The Chief Guest of the meeting was Sh. Sanjay Kumar, General Manager, Network-I, LHO, Chandigarh. Sh. Abhijit Majumdar, General Manager, Network-III and Sh. D.B. Singh, Dy. General Manager and C.D.O., LHO, Chandigarh, also attended the meeting as our valuable guests. Sh. K.K. Trikha, Dy. General Secretary of the SBI Officers Association, Sh. H.B.S. Batra, President of SBI Staff Association and Sh. Parmod Kumar, General Secretary of the S/C S/T Welfare Association also attended the meeting on our invitation. After the lighting of the lamp, the above mentioned dignitaries were honoured by the Pensioner's Association. Sh. A.C. Rambani, President of the Association welcomed the Guests and our members who had come to attend the meeting from various centres of the Chandigarh Circle Association. Sh. Sanjay Kumar, G.M. Network-I, 1 the Chief Guest spoke about mobile Banking of the Bank including "BUDDY" for which the video presentation was also made by the Bank's officials. Kumar also thanked our Association for inviting him and wished good luck to all the members of the Pensioners' Association. Sh. Abhijit Majumdar, G.M. Network-III was also kind enough to say few words for our Association and also praised the contributions of the senior members of the Pensioners Association. Sh. D.B. Singh, Dy. General Manager and C.D.O. assured the members of the Association for any type of help from the Bank for the welfare of the Pensioners. Sh. K.K. Trikha, Dy. General Secretary, SBI Officers Association, Chandigarh Circle, Sh. H.B.S. Batra, President of the SBI Staff Association of the Circle and Sh. Parmod Indal also spoke highly of their seniors i.e. the Pensioners and assured their support to them from time to time in future also. Seventeen Pensioners attending the meeting on , who were more than 75 years, were honoured by the Association with Shawls presented to them by Sh. Sanjay Kumar, G.M. Network-I, Sh. Abhijit Majumdar, G.M. Network-III and Sh. D.B. Singh, The Dy. General Manager and C.D.O., LHO, Chandigarh. Our Pensioner Association of the Circle is very much thankful to the above dignitaries for their participation in our 2 A.G.M. by sparing their valuable time. The first session started at A.M. and ended at P.M. After tea break for 15 minutes, the business session started at 1 P.M. Once against, Sh. A.C. Rambani, our President, welcomed all the members present thereat and handed over the mike to Sh. T.R. Gupta, The General Secretary of the Pensioners Association of the Chandigarh Circle to apprise the members regarding activities of the Circle Association and Federation of Pensioners Association of SBI. The General Secretary read the report of and the Balance Sheet/Accounts for this period were unanimously passed by the members. S/Sh. V.K. Kalia, Vice President, Punjab Module-II, Y.P. Suri, Vice President, Punjab Module-I, also shared their views with the members. S/Sh. O.P. Banga, Vice President of Haryana Module, U.S. Negi of H.P. Module and Ujjagar Singh, Vice President of J&K Module were also present on the dais and watched all the proceedings of the Business Session. Nobody among the members present thereat raised any type of query which makes the Central Body of the Pensioners' Association, Chandigarh satisfied with their working and once again, we thank all the members who have come to attend the meeting from different areas of the Circle. The meeting ended with vote of thanks, by Sh. A.C. Rambani, President of the Circle Association followed by Lunch at 2.30 P.M. In the last but not the least, we are very much thankful to the A.G.M. (OAD), the A.G.M. (PPG) and the A.G.M. (Estate) at L.H.O. for their full support for providing us the North Block Hall at LHO for our meeting with all requisite facilities. Jalandhar Main Branch by raising slogans like "Jaikaara Laatan Wali Da..." & "Bol Chomunda Mata Ki Jai" etc. IN total, 30 members participated. On the way we had a lot of fun by exchanging views with each other on different topics. It was felt as diversity in the unity in the true sense despite of the different nature of the members. At the very outset, we went straight to Dharamshala and enjoyed ourselves at M. Ganj after having "Darshan' at Bhoghusnag Temple situated there. Therefrom, we had gone to "Chomunda Devi" & reached therein the evening. After staying there for a night, we proceded to 'PROR' (Radha Swami Dera) on in the morning after participating in the "Aarti" at Chomunda Devi Temple" which we never enjoyed before. It was beautifully sung by Pandits accompanied by musical instruments. In 'Pror' we saw the Radha Swami Dera and had a 'Langar' there. It was a wonderful place worth seeing, scattered in many acres. Therefrom, we straight went to "Jawala Devi Temple" to have 'Darshan' there. FOR PENSIONERS INTERESTED TO BECOME MARKETING CONSULTANTS Remunerations payable to Marketing Consultants on first disbursal of the Loan is as under. (The rates are inclusive of Service tax and any other tax, if applicable) : NEW LOANS TAKE OVER % subject to minimum of Rs. 5000/- for loans from 0.35% subject to a minimum of Rs. 5000/- for takeover Rs. 10 lacs to Rs. 50 lacs. of loans from Rs. 5 lacs to Rs. 15 lacs. 0.35% for loans above Rs. 50 lacs, subject to 0.50% for loans above Rs. 15 lacs, subject to maximum maximum of Rs lacs per loan. of Rs. 2 lacs per loan. a. The officers/employees who left the Bank s service under SBIVRS or who were dismissed/removed from the Bank s service as a disciplinary measure shall not be eligible. Age at the time of empanelment should not be more than 65 years. Performance of MCs will be reviewed at half yearly intervals. Continuation on the Bank s panel will be subject to satisfactory performance based on the half yearly review. His/Her commitment, diligence and integrity should have been excellent during his service in the Bank. No punishment / penalty should have been inflicted on the officer/ employee during five years of his service in the Bank preceding his/her retirement. Cases of CBI or other law enforcement agencies should not be pending against him. The retired Officer/ Employee should be familiar with the local market. The retired officers/employees who have already been appointed as Channel Management Advisors by the Bank or any such assignment shall not be eligible for empanelment as Marketing Consultants concurrently. CIBIL report of each of the MC applicant will be scrutinized before empanelment as MC. Defaulters with our Bank/other Banks/FIs will not be empanelled. ***** 5

Pleasure is a physical part, when we eat, smell, hear or touch good things, we feel pleasure which is controlled by brain, whereas happiness is a state of mind. Pleasure is material - oriented and is mainly affected by outer conditions. Any happening which increases mental peace and reduce frustration, contribute to happiness. Think of pleasure, man may have all sorts of comforts, fine food, fine music, palatial house, yet he/ she may be very disturbed, worried and frustrated. If we sum up, pleasure is a hardware whereas happiness is a software. Pleasure is an outside agency, which you can have from material things, but true happiness is within and it does not depend on external factors only. The biggest hurdle in happiness is the Ego. The more the inflated ego of a man, the less happy he would be. If ego is minimal, happiness is proportionately much higher. Most of the people are unhappy because of fear of unknown, mostly they think of the future which is a mystery or think of the past which is a history, but real life is in the present. Pleasure is a short lived, because it relies on external circumstances. Any pleasure you feel in the Morning will become stale after sometime. Happiness gives you contentment whereas in pleasure you cherish more. (i) Life is a gift of God and particularly in old age enjoy to its full. (ii) Real happiness comes when we develop faith in God who knows what is best for us. (iii) Help to others or service to others always leads to inner satisfaction and peace of mind. (iv) Try to live in present & fully enjoy the nature & its bounties. (v) Light exercise or Yoga can help to attain happiness & accept things as they are. A.K.NAYYAR JAMMU (J&K)
