3 +Please stand as you are able in body & spirit. The Community Gathers Please add your prayers to the Prayer Wall towards the back of the sanctuary off to the side near the Children s Table. If you have a Joy, Concern, or Prayer Request to share, please write it on one of the white slips found on the table by the prayer wall and give it to Pastor Laurie before our prayer time. Gathering Music Mike Vasich Welcome, Announcements, Greeting Each Other Serena Chial Prelude Soon and Very Soon Andraé Crouch +Call to Worship (a responsive reading) Serena Chial One: Christ is risen! Many: Now what? One: The disciples clung to each other. They huddled in the upper room, waiting. Many: Would the authorities come to take them, too? One: Instead, Jesus himself appeared, despite the locked door. Many: What next? One: Next came doubts and questions, assurances and instructions, and a last word: Many: Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe. One: Christ is risen! Now what? ALL: Now we come together to wait for him. May the risen Christ bless us as we worship what we have not seen, yet believe. +Song of Praise God Is Here Chalice Hymnal #280 God is here! As we your people meet to offer praise and prayer, may we find in fuller measure what it is in Christ we share. Here, as in the world around us, all our varied skills and arts wait the coming of the Spirit into open minds and hearts. Here are symbols to remind us of our lifelong need of grace; here are table, fount, and pulpit; here the cross has central place. Here in honesty of preaching, here in silence, as in speech, here, in newness and renewal, God the Spirit comes to each. Here our children find a welcome in the Shepherd's flock and fold; here as bread and wine are taken, Christ sustains us as of old. Here the servants of the Servant seek in worship to explore what it means in daily living to believe and to adore.

4 Lord of all, of church and kingdom, in an age of change and doubt, keep us faithful to the Gospel; help us work your purpose out. Here, in this day's dedication, all we have to give, receive; we, who cannot live without you, we adore you! We believe! +Invocation Serena Chial +The Lord s Prayer Our Creator, who is in heaven, holy is your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. +Musical Response Into My Heart CH #304 Into my heart, into my heart, come into my heart, Lord Jesus; come in today, come in to stay, come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Hearing and Reflecting on God s Word Community Joys & Concerns Laurie Feille Song of Response Seek Ye First (v. 2) CH #354 Ask, and it shall be given unto you; seek and ye shall find, Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you. Allelu, alleluia! Prayers of the People Children s Moment Laurie Feille Anthem My Tribute Andraé Crouch Scripture Serena Chial John 20:19-31 When it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and the doors of the house where the disciples had met were locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you. After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. But Thomas (who was called the Twin), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, We have seen the Lord.

5 But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the mark of the nails and my hand in his side, I will not believe. A week later his disciples were again in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were shut, Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you. Then he said to Thomas, Put your finger here and see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it in my side. Do not doubt but believe. Thomas answered him, My Lord and my God! Jesus said to him, Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe. Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name. Sermon Show Me Dan Adolphson Responding to the Word +Hymn of Invitation Faith While Trees Are Still in Blossom CH #535 Faith, while trees are still in blossom, plans the picking of the fruit; Faith can feel the thrill of harvest when the buds begin to sprout. Long before the dawn is breaking, faith anticipates the sun. Faith is eager for the daylight, for the work that must be done. Faith, uplifted, tamed the water of the undivided sea, And the people of the Hebrews found the path that made them free. Faith believes that God is faithful: God will be what God will be! Faith accepts the call, responding, I am willing, Lord, send me. Celebration of Gifts Lu Griffin Offering Invitation Collection of Offering: Electronic giving is available through the Givelify app. Special Music: Sure on Shining Night Samuel Barber Jack Russell, tenor section leader +Doxology: Praise God, from whom all blessings flow. Praise God, all creatures here below. Praise God above, ye heavenly hosts: Creator, Christ and Holy Ghost. Amen +Prayer of Dedication The Lord s Supper Invitation to Communion Mike Hesano

6 Sharing the Peace of Christ (When invited to do so, please share Christ s peace with one or two near you. The peace of Christ be with you. Response: And also with you. ) Song of Communion We Come As Guests Invited CH #386 We come as guests invited when Jesus bids us dine, his friends on earth united to share the bread and wine; the bread of life is broken the wine is freely poured for us, in solemn token of Christ our dying Lord. We eat and drink, receiving from Christ the grace we need, and in our hearts believing on him by faith we feed; with wonder and thanksgiving for love that knows no end, we find in Jesus living our ever-present friend. One bread is ours for sharing, one single, fruitful vine, our fellowship declaring renewed in bread and wine: renewed, sustained, and given by token, sign, and word, the pledge and seal of heaven, the love of Christ our Lord. Prayer for Communion and Words of Institution Partaking of the Lord s Supper: ALL are truly welcome to partake. Please partake of the gluten free bread and the grape juice as they are passed. Music for Meditation: Always Remember Jesus Andraé Crouch Closing Words +Benediction Deb Murphy Dan Adolphson +Song of Blessing Where He Leads Me (v.3) CH #346 He will give me grace and glory, he will give me grace and glory, he will give me grace and glory, and go with me, with me all the way. [Refrain] where he leads me I will follow-- I'll go with him, with him all the way. Postlude: Bless the Lord Andraé Crouch Thank you for worshipping with us this morning! There are refreshments in the Gathering Space just outside the sanctuary. Song Lyrics reprinted under CCLI license # /OneLicense.net #A Church Streaming & Podcast License #CSPL078361
