Don t miss Men s and Women s Fellowship to enjoy a valuable opportunity with him on May 19 th as he celebrates Mass at 7:30am and then follows up with teaching on a topic he chooses for our benefit. Father would like to bless our cars too before he leaves. We will all have an opportunity to sign a book and express our gratitude before or after Mass in the narthex at the Hospitality Center or during the fellowship brunch on Sunday, May 20 th in the Social Hall. 3 Help Needed at Hospitality Center Many of you have probably noticed and Father has mentioned our Hospitality Center. It is located in the narthex of the church just to your right as you walk through the front doors. We need your help in covering this Host ministry. Walt Kreucher has made this opportunity run very smoothly by providing a binder that contains answers to most questions. What we need is for you to be at the center 15 minutes prior to any of our Masses and stay after Mass for 15 minutes. Please do consider this ministry. Altar Server of the Month Finn McIsaac Monthly Food Collection- Thank You! Rebuilding Together Oakland County Thank you! On Saturday April 28 th, Our Lady of Refuge volunteers joined forces with over 3,300 other community volunteers in Oakland County to provide much needed home repairs to 1,350 homes of low-income residents. Our group was part of a team that provided assistance to an elderly woman recovering from serious health issues. Several smoke detectors and a Carbon monoxide detector were installed. The outside home repairs consisted of replacing fascia and soffit boards, painting trim, rescreening windows, removing solar panels on the garage, trimming trees and shrubs and cleaning up the yard. Many thanks go out to the hard working volunteers who represented our parish; Tom, Jodi, and Jay Siberski, Michael and Margo Darcy, and Dan Beresh. Our next Rebuilding Together is Saturday April 27 th, 2019, so mark your calendar! Thank you Ray Bednark My name is Finn McIsaac. I am a 5 th grader at Roosevelt Elementary School and am looking forward to starting middle school at Abbott next year. I enjoy playing video games and like to work at the concession stand for Lakeland Baseball. In the winter months, I enjoy skiing up north with my family. My love for altar serving started when my brother started serving last year, but I wasn't old enough yet. As soon as I started 5 th grade, I immediately signed up to train to be a server. I enjoy being a server because it allows me to participate in Mass. Knights of Columbus Council 600 Ultrasound machine initiative for AWPC Council #600 has started the process of collecting funds and applying for matching funds from KofC Supreme organization to provide a new ultrasound machine to Another Way Pregnancy Center. The process takes close to 6 months and AWPC will need a new machine in 9 months. If you would like to help support this initiative, please contact Oscar Mittelstaedt, oem0604@gmail.com.

4 The Summit 2018 Summer Teen Retreat If you enjoyed the Rainbow conference or conferences like Rainbow, you are going to LOVE The Summit! The Summit is an overnight, awesome summer teen retreat! This high school conference will inspire your faith, bring you closer to God while meeting and making new friends. Bring a friend, or two, or come alone and meet new friends!! The 2018 Summit features the inspiring, Mr. Peace, with special guest, Chelsea Gheesling of the Good Girl Comeback. There will be inspiring talks and challenges, Adoration Reconciliation and Mass, a dance, campfires, sunsets and community. Our Lady of Refuge (is so excited to be hosting the retreat! It will take place Saturday, August 25 7:30am until Sunday August 26 to 3pm. We need to pray daily that God will connue to reveal to us this m Prepare for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit this Pentecost with prayer, meditaon on the daily Scripture readings, and part the Sacraments of Reconciliaon and Eucharist. Come Holy Spirit! Pray, Encounter, Grow, Witness! Mary, Queen of Heaven, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, and our Mother, intercede for us as we pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. SAVE THE DATE Coming SOON Our Lady of Refuge Vacation Bible School 2018 When: June Time: 9am Noon Who 4yrs (by Sept. 1st) to finished 5th grade (6th grader and up are volunteers) Cost: $60 per camper until June 8. $75 until June 15. Each day campers will learn a new Bible story and enjoy crafts, music, games and a snack. This year will have special performance to start and end our day! Campers are in groups based on their age. If you would like your child to be in a group with a friend please write their name on the form. Please understand that this is a request and we will do our best to accommodate everyone. Forms are available in the Religious Education Office. The week before VBS an will be sent to you letting you know which group your child will be in and where to go Monday morning.
