2 W e l c o m e t o Y o u r G r a t i t u d e J o u r n a l Hi Babe! I am so glad that you are choosing to join me in this gratitude challenge, but before we get started, I want to share a little back story about me and why this challenge means so much to me! I had reached a point where I was constantly struggling to just be grateful for where I was in life, for the things that I had, and the overall plan that God had for me. I was always looking at others on social media and comparing my journey to theirs. I would see all the trips they were taking, the clothes they were buying, the really cool things they were doing like starting their own businesses and starting their dream careers. It got so bad that there was hardly ever a day where I was happy. I was in a perpetual state of unhappiness because I was always finding someone else who had something that I didn t or was living the life I thought I wanted to live. I would chase these material things not even realizing that those material things aren t what provide me with happiness. I would chase these lifestyles not even realizing that that might not be the lifestyle that God had planned for me. I was simply unable to be grateful for anything that I had. Oh, and the material things other people had that I wanted yeah I bought those things and still found that I was missing out on something. So really, at the end of the day, I was literally broke and sad all because I lacked the ability to just be grateful! Now I will be the first to tell you that I am not the end all, be all. I still have my days where I need a little reminder here and there, but I am a walking example that this challenge is tried and true! I promise that at the end of the next 30 days, you will have a more positive mindset and outlook on your life and your blessings, and you will be glowing with gratitude! So, if you are ready for a change and you are committed to giving this your all let s get started!

3 H o w t o U s e t h e J o u r n a l So here s the deal, babe for the next 30 days you need to commit to 15 minutes of quiet time with God. That s it! Just 15 minutes! Now, if you want to spend more time with God than just 15 minutes, well by all means go right ahead! I say at least 15 minutes just so that you can see how feasible it is to fit in time with Jesus. Struggling to find 15 minutes? How much time have spent scrolling on your phone, binge watch your favorite reality TV show, or watching that one cute cat video on YouTube for like the 10th time today? Yeah I thought so.. So now that you have found your 15 minutes, I have a few rules: Make sure you have a quiet space. It s kinda hard to have quiet time with God if you don t have a quiet space, don t you think? Gather your supplies: a pen (or pencil, if that s your thing), your Bible, and this journal (duh?) Set the stage and get comfy! Sometimes I play worship music in the background, other times I light a candle, but you can best believe I always have my blanket and sit on my big comfy chair! Okay, now that we have those rules established let s chat about the journal. You will find that there are 6 daily gratitude and prayer pages, and then 1 weekly reflection and prayer page. For each of the daily gratitude and prayer pages, I would suggest to start with writing out your 5 Things, reading the daily verse, and then writing out your prayer. Why in this order? When you start by writing out your 5 Things you are automatically setting your mind to being grateful. Following that up with what God s Word says about gratitude helps to affirm what you just said you were grateful for. Finishing this off by writing out your prayer allows you to pour your heart out to God in thanksgiving and gratitude for your 5 Things and His good Word. You see? It all intertwines! For the days that you have a weekly reflection, follow the same layout but omit your 5 Things for the weekly reflection and use this time to think back on how your mindset has shifted, areas that you struggled in, and action items for moving forward into the next week. On the last day of the challenge there is a Final Reflection page where you can review your weekly reflections and daily prayers and see how God has been working through you during these last 30 days. You will be amazed at how much more positive and rejuvenated you feel!

35 C o n g r a t u l a t i o n s! You did it! I hope that you feel content and full of gratitude just like I do! This 30 day challenge was no simple task. It took diligence and dedication to make time for this each and every day, much like the diligence and dedication that goes into our relationship with God. You're probably wondering "so, what's next? Where do I go from here?" Just because this challenge has ended that doesn't mean that your gratitude journal should. Continue to show gratitude each and every day! The feeling you have right now will only be amplified with each day you take a moment to think about what you are grateful for. Oh, and your prayers?
