3 The Apostles' Call and Ours But note both their faith and their obedience. For though they were in the midst of their work (and you know how time consuming a chore fishing is), when they heard His command they did not delay or procrastinate. They did not say, "Let us return home, and talk things over with our family." Instead, "they left everything behind and followed," even as Elisha did when he followed Elijah. For Christ seeks this kind of obedience from us, such that we delay not even for a moment, though something absolutely most necessary should vehemently press in on US. St. John Chrysoston The kingdom of heaven has no price tag on it. It is worth as much as you have. For Zacchaeus it was worth half of what he owned, because the other half that he had unjustly pock- eted he promised to restore four-fold. For Peter and Andrew it was worth the nets and vessel they had left behind; for the widow it was worth two copper coins; for another it was worth a cup of cold water. So, as we said, the kingdom of heaven is worth as much as you have. St. Gregory the Great Like Peter, Andrew, James and John, we have been called to discipleship. As such, we are given the name of "Christian." But are we conscious what that name stands for, what responsibility comes with it? It is more than just a title or a label. To be a disciple of Christ, to bear the name of Christian, compels us to take on the responsibility regardless of the difficulty and cost of living the Gospel every moment of our lives. "Glory to Jesus Christ!".- awian Catholic Church June 10, 2012 Second Sunday Area Code AS A SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY, our Parish Auxiliary will provide a catered luncheon for the 4th grade graduates and their families of the Bridgeport Elementary School this Monday, the 11th, at 12 noon. Some 325 guests will attend this event so we will need a lot of aid and many helpers. Please, Folks, come and lend a hand or two! We can't do without YOU. NEXT WEEKEND we will celebrate Fathers' Day in our Parish with our prayers and good wishes, along with some floral gifts, for all our parish fathers and men. We ask the good fellows of our St. John Society to gather in good numbers to sing the 9 am Divine liturgy on Sunday, the 17th, so that we can celebrate a powerful Liturgy on this special day of tribute for all our dear Fathers. WE WILL HONOR all our parish graduates, both college and highschool, next weekend, with our prayers and a fine gift. Please inform us of any graduates in your family this week. Our list to date includes: Highschoolers Nicole Dinich, Eugene Berezovski, Jonathan Plush, and Collegians Drew Maksymowych, Julie Rapine, Krista (Dankiw) Ludwig, Juliane Dankiw and Jon Plush. FILM PRODUCER Jon Cross directed a movie called "The Bookie" that was shot locally with several scenes on our church estate. This family-rated film will be premiered Wednesday, June 20 at 7:30 pm on screen at the Plymouth Meeting Mall Theater. Check it out! PLEASE REMEMBER all our parish elderly and ailing folks, especially Stefa Kusek, Mamie Budick, Ed Frailey, Kathy Brady, Barb Breitbarth, Tatianne Korzenowski, Irene Yaroma, Maryann Erdek, Bob Kovack, Frank Janoski, Helen Suzanne, Irene Dychdala, Dolly Hershey, Stella Krysko, George Sedor and all our suffering faithful. 5 WE THANK FATHER G. WORSCHAK for his great help on Memorial Day, both in church and at the cemetery. We were able to visit all the graves in good time and order and even attended to our faithful at St. Augustine Cemetery.
