2 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ Thank you in advance for praying. The fact that you are reading this means that you are an intercessor. You willingly go before the Father on behalf of others, in this case teenagers and the adult missionaries to those teenagers so that young people may come to know God the Creator as their Father through Jesus Christ. Listen to what the Apostle Paul said to the Ephesians in chapter 6:18-20: "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given to me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should." His request through this letter to the Ephesians and therefore by proxy to us is that we should pray a lot, for a lot of different things, and for a lot of people! But I think the words that grab me most are "Pray also for me". Paul reveals his view on prayer related ministry, that he depends on others to pray to God on his behalf for his ministry to be effective. And so it is with a grateful humility that I thank you for praying on behalf of teenagers and on behalf of us as we are desperate to have words given to us to fearlessly make known to teenagers the mystery of the gospel and desperate for said teenagers to become one of the "Lord's people". 4 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ staff Please pray for: Chris Thompson (Lisa) Adam, Abigail, Sarah, Rebekah & Caleb Executive Director - my spiritual leadership of my family, Youth for Christ, my church, and community - my children to seek first the Kingdom of God and all His righteousness - my increased discipline in reading, exercising, and finances - wisdom that comes from a deep, abiding presence of Christ in me - my physical strength to fulfill my calling - complete dependence on God as He leads me - courage to speak all that God directs and go where God leads - sensitivity to the real needs of the staff and how to address or lead them - supernatural efficiency and energy that defies standard limitations

5 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ STAFF Andrew Barney (Becky) South Fayette Campus Life - that Becky and I would continue to keep God at the center of our marriage - for wisdom and good stewardship in the home-buying process - that Becky and I would make time for each other between our busy schedules

6 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ staff Please pray that: Alina Chapman Peters Township Campus Life - I will be confident in my abilities as a leader in which God has created me - I will be able to time manage throughout marching band season and that stress won't burn me out - I will grow spiritually and closer with God as I do ministry and see His works

7 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ STAFF Dan Dlugos (Allison) Aaron, Nathan & Lydia Operations Director & South Park Campus Life - that I would lead myself well, staying on the path God has placed me on, and constantly striving to align my heart with God's heart - that I would lead my family well, providing for their physical, spiritual and mental needs - that I would focus on the most important question (John 21:15-17)

8 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ staff JR Gardner (Erica) Crescenzo, Gabriella, Josiah, Gionno & Rocco Canonsburg Campus Life, the Armory - that God would use me to build His kingdom here in Canonsburg - for Erica and I to grow closer to each other and to the Lord - for wisdom to lead my family - that all of my kids would have a passion to put their relationship with God first and lead others to Him - for God to use my family and I to impact our community

9 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ STAFF April Hart (Andrew) Axis & Downtown Campus Life, the Cellar - for continued, quick responsiveness to God's will - for continued growth in ministry skills - that Andrew and I would intentionally grow together towards Christ and glorify Him in all we do - for Andrew's job and his clients - that Andrew and I would have boldness and courage in sharing and showing the love of Christ to those who cross our paths

10 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ staff Josh Nirella (Laura) Isaac, Elan, Lydia, Sienna & Daniel Bethel Park Middle School Director - for God's protection, provision and blessings over my marriage/family - that I am able to manage all of my responsibilities: family, work, pastoring and Campus Life - for some external family relationships - for my personal walk with God

11 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ staff Pam Hart (Steve) Joanna (Mark) & Andrew (April) Development Director - that I would always strive to glorify God in my home, work, and relationships with others - for continued good health, strength, and energy to serve God in the areas to which He has called me - for opportunities and abilities to build solid relationships with those who can help this ministry reach more teens - for God's protection on and provision for my family members

12 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ STAFF Gail Hoppe (Keith) Hannah, Nathan, Jessica, Adam & Julia Administrative Assistant - that I maintain a Biblical work/home balance, keeping my family first - that God would continually give me peace in a new phase of life. (Hannah is going off to college in the fall. BIG change for me.)

14 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites Axis Ministry Meeting Times Vary throughout the week April Hart - that God provides direction for this ministry - for continued awareness to the post high school aged young adult - for God to provide financially for the ministry - for boldness and courage in sharing the Gospel Canonsburg Campus Life, the Armory Meeting Times Tuesdays at 7:00 pm JR Gardner jrgardner@yfcmp.org - that volunteer leaders are trained and equipped to run the ministry effectively - for the partnership and collaboration of the local churches, schools and community organizations - for God to use this ministry to reach lost teenagers and introduce them to a relationship with Jesus - for God to use this ministry to disciple all students who come to know the Lord - for our mentor program to launch and powerfully impact our community and at-risk students

