All regular meetings take place at 80 Sheppard Ave. E. at 7:00 p.m. OAPCE Toronto would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful people that have come out to our meetings and that have helped to make them as successful as they are! We would also like to thank each and every parent who contributes to their local school and community in an effort to enrich the Catholic school experience for all the students enrolled in our schools. Without all of your hard work, dedication and passion, none of the successes that we celebrate each and every day would be possible! We know that some of these dedicated people will not be returning in September and we reluctantly bid them farewell, along with our heartfelt wishes of joy and happiness! John Barrymore As yet another school year draws to an end; we look at our children and appreciate the many gains that they have made thus far. As parents, we have guided them, mentored them and then made that very difficult decision to step back and watch them take ownership of their own lives. Let s continue to encourage our children to not only be responsible persons, but caring and loving Catholics. Let s help our children rediscover Empathy; at school, on the bus, on the street, or wherever they may find themselves. Teach them kindness in the understanding of diversity amongst their peers. Teach them sacrifice in giving up their seat on the bus for someone that may need it more. Teach them compassion when showing them how important it is to help those less fortunate. God has given us this gift to be our children s teachers. We teach them through the words and through the actions that we model for them. With all of the turmoil in our world; it is important for us to speak to our children and answer their questions about some of the horrible things that happen around the world. Remember though that it is equally, if not more important that we empower them with the ability to know that positive change can start with them. I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples Mother Teresa

5 We asked for your Good News stories... We want you to toot your own horn! Here s what we got so far... St.Mary of the Angels Family hosted a Family Carnival Day on June 4th! There was an online silent auction which included an autographed ball signed by the Raptors Team along with a certificate of authenticity! St.Catherine s School hosted its first Family Games Night on April 29 th. Great fun was had by parents and kids playing board games. A Wii challenge competition and a dance off to end the evening! Madonna Catholic Secondary School had an Engaging Newcomers Event on Wednesday May 18 th which provided Newcomer parents with translated resources, a food share and a fun evening for all!

6 ...wait, there s more! Blessed Mother Teresa parents and staff celebrating a successful year together! St.Helen had an International Food Night on May 27 th. Everyone brought their own dish and celebrated their culture while supporting the school!
