The Glory of Christmas: Celebrating Christ s Birth is a delightful musical experience presented under the director of Ruth James. 7 All Deaconesses There will be a short meeting today in the Training Room immediately following the church service for all Deaconesses. Thank you! Thunder in the Holy Land Training - Tomorrow Join us tomorrow, Sunday, December 16 th in the Multipurpose Room for brunch at 10:00 AM and the Thunder Training to follow. If we re praying for 200 guests to join us for Thunder in the Holy Land beginning on January 4 at 6:00 PM, then we need 40 small group leaders trained and ready to go. It s easy, it s fun, and most importantly, it will be a blessing for you and our guests. If you can t make it Sunday we re having another training Thursday, December 27 at 6:30 PM. The Veggie Food Store Make sure to plan ahead and get your necessities from the Veggie Food Store before they close for the holidays! The store will be closed on Tuesday December 25, Thursday December 27, and Tuesday January 1. New Year s Eve Dinner and a Movie The Grants Pass Church s Prayer Ministry will be hosting a movie and dinner get-together on New Year s Eve followed by discussion and prayer. We will be showing the exciting and new documentary Kingdoms in Time which was just released by Amazing Facts. All are welcome to come to the Better Living Center at 5:30 PM on Monday, December 31. Please bring a pot of your favorite soup or loaf of bread and join us as we begin the New Year with prophecy and prayer! 2 nd Annual Spiritual Goal Planning Workshop You are invited to a "Spiritual Goal Planning" workshop on Sunday, January 6 th in the Better Living Center. This workshop, sponsored by your Growing! & Going! committee, runs from 12:00 to 2:30 PM. The purpose of the workshop is to set and achieve goals in a God-inspired way. The workshop is free and open to all church members. We re planning on serving a healthy potluck brunch and are asking for everyone who will be attending to bring a simple dish to share. 8 Sabbath Fellowship Meal Many of you saw the video at the end of church last Sabbath. Thank you for the positive feedback and thank you to Pastor Byrd for his vision and videography skills and for those who participated in the video. This video testimony was intended to help us all see Sabbath Fellowship as more than just a meal but as an opportunity for rich personal ministry fellowship. If you missed seeing the video it will air again later this month. Further information will be coming outlining the exciting new changes to our Sabbath Fellowship ministry. We have a lot of great plans in store and will need everyone s help to make it happen! Also, if you currently have a team and want to continue to host once a quarter please contact Carrie Hise via text or phone at no later than December 20th. Thank you in advance for your support! Help the Junior/Earliteens send gifts to the Philippines Our church s Junior/Earliteen Class has set a goal to earn and/or collect enough money to send at least one $100 Christmas gift to the Philippines through the Adventist World Aviation Project. Please stop by the table in the foyer which has pictures of what can be provided for each monetary amount, from $25 - $1,000. The more money we can raise, the more gifts can be sent! Please consider being a blessing to others by giving to our project coins, dollar bills, anything that you can give would be appreciated! This Sabbath December 15 th is the deadline. Church Calendar Scheduling To avoid scheduling conflicts, please contact the church office when planning an event or when you need to use a room in the church, the sanctuary, or the Better Living Center. All activities, and especially those other-than-thenormally-scheduled usages, must be put on the church calendar. Thank you! 9 Media Ministry The Grants Pass SDA Church is a media church, so please be aware that our church service is recorded for viewing via television, internet, and is streamed live. Please note that anyone participating in the 11 AM worship time, including (but not limited to) announcements and children s story, will be recorded. As a worshiper, if you don t wish to be seen on camera, please sit in the far right section behind the first five rows. Thank you. Dorcas Many in the community of Grants Pass are blessed with food and clothing that is distributed from our center. As the weather gets cooler and the holidays approach, the number of people in need increases, as does our need for helpers/workers in the Dorcas, Thrift Store, and Soup Kitchen. Any amount of time you can volunteer, in any position, would be greatly appreciated. Currently small camper size propane tanks (empty or full) are needed. Please call for more information. Thank you! Church Flowers A floral arrangement is a beautiful way to honor or remember someone you love or admire and is a blessing for our congregation and the extended TV viewing audience as well. Please reserve a Sabbath of your choice on the calendar located in the church office hallway. Do You Need Prayer Today?
