2 Dear Cloverbuds, I hope you had a lot of fun in 4-H last year! We will continue to facilitate projects for you and your family to learn more about 4-H. This book will help you to keep track of what you have done with your 4-H club, and the friends made at various events. The sky is the limit in 4-H, one day you could even go to space camp! Keep trying different things, you never know what will be real enjoyable to you. Enjoy and explore... the world of 4-H! An EEO/Affirmative Action employer, University of Wisconsin-Extension provides equal opportunities in employment and programming, including Title IX and ADA requirements. If you need an interpreter, materials in alternate formats or other accommodations to access this program, activity, or service, please contact the program coordinator at as soon as possible (10 days is reasonable) preceding the scheduled event so that proper arrangements can be made in a timely fashion. 4-H clover protected under 18 U.S.C. 707 Cloverbud Recordbook Year 2 & 3 Page 2

4 The Pledges... Pledge of Allegiance I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. When saying the Pledge of Allegiance, your right hand should be placed over your heart, which is on the left side of your chest. 4-H Pledge I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking Right hand points to forehead Right hand over heart My HEART to greater loyalty, My HANDS to larger service, My HEALTH to better living, For my Club, Community, My Country, and My World. Arms slightly bent palms up Arms at sides The 4-H Emblem is: A green four-leaf clover with the letter H on each leaf. Each H s stands for part of the pledge Head, Heart, Hands, Health. 4-H Motto The 4-H motto is To Make the Best Better. This motto challenges everyone involved in 4-H to do the very best job they can. 4-H Colors Green and White Green symbolizes nature s most common color. White symbolizes purity.
