1 THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST ANDREW IN WELLS Services and Music List May and June 2013
2
3 WELCOME The Services and Music List for May and June takes us into the seasons of Pentecost and Trinity when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples, and the birth of the church formed and guided by that same Spirit. Musically it also includes this year s new music wells festival, which celebrates music composed in the last forty years. This year we are fortunate to have two new pieces written especially for Wells Cathedral Choir by the celebrated composer John Joubert. These will receive their first performances on Sunday June 16th. Do read through the Services and Music List, as there are several other musical and spiritual highlights in these months. If you are visiting Wells in May and June I hope that you will come and join in the prayer and worship of this great cathedral, where music contributes so greatly to the beauty of holiness. The Very Reverend John Clarke, Dean of Wells Communicant members of other churches in good standing are welcome to receive the Sacrament in this church if they so desire.
