The Our Saviour s Baby Care Ministry serves God s youngest in need, both locally and globally. Our Saviour s assembles Baby Care Kits that are distributed by Lutheran World Relief wherever the need is greatest worldwide. A Baby Care Kit consists of: Two lightweight cotton t-shirts Two long-or short-sleeved gowns or sleepers (without feet) Two receiving blankets, medium-weight cotton or flannel, or crocheted or knitted with lightweight yarn, up to 52" square Four cloth diapers, flat fold preferred One jacket, sweater or sweatshirt with a hood, or include a baby cap Two pairs of socks One hand towel Two bath-size bars (4 to 5 oz.) of gentle soap, in original wrapping Two diaper pins or large safety pins Most of the items for these kits are bought by team members at resale shops and each kit requires $1.30 for shipping. This ministry is possible because of the generosity of our congregation and those who honor and remember special women through a Mother s Day gift. This weekend, April 26/27 and next weekend, May 3/4, there will be a special insert in the bulletin for this collection, and special gift acknowledgement cards will be available. This sales raises money to support various ministry and mission efforts here at Our Saviour s. Are you doing some spring cleaning? We will be looking for donations to sell at the sale. Set aside your gently used treasures and donate them to the Mega Garage Sale. Most donations are accepted; however, there are a few items we cannot sell. Please no large appliances, CRT monitors w/o computers, adult mattresses, steel desks, console-tv s or tires. Donations may be dropped off at Celebration! between Thursday, May 29 - June 3. Watch for more details about specific drop off times. There is a also a special perennial and bake sale. So, if you have any perennials you would like to share or yummy goods you would like to bake, please keep us in mind. We will be collecting these closer to the time of the sale. There will be so many great treasures waiting for you! We will also be looking for many volunteers to price, set up, work shifts during the sale and for clean up. Watch for opportunities to volunteer, coming in the next few weeks.

3 Actively and Consistently Seek Spiritual Summer Camps We still have a few opening for our summer camp programs. Brochures with all the summer camp information are located in the kiosks at all doors. We are offering a variety of different camps for children of all ages. For all the details and to register, go to oursaviours.com. Volunteer for VBS: Weird Animals: Where Jesus Love is One-of-a-Kind. Help children know Jesus love by volunteering for Vacation Bible School this summer. The dates are June and July 14-18, and each week needs 80 volunteers in order to provide a safe and meaningful experience for all the children! Join Us For The ABC s of Hospitality- We are revamping our Sunday Hospitality Ministry and are anticipating that more families will find it easier to participate with this new process. Each Sunday a different letter of the alphabet (based on last name) will be responsible for all aspects of hospitality. For example, May 4 will be an opportunity for all families with the last name of A to participate. Participating is easy, just communicate with us through top serve and let us know if you can assist with set-up, refilling coffee, clean-up or bringing a food item. Food items can be homemade or store bought. If you bring an item containing nuts, please make sure it is clearly marked. Some of the things that have been brought in previously are cakes, cookies, muffins, bags of oranges, cut fruit, granola bars, bagels, and donuts. Set-up for hospitality occurs at 8:00 am, refilling of coffee typically at 10:00 and 11:00 am, with clean-up beginning around 11:50 am. 4 Actively and Consistently Seek Spiritual Growth Children and Family Ministry - Service Stepping Stone class 4th graders - The Service Stepping Stone class will meet on April 27 and May 4 at 9:00 and 10:30 am in the Temple at Our Saviour s campus. The class is in place of church school and is intended for 4th graders and their parents. Contact Janine at janinenorgaard@oursaviours.com. Youth Ministries - Last Day of Surge and Ignition - This Sunday, April 27. We have a fun time planned for both - so come and join us! Surge: 12:00-1:30 pm and Ignition: 6:00-8:00 pm Confirmation - We are very excited to confirm 54 confirmands into our congregation on Sunday, May 4, 2:00-4:00 pm, Our Saviour's. Everyone is welcome! Confirmands should meet in the Fellowship Center at 12:30 pm Confirmation Rehearsal and Dinner - Saturday, May 3, 6:00-8:00 pm, Fellowship Center. For parents and confirmand only. Baccalaureate - High school seniors will be recognized on Sunday, May 18 at the 10:30 am service. A brunch for seniors and family members will follow the ceremony. RSVP's are past due. The seniors chosen will have demonstrated that they have a heart for doing the work of Jesus by helping others. If you would like to apply for the scholarship, please complete the form found on the Youth Blog and give it to Bobbi Jo Cyr by Thursday, May 1. The scholarship recipients will be announced at the Baccalaureate Breakfast.

5 55 Plus Event Summer Place Theatre will be presenting The Jazz Age Cabaret on Thursday, May 1, 7:30 pm at Celebration! campus. A 3 piece band and 14 singers, will present George & Ira Gershwin's music. Tickets are FREE and will be handed out the night of the show at the Celebration! campus. His writings on the role of Christianity in the secular world have become classics. He lived what he taught, strongly opposing the Nazi regime, participating in the plot to assassinate Hitler and being executed by the Nazis for his actions. In this class, we will discuss Bonhoeffer s views on ethical issues of his day and how his views might guide us in the 21st century. 6 Help Create a Flower Garden in the Our Saviour s Art Gallery! Calling all artists and photographers from 5 to 105 years. Draw, paint, create flowers of fabric, clay, bits of this or that, or perhaps photograph a beautiful bud. Be sure your work is original and not made from a pattern or designed by another. Transform the world by walking beside and caring for others Men s Ministry is working with LSSI and Bethany Community Church in Washington, IL to help in the rebuilding effort, from the tornadoes. If you are interested in joining one of the groups, please sign up for one of the two times listed. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