15 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites Bethel Park Middle School Campus Life Meeting Times Mondays at 7:15 pm Josh Nirella - that God would open doors for YFC/Campus Life in the community - that God opens hearts in kids/families - for Godly leaders/volunteers and God's provision, protection and blessing on their families - that kids and families come to Christ Bethel Park High School Campus Life Meeting Times Thursdays at 7:30 pm Chris Thompson cthompson@yfcmp.org - that many unsaved teenagers hear the gospel clearly and being compelled by the Holy Spirit, accept the Lord into their hearts and follow Him - for God to raise up student leaders who share Christ with friends - for a unified and passionate adult leader team - for my development and empowerment of leaders and their personal ownership of ministry - for strong and consistent discipleship of the Christian male students currently involved

16 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites Downtown Campus Life, the Cellar Meeting Times Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays at 3:30 pm April Hart - for additional volunteer leaders (especially male) - for God to provide financially for the ministry - for God's grace to sweep through CAPA and City High - for open doorways into each school - boldness and courage in sharing the Gospel Peters Township Middle School Campus Life Meeting Times Fridays at 3:00 pm Alina Chapman achapman@yfcmp.org - that we will have an influx of students coming to club this year - that we will be able to get something together to have a club ministry this year - that God will put leaders and mentors in our path to come alongside the students and help them grow

17 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites Peters Township High School Campus Life Meeting Times Mondays at 7:30 pm Alina Chapman Please pray that: - we will have an influx of students coming to club this year - high school club will grow together and become a family for lost students - partying, drugs and alcohol won't have a hold on the students this year South Fayette Middle School Campus Life Meeting Times Mondays at 7:15 pm Andrew Barney abarney@yfcmp.org - for one male and one female volunteer leader to enter the ministry this fall - that new families would get connected to the ministry - that the other volunteer leaders and I would build relationships with the faculty and staff at the school

18 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ ministry sites South Fayette High School Campus Life Meeting Times Wednesdays at 7:30 pm Andrew Barney - for one additional male leader to enter the ministry this fall - for the students in our student leadership program, that they would prioritize their relationships with Christ - that God would continue to provide for the ministry financially - for more underclassmen to become connected to the ministry South Park Campus Life Meeting Times Mondays at 7:30 pm (HS), Tuesdays at 7:00 pm (MS) Dan Dlugos ddlugos@yfcmp.org - that our relationship with the churches in the community continues to grow and flourish - that God would raise up a team of leaders who are excited about bringing the Gospel to the community - that students and their families would be connected with local churches as a direct result of their involvement in Campus Life

20 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Teenagers Please pray for teenagers: - to recognize the lies of the enemy - to be humbled by their sin and see a need for their Savior - to repent and find their hope and salvation in Christ alone - to be filled with joy and peace by the indwelling power of Christ in them - to live and speak courageously for the cause of Jesus Christ Pray for Student Trips Please pray for: - a large group of unsaved kids to attend each trip - Christian students to bring and share Christ with their non-christian friends - physical safety and spiritual protection - excellent preparation and personnel to execute the plan - the power of the Holy Spirit to drive programming and NOT vice versa

21 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Volunteer Leaders Please pray for volunteer leaders: - that the Lord of the Harvest would send more laborers into the fields - with a capacity or proclivity for relationships with teenagers - who aren't afraid or judgemental of the mess that surrounds a lost soul - who are passionate about the Gospel as the only redemption for brokenness - who themselves are abiding deeply in Christ and ministering to teens out of the overflow of God's power and presence in their own life Pray for Board of Directors Please pray for our current members: - Mike Whitehead, Chair - LaVonne Franjione - Perity Timm, Vice Chair - Bob Kiebler - Larry Diday, Treasurer - Roger Zelt - that they would be prayerful and humbly seek the Lord for His direction - that the Holy Spirit would equip them with wisdom and inspire their decisions - that they would lead the organization with the right mix of faith and strategic thinking - that their hearts would be passionately motivated by the mission to lost teenagers - that God would add 3 more to this team this fall

22 Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ volunteers, ministry & organization Pray for Office/Development Please pray for Office/Development: - to support and trust one another and grow together as a team - for clear, honest and intentional communication - to continue to fine-tune our systems to maximize efficiency - for our office to be a place of inspiration, encouragement and creativity for all of the staff and those who visit - to achieve a high return on investment of the hours they work - to love the mission of reaching kids for Christ and see clearly their connection to it in support of the ministry staff - to effectively engage the community in sharing the need for this mission by telling the story of lost kids coming to Christ - in generating awareness among more churches and local businesses of our mission and work in Pittsburgh - to hold successful events that bring in the funding that is needed to reach more teens - to gain favor in the eyes of foundations who will award grant money to help fund more ministry to teens
