup we remember the life our Lord offered for us. And, believing the witness of his resurrection, we await his coming in power to share with us the great and promised feast. Come, Lord Jesus. Send now, we pray, your Holy Spirit, that we who share in Christ's body and blood may live to the praise of your glory and receive our inheritance with all your saints in light. Come, Holy Spirit. Join our prayers with those of your servants of every time and every place, and unite them with the ceaseless petitions of our great high priest until he comes as victorious Lord of all. Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, almighty Father, now and forever. LORD S PRAYER Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil. In your mercy, strengthen us through this gift, in faith toward you and in fervent love toward one another; for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord. O God, we give you thanks that you have set before us this feast, the body and blood of your Son. By your Spirit strengthen us to serve all in need and to give ourselves away as bread for the hungry, through Jesus Christ our Lord. God of abundance, with this bread of life and cup of salvation you have united us with Christ, making us one with all your people. Now send us forth in the power of your Spirit, that we may proclaim your redeeming love to the world and continue forever in the risen life of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
