2 Hey Harvest! Over the years, hundreds of people have experienced significant personal growth by participating in a Harvest Life Group. Harvest Life Groups follow the pattern seen in Acts 2:42. CONNECT by Having Fellowship and Breaking Bread Together We enjoy visiting and spending time together, usually while having co"ee, refreshments, or meals. GROW by Applying the Sunday Morning Message Group members share how the Sunday morning message a"ected them personally as we discuss thought-provoking questions that help us apply God s Word to our lives. SERVE by Praying for One Another Life Group provides the perfect opportunity to pray for each other in a very focused and specific way. Come and discover incredible, life-giving relationships by getting involved in a Life Group at Harvest. This directory is designed to help you know what groups we have available for you. Please feel free to contact me any time at I would love to help you find the group that is perfect for you. Come for life, Mark Leach Associate Pastor

5 LIFEGROUP APPLICATION QUESTIONS We believe the Sunday morning message is the word God is speaking to our church. We want to give everyone at Harvest the opportunity to apply God s Word to their individual lives. You can visit our website each week to find the Life Group Application Questions that will help you get ready for Life Group and put into practice what God speaks to your heart on Sunday morning. Visit We could not imagine our lives without Life Group! We first started attending Life Group because we wanted to grow spiritually. We have enjoyed getting to hear other perspectives on how to apply what we learned on Sunday. We have continued to attend Life Group throughout the years because we realize that we cannot live a Christian life without healthy relationships. We also like hearing about what God is doing in people s lives. In this way, Life Group encourages us and gives us hope. Our Life Group has ministered to us in so many ways, and it is a safe place to share what is going on in our lives the good times and hard times. We always know that we are loved and prayed for. Life Group is where we can receive godly advice from people we trust. Andrew & Brenda Martinez 5

7 Cruz Group Tomas Erin Zephyr - Plainview Leaders: Tomas & Erin Cruz Hosts: Je" & Karen Earhart Landon and I met each other while attending the Young Adult Life Group almost seven years ago. The members of our Life Group opened their home and hearts to us. Through this ministry we came to know who we were in Christ and the life-changing power of God. Life Group continues to impact us as a young family. Experience has taught us that being transparent and allowing ourselves to be known by other believers beyond Sunday morning leads us to experience a deeper relationship with God and others. We are not meant to experience life alone. We need one another. Life Group is a safe place to allow our real and not-so-polished everyday selves to be ministered to and to minister to others. This year, the first night we walked into our Life Group we both had heavy hearts. Life was hard. We chose to go beyond our feelings and attend a new Life Group in this new season of our lives. We began to experience the healing and freedom that comes when God s people show you His love and pray for you. We also had the opportunity to share a word of encouragement with someone else. We witnessed the Holy Spirit moving in ways that blew our minds. We left full of hope and joy in the Lord. So take the next step. Be brave. Join a Life Group. You won t regret it. 9 When Diana and I began visiting Harvest, we kept hearing about Life Groups and the value of being involved in one. After joining Harvest, I felt God leading us to become involved in a Life Group. The Holy Spirit put a fire in me at the age of 58, and I knew that there was so much more for us to experience. Attending Life Group was a step in faith toward showing us those things. WOW! God began to move in our lives. God has ministered to us countless times through our group. Because of Life Group, I realize that we all fall short and have areas in our lives that God continues to work on. Being able to share those things with other believers and know they still love and accept us, and that God still loves us and wants us to grow through those conversations and prayers, is powerful. As people begin to know and trust each other through the love of Christ, they begin to open up and get real. That is when the love and forgiveness you feel from your group is unbelievable! We look forward to Life Group because it is when we get to be with like-minded people who really want to encounter all God has for them. We can share the ups and downs of life while receiving love and encouragement from the group. We are never too old or young to grow in Christ, and that is why finding and continuing that journey in Life Group has been important for us. The idea of attending a Life Group with people I didn t know made my heart anxious. After making the decision to take that first step and go, I discovered it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I found acceptance, fellowship, friendships, family, and a place to grow in Christ. Two years ago I faced major back surgery which left me laid up for three months. I can t imagine recovering without my Life Group. It was through this time that I saw God s love for me through meals, prayers, phone calls, texts, and transportation home from the hospital. My faith grew as well. If you re not a part of a Life Group, take that first step and go. It s a safe place to connect and do life with others. Kathy Jones 11

13 Ortega Group Geronimo Dee Dee County Road R - Plainview Pleasant Hills Leaders & Hosts: Geronimo & Dee Dee Ortega When we first came to Harvest, there was a lot that was new to both April and me. The worship style, teachings, and just about everything was not what we were used to. It was awesome! We knew we were right where God wanted us and this was our church home. April liked the idea of Life Groups and making new friends at church. She was a little timid, but definitely open to the idea. But me...not so much! Going to someone's house that I didn't know and sharing anything personal was not high on my list of things to do. Ok, it wasn't even on my radar, and I didn t want it to be. Eventually, April convinced me to give Life Group a try, and the relationships we've built there still stand to this day. It took both of us a while to open up and share our hearts with our group. When we finally did, the growth in our relationship with each other, our new friends, and most importantly God was amazing! We now have friends that are there for us not only at church or Life Group, but anytime we need encouragement, prayer, or just to share a moment over coffee. God moves powerfully every week at Life Group. We encourage you to find a Life Group and get plugged in. Life-giving relationships are waiting for you too. Chris & April Hall 13

18 What about my kids during Life Group? What a great question! Here at Harvest, we provide an opportunity for kids of all ages to receive age appropriate ministry on Wednesday nights during the time our Life Groups meet. Kid City Wednesdays are all about growing in relationship with Christ and one another. Not unlike Life Groups, we focus on teaching our kids how to do life together in Christ-centered relationships, and it all starts with knowing who they are in Christ. It is our hope that these early years here at Harvest will be the first steps in a lifelong adventure in Christ. Your children will not want to miss a Wednesday night! Drop O! & Pick Up - You are welcome to bring your infant-5th grader to Kid City beginning at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings. Please check in your child at one of our four check-in stations and take them to their designated classroom. Please be sure to bring the corresponding check-out receipt when picking up your child by 8:30pm. All children will only be released with this receipt. I m so excited to play a role in helping you to raise up children who will transform the world for Christ by making disciples who make His way known! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to contact me at or amy@harvestchristianfellowship.org. Blessings, Amy Stevens Director of Kid City Every Wednesday night during Life Groups, 6 th 12 th grade students gather to worship Jesus, connect with friends, and walk out their faith together. With passionate worship, relevant and inspiring messages, and impactful ministry times, CATALYST is a cannot miss weekly experience for students. CATALYST brings change. Change happens as we all move towards and put our hope and trust in Jesus. At CATALYST, the Gospel is presented, as well as principles for discipleship that will lead our students toward change, no matter where they are in their relationship with Christ. 6:30PM Doors open for games and hang out 7:00 8:30PM Service in the Auditorium I am excited to join with you in ministering to the youth of your family. 19 Harvest Christian Fellowship 4411 Olton Road Plainview, Texas harvestchristianfellowship.org The best environment for lifelong transformation to take place is within community. Besides faith in Jesus, nothing else reaps such rich rewards as being connected with other believers and intentionally investing into ourselves and each another. We believe our walk with God is a journey of discipleship that leads us to a place of spiritual maturity. We deepen our relationships with God and others as we apply God s Word to our lives. The ultimate expression of Christian maturity is serving each other. We serve by praying for each other, meeting the genuine needs of people, and by volunteering in the various ministries of the church, in order to create an environment where people experience God. 19
