During first centuries Christian Era, winter solstice was kept on January 6. In opposition pagan festivals, Christians chose this day celebrate various manifestations, or epiphanies, Jesus divinity. These showings his divinity included his birth, coming Magi, his baptism, Wedding at Cana where he miraculously changed water in wine. The day was called The Feast Lights. Celebration Son God replaced celebration sun. Baptisms were done, a season preparation was instituted which later became known as Advent. In keeping with day s mes, we renew our Baptismal Vows in each our liturgies, we baptize several individuals at 11am service in Church. We also sing carol We Three Kings. It was written by John Henry Hopkins Jr. in 1857, recr Christ Episcopal Church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He wrote carol for a Christmas pageant in New York City. At Offerry, Chorale sings an early 17th Century text which speaks God s Incarnation in baby Jesus. The musical setting presented day, The Word Made Flesh, is by contemporary British composer, organist, choir direcr Philip Wilby.
