2 In 1895 Mary Baker Eddy ordained the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as the only Pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist. The first tenet of Christian Science reads, As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life. Our Lesson Sermon consists of selections from the Bible and Science and Health. The Lesson is to be studied daily during the week prior to the Sunday date.
