2 In a world where logos and icons are everywhere, it is vitally important to that your parish establishes a clear and recognizable look. Priests, business managers, parish administrators and those that help with communications need to work together to develop a clear parish identity that reflects your church's culture and communicates your vision. 2

25 parish logo The logo may be used in black, our signature green, blue or gray, or reversed-out of a color in white. The logo may appear with or without the name of the church underneath. Saint Clement parish 25

26 colors Our colors are derived from the rich stained glass of the chapel and the stately stone exterior of the church. The deep green symbolizes spiritual life and growth. The nautical blue is a visual reference to the martyrdom of our namesake, Pope Clement I. The gray is a humble, neutral color associated with prayer and fasting. 34 St. Monica's reputation as a vibrant, diverse and growing parish, proceeded them when Fishhook began collaborating on their new website. The parish was looking for a website that truly reflected online, who they were in person. 34

35 Leadership had several communications priorities for the parish including: An accessible, clear and organized website with a strategic approach to communicate to all audiences (New navigation and wayfinding online). A website that reflects the warmth and vibrancy of the parish culture and is a safe place to find out about ministries and involvement in the church (Care & Support priority, as well as photography). Language and messaging for both the Catholic and non-catholic audiences. (including an "I'm not Catholic" FAQ). 35

54 Initial questions to ask: What makes you unique? What image do you want to project? What history does your church have? Is your building (or part of your building) iconic? What are the best parts of your identity? How can they be emphasized? Identities get watered down over time. How can we distill ours? 54

55 Cost? Do we have to recreate or start from scratch? Do we hire a design firm or a logo designer? Do we first hire a brand consultant so we know what steps we need to take? Do we need a new website? Should that be factored in to the overall project. 55
