1 General Information ICC Holy Mass Schedule Dear friends, The Holy Mass Schedule is "growing", so you again will find the schedule of the present week. Everything will be as usual, with TWO exceptions: there will be NO Holy Mass on Friday, and there will be a ONE SHARED HOLY MASS on Sunday at 10:00 am, so NO Mass (but a party) at 12:30! We will celebrate the feast of John the Baptis, patron of our church then. For the program of this Feast, and for other important information, see below. John the Baptist, Sunday June 24 On Sunday June 24, there will be NO INTERNATIONAL MASS at 12:30. Instead there will be a joined Dutch/International Holy Mass at 10:00 am. This means you will have to get up a little bit earlier. But this has a reason: we then, with the whole Wageningen Catholic Community, will celebrate the feast of St. John the Baptist, patron of our church. After the Mass there will be a party, with some food and drinks, and with special activities for the children. ICC, of course, also belongs to the Wageningen Catholic Community, so you are all invited. You are also invited to join the special choir which will sing during the Holy Mass on that day. More detailed information: invitation. For your diary: Annual Introduction Days (August 18 and 22) It will take some time (first exams and holidays!), but before you know it, the Annual Introduction Days of the University will start again. They are from August 17 till August 22; We are planning to open the church and perhaps have some activities on the church-square on the Saturday afternoon (August 18), since the students will have a city tour then, and we have rented a stand for the Info market at the Arboretum for the wednesday afternoon (August 22). We hope some of you will have the time to give us a helping hand then, in order to introduce all (new) students to our Catholic Community and let them feel at home here as soon as possible! For your diary: Discussiongroup (August 29) The next discussiongroup Bible, Faith, Philosophy will be on August 29, at 20:00 pm in Father Henri's house. (address: Bergstraat 17; when you stand in front of the church, it is the first house at the right). Looking for volunteers: Do you like to sing? Both our International choir and our African choir are always looking for new members. For more information, see General Information ICC By the way: You don't need to be African to sing in the African choir!! Looking for volunteers: Do you like to drink coffee/tea? Then you probably also will try to help us out in serving the coffee and tea once and a while :-) There is a list on the "bar" (where the coffee is served) on which you can chose a date on which you want to volunteer. NB it is THE opportunity to prepare the coffee the way you like it! And it is THE opportunity to learn how our fancy dish-washer works!

2 back to page-1 INVITATION Feast of John the Baptist, June 24 for the whole Wageningen Catholic Community, which also includes YOU! John the Baptist, patron of our church, was born on June 24, six months before Jesus was born. When Mary, just being pregnant of Jesus, visited her niece Elisabeth, the baby leaped in Elisabeths womb. John baptised Jesus in the Jordan river. I will prepare the way for the coming of the Lord", he said of his position in relation to Jesus. So, there is much to say about John the Baptist Reason enough to put him and our church (named after him) in the spotlight......and that is what will be done: Everybody is welcome to celebrate the feast of John the Baptist in our Church: Exhibition (June 23, 24, 30, July 1) About: o The life of John the Baptist portrayed on the basis of artworks o The history of our "John the Baptist church" in Wageningen With both Dutch and English captions. The church will be open on these days from 14:00-17:00 to visit the exposition and to drink a cup of John the Baptist tea. Holy Mass (June 24, 10:00 am) Since we want to celebrate this special feast with the whole Wageningen Catholic Community, the feast will begint with the celebration of a combined Dutch/International Holy Mass at 10:00 am. This means there will be NO INTERNATIONAL MASS on that day! Party in the Verrijzeniszaal and in the garden (June 24, after Holy Mass) After the Holy Mass, it is party time! Time to meet each other; try to get to know new people. You can even try to learn a Dutch John the Baptist-song! We will start with coffee and tea buffet, followed by a cup of soup and some other food and drinks. There will be special activities for the children. In the garden there will be a John the Baptist fire, and... it is said that John de Baptist himself will come and visit us..? Curious? Try to be there! Special choir: Looking for singers (for the Holy Mass) For this special celebration, there will be a special choir. María Trinn will be the conductor. Everybody who wants to join as a singer is welcome! There will be two rehearsals: On Monday, June 11, 20:00, and on Sunday June 24, at 9:00 am in the Church. It would be really great if we would have a nice mixed choir singing in this special Holy Mass! ICC also belongs to the Wageningen Catholic Community, so we hope that the feast of St. John the Baptist will connect and bring together the Dutch and International Wageningen Catholics to one community in faith!

3 back to page-1 Saint John walk (June 24) On June 24, there will also be a special walking tour from the church at the Market to the remnants of an old chapel at the Wageningse Berg. Both churches are named after John the Baptist. Around 11:40 the participants will have a short break on the square of our church, to listen to a special narrator, telling a five minute story of John the Baptist. You could join this walking tour, but thén you will miss our party... Little request for contact-persons At the end of this newsletter you can find the general information about our ICC.
