3 Dearest Missionary Friends The purpose of our newsletters has always been to bring the highest honour and glory to God. Without Him we will be nothing. But the grace of our God, His love and mercy is so great that He uses weak and insignificant vessels like us to do His work and to build His Kingdom. This is too wonderful for us and for this reason our hearts are full of joy and praise to the alone worthy God and Father in our Jesus Christ who can do far more than we can ever think or pray. All honour to His holy Name. In Him we rejoice greatly. Two months ago we mentioned the fact that we want to celebrate our Mission s 35th year s existence. We wanted to show our thanks to the Lord for the fact that He kept us going through all these years. On the photo we see Dr Martin Steyn the Mission s Chairman who gave an inspiring and encouraging message on that day. Everyone there could testify of an interesting and blessed afternoon and they enjoyed it very much. Sammy Ranguingan and his family have been involved in Missionary work in Cambodia for over 15 years. He was the first Filipino missionary that was supported by this Mission supported. Unfortunately, his supporter went to be with the Lord, and at the moment he has no financial or prayer support from our side. We are placing a short report to give an idea of the work he is now doing, and would ask if any of our friends feel that they are led to become his supporter by giving R500 or more per month. Apart from that, also to pray for him, his family and the ministry on a regular basis. Anyone that feels led to do this can contact Yvonne at any of the abovementioned telephone numbers. 5 Perlito and Rose do excellent work in the city of Poipet, Cambodia. They do everything they can to save as many children as they can from becoming sex slaves. Apart from that they also have a congregation and an after school centre. Unfortunately they are meeting with tough times at the moment. The house they are renting for the after school centre is going to be sold, and their car must be replaced as it is giving too many problems. They are hoping to find something like a bus, so that they can transport the 70 kids at one time. These children must be transported to several schools, then back to the after school centre and again to their homes. A smaller car is also needed for their own needs. Apart from that they are seriously calling to the Lord for many more workers in the vast mission field of many millions! Children cared for by the Gatmens

6 Captions from the reports of the Filipino team Irene Baniaga works in a most distant part of the Mountain Province on the upper part of the island of Luzon. Almost every time she has to send her report there is a problem with the internet connection. This time she had to send her report of maybe more than an A4 page on her cell phone by SMS. This really asks for a special attitude of pressing through. We admire her for her effort, she is a unique person. A part of her report was as follows: I went to a family in Palpaltingan and had a bible study with Ruby and Espen. The next time I went there we talked about a pagan prayer meeting called Dindinay where they consult other spirits and seek for guidance. Usually the evil spirit will demand something costly. I told them that God hates this kind of prayer and I read Deuteronomy 18: I feel they need more clarification. Ruby said that this passage is talking about Holy Communion which one must take to have eternal life. This is the reason they give Holy Communion to a dying person so that one can have eternal life. In light of this misinterpretation, I quoted some bible passages such as John 6:40 and other more in this chapter that tell us we can have eternal life only by accepting Jesus as Saviour and Lord. How thankful we are for the work of Irene who can speak into the deep dark hearts of people and help them to come out of darkness into the wonderful light of Jesus Christ. Paul Sedano is Imelda s youngest son (11 years old) and recently he chose to follow Jesus Christ one hundred percent. Imelda says that Paul has an active interest in the Bible Study about Keys to answered prayer (also still written by Dr Pieter Conradie) and he asks his mother many questions about the concerned scripture passages. Lately he has started praying with authority and he quotes scripture when he prays. Rholda Cayabas writes: At 10 o clock in the morning I received a call from Bontoc that the mother of one of our disciples died. I quickly went to find a bus to take me there (about 6 hours travelling). From 7.30 pm to 11pm

7 it was an opportunity to share the Word of God. The Holy Spirit was leading me to share about the life of Lazarus and the rich man. Most people attending the wake of the dead person were pagans. I really thank the Lord that they were open to be evangelized. Most of them surrendered their lives to the Lord as they were led in the sinner s prayer. Because this newsletter is also meant for the month of December we would also like to thank everyone of our missionary friends for standing with us in many instances right through the year. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you have meant to us during this year. Thanks for spending time to pray for us, supporting us financially and also for those who wrote to us and showed your appreciation for what we are doing. It s almost impossible to believe that the year is already coming to an end and this shows us how everything on earth is just temporary. We then realize once more that only what we are doing for the Lord Jesus Christ is going to last; all the other things will disappear with time. This is also the time when we reflect on the birth, crucifixion and soon appearing of our Lord Jesus. If we think of what He did for us on the cross by paying the full price, and suffering the most horrific pain and that all because He loved us so much that He wanted us to be set free of our sins. Let us therefore serve Him with more dedication as each day goes by. We therefore wish you a most blessed Christmas time together with your loved ones and friends. We are so thankful for our Filippino team who, for most part are doing excellent work. The same can be said of the team in Cambodia, and also our dear Mercy in China. We would also like to bring under everyone of our missionary friends at-

8 tention that Yvonne and Gretna will be leaving for the Philippines on the 28th November to spend about three weeks there. Prayer Points 1. Please pray for Yvonne and Gretna in the Philippines. They will have a very full program. 2. Also pray for Perlito and Rose according to what they have written and about their needs. 3. Pray that the Lord will supply another sponsor for Sammy Ranguingan and his family. 4. Thank the Lord for us for the funds that have come in, but please ask that more will come in so that greater work can be done for the Kingdom of God. 5. Please pray that the value of the Rand will increase again. It is very hard to transfer sufficient funds for the teams because of the weakness of our money.
