Differences in Men
Successes or Failures
All Men Are Not Equal
God Will Soon Expose All the Differences
In this Life and the Next
No Men Are Created Equal
No Two Men Behave Equally
All differences of men will soon be exposed!
Your eternal destiny will be related to it!
You will likely be exposed before you die!
Let Jesus start our comparison of men.
Matthew 21:28-32
Jesus said, But what think ye?
A certain man had two sons;
and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
Whether of them twain did the will of his father?
They say unto him, The first.
Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not:
but the publicans and the harlots believed him:
and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
Two Sons Asked to Work Son #1 Son #2 I will not work. I will work, sir. He then repented. But he did not work. He went and worked. He stayed rebellious.
Two Groups Hearing the Gospel Publicans & Harlots Priests & Elders They were sinners. They were self-righteous. But they repented. They did not repent. They changed their lives. They would not change.
Two Kinds of Christians Repentant Sinners Self-righteous Fakes They know they are bad. They think they are fine. They repent at truth. They ignore warnings. They change their lives. They never change.
Two Kinds of Christians Repentant Sinners Self-righteous Fakes They love warnings. They are polite talkers. They make mistakes. They have little fruit. They grow in grace. They stay in their rut.
Jesus compared men another way.
Luke 12:47-48
Jesus said, And that servant, which knew his lord s will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Jesus said, But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.
Jesus said, For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Two Kinds of Servants Knowing & Disobedient Ignorant & Disobedient Knew the master s will. Did not know his will. Disobeyed his master. Broke the master s rules. Beaten many stripes! Still beaten few stripes!
Two Kinds of Christians Taught Ignorant Pastor preaches truth. No pastor or weak one. No excuse of ignorance. Little knowledge of God. Judged severely! Judged mercifully!
He also compared men with eternal consequences.
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him he shall separate them one from another and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Matthew 25:31-33
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: Matthew 25:34
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41
Would you agree this is a pretty big difference?
Two Kinds of Men Sheep Goats Loving service to others. Selfish lack of service. Only the least count. May have loved friends. Eternal inheritance! Cursed! Everlasting fire!
All men shall give an account of their lives.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Ecclesiastes 12:14
In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Romans 2:16
For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:10-12
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. II Corinthians 5:10
All will be exposed and judged strictly.
Two Kinds of Christians Productive Perfunctory With fruit and works. Attend church regularly. Passionate service. Mainly Sunday motions. Fellowship and heaven. Fruitless and then hell?
Two Kinds of Christians Affect Many Affect Few Always loving, serving. Usually selfishly alone. Children are servants. Carnal, worldly children. Loved and sought out. Ignored or endured.
All men shall give an account of their lives.
You choose daily how and where to invest.

There are other examples in the Bible.
Two Men from Last Meeting Abraham Lot Obeyed no matter what. Selfish for prosperity. Sacrificed anything. Family of compromise. Ignored pleasure now. Sought pleasure here.
Two Men from Last Meeting Abraham Lot He was Friend of God. Could have been famous. Happy blessings here! Miserably ruined his life. Heaven named for him! Example of great loser.
No Two Men Behave Equally
You will likely be exposed before you get to die!
The difference of Abraham and Lot is incredible!
It was simply the result of their choices!
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20
He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him. Proverbs 11:27
A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn. Proverbs 12:2
Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Proverbs 13:15
There are other examples in the Bible.
Two Men Kings! David Saul Passion, delight in God. Chosen as the first king. Loved mercy to others. Very gifted physically. Fearless faith in God. Had Samuel as his tutor.
Two Men Kings! David Saul Man after God s heart. Had to live fearing David. Zealous worship leader. Last worship with witch. Father of Jesus Christ! Disgraced family cut off.
The difference of David and Saul is incredible!
Saul could have had a dynasty with Jonathan!
It was simply the result of foolish choices!

There are other examples in the Bible.
Two Men Kings! Jehoshaphat Ahab A great king of Judah. Married a worldly wife. Feared God - revivalist. Despised hard preaching. Fearless faith in God. He and wife ugly deaths.
The difference of Jehoshaphat and Ahab is incredible!
Two Men Uncle-Nephew David Joab Humble king of Judah. Took Salem; led army. Sweet Psalmist of Israel. Jealous and too hard. God s favorite forever. Executed at the altar.
The difference of David and Joab is incredible!

Why?
Oh Why?
There are other examples in the Bible.
Two Young Men with Whores Joseph Samson Promises postponed. Strongest man ever. Opportunity but NO! Warned often but YES! Egypt s throne; 2 tribes! Blind grind suicide!
The difference of Joseph and Samson is incredible!
Two Men In Same City Lazarus Rich Man Miserable life of trouble. Had best of everything. Humble trust in God. Attended church often. Reversal beyond belief! Reversal beyond belief!
Another Contrast!
Two Brothers Prodigal Older Brother Fool wasted inheritance. Faithful, perfunctory life. Repented and returned. Self-righteous, resentful. Fatted calf and honor. Illustrated the Pharisees.
Two Nations Gentiles Jews Idolaters humbly repent! Made light of gospel. Glad rejoicing at gospel. Hated truth preachers. Kingdom and blessings! Ground to powder 70AD!
He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons. Matthew 21:41
Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. Matthew 21:43
Ministers Make Choices Timothy Others Naturally loved souls. Seek their own comfort. Exalted Christ & Spirit. Little passion for Christ. Father-son to Paul. Unlike the great apostle.
Members Make Choices Phebe, Stephanas, etc. Average Members Addicted to serve others. Seek their own comfort. Christ shining through. Doctrine, friends, etc. Glorify God in all ways. Truth, habit, rules, etc.
Churches Make Choices Philippi Ephesus Doctrine and passion. Doctrine and diligence. Serving far and wide. Lost passion for Christ. Paul s kindest epistle. Spirit left a corpse!
Churches Make Choices Philippi Laodicea Doctrine and passion. Comfortable and proud. Serving far and wide. Lukewarm for Christ. Paul s kindest epistle. Soon to be spewed out!

Choose right! Doctrine & Diligence? or Christ & Passion?
Choose right! or All Four?
Choose right! Hot? Cold? Lukewarm?

Two Women Both Want You! Wisdom Folly Prepared a feast for you. Prison fare is her best. Life, honor, riches, etc.! Her looks and lies entice. Pleasure now and later. Pain, misery, death, hell.
Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. Proverbs 3:16-17
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. Proverbs 3:18
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. Proverbs 9:1-2
A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. To call passengers who go right on their ways: Proverbs 9:13-15
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. Proverbs 9:17-18
The difference of wisdom and folly is incredible!
But most men choose folly over wisdom!
Why?
Oh Why?
Every One Makes a Choice Strait Gate Broad Way Strait = restricted life. Broad = live as you want. A few ugly travelers. Many beautiful people. Life! and eternal life! Destruction! and worse!
God deserves your best!
God demands your best!
God blesses zealots!
God judges pretenders!
