Douglas MacArthur, the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in the Pacific during WWII, recounted: History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline. There has been either a spiritual awakening to overcome the moral lapse, or a progressive deterioration leading to ultimate national disaster. Mark Twain: It is by the goodness of God that in our country we have those three unspeakably precious things: freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, and the prudence never to practice either of them.

In his Inaugural Address 1901 T. Roosevelt said, I reverently invoke for my guidance the direction and favor of Almighty God. Franklin D. Roosevelt in his fourth Inaugural Address in 1945 stated, So we pray to Him now for the vision to see our way clearly... to the achievement of His will, to peace on earth. Harriet Tubman, former slave who repeatedly risked her life to free over 300 slaves said: Twant me, 'twas the Lord: I always told him, I trust to you. I don't know where to go or what to do, but I expect you to lead me, and he always did. Woodrow Wilson, 28 th President of the United States: A nation which does not remember what it was yesterday, does not know what it is today, nor what it is trying to do. We are trying to do a futile thing if we do not know where we came from or what we have been about.... The Bible.... is the one supreme source of revelation of the meaning of life, the nature of God and spiritual nature and needs of men. It is the only guide of life which really leads the spirit in the way of peace and salvation. Edmund Burke: What is liberty without wisdom and without virtue?
